Chapter 71

The Demon King was well-dressed as he waited for Bai Yang to approach. “You still have a lot of thorns in your back,” he said in a deep voice. “Let me take them out for you.”
Bai Yang was in the middle of putting on the Demon King’s robe. When he heard the Demon King’s suggestion, he hesitated.
The Demon King noticed and revealed a conciliatory smile, “It’s alright. I’ll take out the poisonous thorns and then find some herbal medicine to apply. You’ll recover in no time.”
As he spoke, he reached out tentatively and touched Bai Yang’s back.
One inch. Another inch, and yet another inch.
The young man in front of him seemed convinced and didn’t resist.
When the Demon King touched Bai Yang’s back and wasn’t rejected, he inwardly let out a sigh of relief. He calmly picked the thorns out of Bai Yang’s back and did his best not to look at Bai Yang’s naked body.
The areas where Bai Yang had been stung were already swollen, forming large circles. His tight muscles now looked like steamed buns. It could be said that it wasn’t at all attractive. However, to the Demon King they were filled with inexplicable s.e.xual appeal.
The blue-green bruise on his shoulder must have been from last night, when he bit….
The tiny wounds on his back must have been from rubbing on the gra.s.s last night, during their moment of pa.s.sion….
The two little points on his chest were swollen, as if they’d been played with for a long time last night….
….
Not good. He shouldn’t look at them again.
He lowered his head and concentrated on helping Bai Yang.
Bai Yang wanted to get rid of the thorns and so accepted the other’s actions.
The Demon King’s movements were very gentle and didn’t make him feel any discomfort. Even though Bai Yang couldn’t really stand being in the Demon King’s presence, he didn’t resist.
The Demon King quickly stripped him of the venomous thorns and said, “All good.”
He was a gentleman the whole time, with no unnecessary movements.
Bai Yang felt his own back and didn’t feel any thorns. He shook out the Demon King’s robe and draped it over his shoulders.
The Demon King saw him put his robe on and let out a sigh of relief. With Bai Yang at least accepting his clothes, it was like he was beginning to accept him. However, what’s with this sudden faint feeling of disappointment?
He suppressed the complicated feelings in his heart and said enthusiastically, “I’ll go pick some herbs. Wait here for me.”
He’d made such a big mistake, if he didn’t make up for it now, when would he? In order to gain back his lover’s favor, the Demon King was full of enthusiasm.
Bai Yang considered for a moment. It didn’t seem like there was anything wrong with that suggestion, so he nodded.
After having just lamented with Xiao Ling, his mood had improved. If he really thought about it, he couldn’t blame the Demon King for everything, because Bai Yang was the one who offered to help.
But after being screwed for no reason, he was unable to face the Demon King as naturally as before.
Once the Demon King left, Bai Yang wondered whether he should just sneak away, but looking at the boundless forest before him he abandoned the idea.
He couldn’t find a road, and with his body still swollen, he didn’t want to return home in such a sorry state.
From inside his mind, Xiao Ling said, “Sir, I’d like to remind you that you haven’t completed your daily task yet.”
Bai Yang: “….”
Without Xiao Ling to remind him, he forgot that he even had a daily task… wait, daily task?
Bai Yang said, “Xiao Ling, I didn’t complete the daily task yesterday, either. Why wasn’t I punished?”
Xiao Ling beamed at him, “Sir, you did complete it.”
Bai Yang was baffled. From entering FireThorn City to leaving it, he’d been well-behaved. He hadn’t flirted with anyone. When had he completed the daily task?
“When?” he asked, bewildered.
Xiao Ling coughed. “Sir, did you forget what you did with the Demon King last night?
Bai Yang’s face slowly reddened, and he said in a low voice, “So?”
“So, you completed your daily task,” Xiao Ling said, chuckling.
Bai Yang finally reacted. Surprised, he said, “That counted?”
“Why not? The daily task is just to flirt with beautiful people. You had s.e.x with someone, which is much more serious than flirting. How could that not count?”
Bai Yang: “….”
Bai Yang said indignantly, “He screwed me, okay?”
Thinking about last night made Bai Yang unhappy.
Xiao Ling didn’t want to touch his moldy head and said with a cough, “In short, you already completed yesterday’s daily task. What will you do about today’s?”
Bai Yang’s head hurt. “Today I should be able to return to the Palace of Eternal Darkness. I’ll find someone to flirt with then.”
That being said, he’d better hurry, heal the swelling and return home.
There was a rustling sound, and Bai Yang turned his head. He saw the Demon King emerging from the forest holding two handfuls of herbs. He probably noticed Bai Yang looking at him because he put on an ingratiating smile.
That normally proud and aloof face with a nose that wanted to point to the sky was like a Tianshan snow lotus herb; it could be looked at from afar but not plucked. For that face to suddenly show such an ingratiating expression, like a big dog seeing its master, was very refres.h.i.+ng.
Bai Yang was dazzled. He could almost see the Demon King’s tail wagging.
“I came back.” The Demon King quickened his pace.
Bai Yang said “oh,” woodenly.
The Demon King held up the soft green herbs, walked over to Bai Yang, and said, “I’ll apply the medicine.”
