Grandfather Fu’s health was so much better these days. Although the chances of going back to his normal vigor were small, he was still a lot better than a few days ago.

His family has been taken care of him, and the burden he used to bear alone was shared amongst them.

But something was left for him to do, because, if everything was taken away from a man who used to be so active before, he might slip into depression, so something was left to keep his mind and hands busy.

Jia Li was granted leave because of her pregnancy, but she did drop by a few times to check on work progress, but she doesn’t stay till the end of work hours no matter what.

Because of the stress of being pregnant, she easily felt drowsy and moody, so when she comes in the morning, she would go back immediately it clocked noon.

Fu Hua told her not to come to work anymore for a week to FJ’s fas.h.i.+on show, and she agreed.

The previous day was, Jia Li’s last day at work, and today being Thursday, she was taking Jasmine to her dentist for a check-up.

She drove them straight to the dentist to get her little girl’s teeth checked up with no one following them.

Jia Li had in mind to only stop by at the hospital and then come home straight when they were done, but then, she remembered that Daiyu asked her to send Jasmine over so she could get familiar with the environment for her swimming lessons before she starts.

Since there was a change of plans, Jia Li helped Jasmine into her toddler seat before climbing into the driver’s seat with much effort.

Next, she revived the car’s engine and drove off. Once they left the hospital’s premises, she dialed Fu Hua’s contact phone number from the car. She was going to tell him where she was going.

On the second ring, Fu Hua who was in the middle of a meeting picked up his phone which was on vibration mode.

When he saw the called ID, he smiled a bit and put his hand up as a sign to cause with the meeting.

He k we the call wouldn’t take long, so there was no need to excuse himself to go outside and answer the call, so he stayed back and asked for the meeting to be paused.

Immediately he answered the call, Jia Li greeted him and asked how work was going.

”I’m fine, currently I’m in the middle of a meeting.” Fu Hua replied in a patient tone.

Hearing that he was in the middle of a meeting, Jia Li tried to make her words brief. “Oh! I called to tell you that Jasmine and I are going to Daiyu’s swimming club to take a look since Jasmine would be starting her swimming lessons toon.”

Jasmine was already on a long break from school, and it was the perfect time to engage in a swimming lesson during their long holiday in August.

”Are you two alone? Has she seen the dentist already?” Fu Hua inquired. He knew about his little princess visiting the dentist today.

”We have seen the dentist already, and we are alone. I just remembered to see Daiyu, so I called to inform you.”

Fu Hua didn’t look a bit happy as he chided her for being careless.

”It’s not good to drive that long-distance when you are heavily pregnant, you should be careful. Maybe I should take that car away from you when I come back, you can’t be taking risks anymore.”

Jia Li didn’t have the energy to argue with him and said, “Fine, you can take the car away, but you will have to find another fun activity for me otherwise if I stay cooked up in the house for long, I might go crazy!”

Jia Li made sure to let him know the consequences of what boredom could do to her.

Fu Hua understood and agreed to find an interesting activity to keep her busy while at home.

Glancing at his wrist.w.a.tch, he said to her, “Text me when you get there, and call me when you are about to leave so I can meet up with you.”

Jia Li nodded in agreement but then remembered he couldn’t see her and replied, “Okay, continue with your meeting, bye.”

Fu Hua hung up and waved his hand for the meeting to continue.

When he was having a conversation with Jia Li, the board of directors already knew who he was speaking with.

Only an emergency or his important family could make him pause in the middle of an important meeting.

Plus the conversation he just had with her revealed a lot.

”Mummy, was that Daddy?” Jasmine asked enthusiastically. There was a big smile on her far as she inquired.

”Yes, and you will see him in a few hours,” Jia Li replied before pressing on the speed pedal.

Fifteen minutes later, Jia Li arrived at Daiyu’s swimming center with Jasmine.

Because she had called earlier, Daiyu was waiting for them outside of the building. Immediately she saw them, she quickly rushed towards them.

She first embraced Jia Li from the side before lifting Jasmine in her arms and giving her a big hug.

”I thought you wouldn’t be able to make it today,” Daiyu said while leading inside the building.

”If I had turned to the route home when I remembered it, I wouldn’t have come with her.”

Walking side by side, Daiyu asked with a slight frown, “Why did you choose to drive here by yourself? You look like you are almost about to put to bed, is this worth the stress?”

Jia Li smiled, “This is nothing to me, but you don’t need to worry about me driving anymore, because my car it’s getting confiscated.”

The Guan family seemed to have been quiet for a long time and staying out of the Fu family and the Huang family’s way, but today, they called it quits.