Because his bottom was sore, Bai Yang had been resting his chest against a large stone. When he saw the Demon King come over, he glanced at the green herbs in his hand and refused. “No need. I’ll do it myself.”
The Demon King didn’t dare insist on it and gave him the herbs. He told him repeatedly, “Chew it until it is soft and then immediately spread it on your wound.”
Bai Yang took the herbs and retreated off to the side. They resembled garlic chives and he could feel tiny hairs all over its surface.
Bai Yang seized a few stalks and put them in his mouth. He hadn’t even chewed twice when a whiff of spice reached his nose.
The smell was overwhelming. It was as if he’d eaten half a tube of wasabi. It was so spicy he started to cry.
“Ugh, what is this?” Bai Yang spit out the medicine.
“This is the antidote to the venom in the thorns. Don’t worry. I wouldn’t lie to you.” The Demon King thought that Bai Yang had misunderstood him.
“Water! I need water!” Not caring to argue with the Demon King, Bai Yang opened his mouth wide to shout.
His mouth was on fire. Ever since he was young, Bai Yang didn’t like to eat spicy food. He was very sensitive to it. He couldn’t handle even a little pepper.
That one bite had filled his nose with the smell of spice. It made Bai Yang feel terribly hot.
The Demon King was shocked by his delicate reaction and used some magic to make a drop of water as big as a fist appear in midair. The water droplet floated over to Bai Yang who raised his head as the water droplet fell into his mouth.
Bai Yang gulped it down. The spicy feeling faded a little.
“You’re not used to the taste. I’ll help.” The Demon King walked over. As Bai Yang’s tears overflowed, the Demon King took most of the leftover herbs from his hand and deftly put some stalks in his mouth and chewed them. Soon after, he spit them out again.
From start to finish, his complexion stayed the same and didn’t change at all.
Bai Yang was shocked that he was so capable and admired him for it. After all, not just anyone could swallow half a tube of wasabi.
The Demon King spit the herbs he’d chewed up into a leaf as big as someone’s palm. At first glance, they seemed very unappealing.
Even though the Demon King was super handsome, there’s no difference between what he would spit out and what another person would spit out.
Bai Yang was reluctant to touch it.
He wanted to find a bowl to smash the herbs with. He looked around but quickly gave up on the idea. Where would he find such a tool in the middle of nowhere?
The herbs were very unappealing, but he thought of the Demon King who had endured the spicy flavor just to help him and thought he couldn’t be too picky.
“Alright. I’ll come over and help you put on the medicine,” the Demon King said seriously, holding out the herbs.
As soon as the Demon King started being serious, everyone would be scared of him, even if he was naked and holding something like p.o.o.p.
“No need. I’ll do it myself.” As if he saw the head teacher, Bai Yang suddenly couldn’t find it in himself to be reluctant. He took off his clothes and uncovered the top half of his body. He took the leaf, grabbed the medicine on top and spread it on his body.
The Demon King didn’t watch him. He kept his head down and kept chewing.
Given his control over his magic, he could manipulate his demonic qi to cut the medicine into pieces, but in the end, he didn’t.
If he did that, how should he behave in front of his lover?
His mouth was burning, and even though his face remained expressionless, his eyes started to moisten.
Bai Yang noted the change and, astonished, thought, So the Demon King can’t take spicy food, either. He said, “Alright, that’s enough already. There’s no need to do more.”
The Demon King just continued to chew the medicine and only after he’d chewed another mouthful did he say, “Alright, now it’s enough.”
Bai Yang looked at the medicine on top of the leaf. Internally, he gave a deep sigh.
Originally, he’d resented the Demon King a lot. But seeing him doing so much for Bai Yang’s sake, he couldn’t blame him too much.
“It’s not easy to reach your back. I’ll help you,” the Demon King suggested again.
Bai Yang had already spread some medicine on his chest, but he hadn’t yet taken care of his back.
The Demon King took the initiative, offering to help him apply the medicine. Bai Yang considered it and agreed.
The Demon King grabbed the herbs and his hands roamed over Bai Yang’s body. From start to finish, the Demon King’s face never changed.
It didn’t take long for Bai Yang’s whole body to be covered in the herbal medicine.
The Demon King sat behind him and squinted his eyes, happily staring at his…. Bai Yang was covered in his saliva and scent which meant he already belongs to me.
In some ways, the Demon race was similar to primitive animals. They both used scent and liquids to mark places and things that belonged to them. However, Bai Yang didn’t know that. At most, he’d think covering someone’s body with saliva was gross. However, since the Demon King endured all that spice for him, he thought he shouldn’t think of it like that.
The Demon King took the herbs to spread on himself. He had recently plunged into the th.o.r.n.y bush and, like Bai Yang, was covered in thorns. When his chest was covered in herbs, he raised his head and very easily asked Bai Yang, “Can you help me apply it to my back?”
He helped you, how can you refuse?
Bai Yang nodded and said, “Alright.”
The Demon King smiled and turned around, turning his naked back to Bai Yang.
His back was broad and beautiful. Fully dressed, you wouldn’t think he was very strong. Only when he took off his clothes would you discover that he was actually very buff.
From inside his mind, Xiao Ling said, “Sir, seize this opportunity to fulfill your daily task. Opportunities are hard to come by.”
Right!
Bai Yang’s eyes were bright as he scooped up some medicine to apply to the Demon King’s back. His hands also started to misbehave.
The Demon King remained with his back to Bai Yang, as if he hadn’t noticed anything strange.
Bai Yang said tentatively, “Your Highness, your skin is quite smooth.”
As soon as he said that there was a “ding” from inside his mind notifying him that his daily task was completed.
Bai Yang quickly wiped medicine on the Demon King’s wounds and stood up, saying, “That should do it.”
The Demon King slowly turned around, his restraint showing in his eyes. That expression scared Bai Yang and he unconsciously took two steps back. He moved until he was a safe distance away.
The kind of wary behavior made the Demon King’s expression change, and he said in a hoa.r.s.e voice, “Thank you.”
Bai Yang didn’t expect him to say thank you and was surprised, saying, “You’re welcome. We were just helping each other.”
Apart from that start in the cave when he was screwed, whether it was before or after, the Demon King had been so good to him that he felt moved. He really owed the Demon King too much.
Bai Yang thought about it for a while and the uncomfortable feeling in his heart faded a bit.
Indeed, asking a man to not move after entering was completely inhuman. If it was him, he didn’t know if he could have done it. How could he ask the Demon King to be a saint?
Forget it, let bygones be bygones.
The atmosphere eased. He wanted to say something, but heard the Demon King say, “I let you down. It wasn’t my intention….”
Bai Yang didn’t want to remember those unpleasant matters and said, “Let’s not talk about yesterday. Let’s pretend it never happened.”
He’d already thought it over. The incident couldn’t be completely blamed on the Demon King. He also had to bear some responsibility. The best solution was to turn over a new leaf and not talk about it again.
The Demon King saw his expression and tactfully didn’t mention it again.
Pretend nothing happened?
No way!
He must still be angry with me.
If he thought about it, Bai Yang wanted to help him establish a channel out of the goodness of his heart. In the end, he was bullied, and more than that, he bounced off his s.h.i.+eld into a thorn bush which led to his whole body swelling up.
His anger was only natural.
The Demon King could only move forward.
That night, Bai Yang tossed and turned, his mood fluctuating. After rolling around in the poisonous thorn bush, his body was uncomfortable. He was sticky from head to toe, and that hard-to-reach place was swollen and aching endlessly. The Demon race had very strong bodies. When he’d been in the cave, he’d been too sore to move. Now only an aching feeling remained.
He just wanted to bathe and rest.
He didn’t want to wait for the medicine to start working.
“Do you know where I can find water? I want to bathe.” Bai Yang was used to being a straight man. Even though he’d suffered for it, he asked the Demon King without any wariness.
The Demon King noticed his lack of caution and took it upon himself to think a moment before answering, “Yes. I know a lake not too far from here. I can bring you there.”
As he spoke, he drew closer to Bai Yang and reached out to pull him.
This time, Bai Yang, the straight man, reacted. He took a step back and asked warily, “What are you doing? Don’t just come over here.”
The Demon King lifted his hands to show he meant no harm and said innocently, “Don’t you want to bathe? I’ll take you.”
Bai Yang didn’t relax. “You lead the way and I’ll follow you…. Why are you so close to me? Go away!”
The Demon King stood three steps away from him and rubbed his nose. “Alright. Follow me then.”
After saying that, his figure faded in the distance.
Bai Yang was momentarily stunned and then realized that the Demon King had teleported. Bai Yang also resisted his body’s discomfort to teleport and catch up.
He didn’t go far when his body started to feel more and more uncomfortable, and he was forced to stop and rest beneath a tree.
The Demon King came back, leaving an afterimage in his wake. “Why did you stop?”
Bai Yang clenched his teeth. If he said he couldn’t continue, he’d seem weak, especially since the reason he couldn’t continue was because of the person in front of him doing him all night. He especially didn’t want to admit it.
“I’ll be fine soon,” he said like a dead duck.
The Demon King looked him up and down for a moment before sighing. “Or I’ll carry you.”
As he spoke, he grabbed Bai Yang’s hand despite him shrinking back. The Demon King circled Bai Yang’s wrist with his fingers, keeping Bai Yang from pulling away. “I’ll carry you.”
The Demon King’s eyes were bright, and his voice was full of forceful coercion.
Under the Demon King’s watchful gaze, Bai Yang thought for a moment. One moment of anger wasn’t worth suffering, so he compromised and said, “Alright.”
The Demon King seized his waist, and teleported.
Bai Yang, who was being held, immediately put up a violent struggle. “What are you doing!”
“I’m taking you to the lake. Don’t move.” The Demon King had an wronged expression on his face and said, “Didn’t you agree to let me carry you there?”
“Well, why are you holding me?” Bai Yang felt very sensitive to being touched. Even though he had robes draped over his shoulders, they only covered a portion of his body. More than that, the Demon King was naked. Their flesh was pressed up against each other and Bai Yang could even feel the warmth of the Demon King’s skin.
It was too intimate.
“If you aren’t willing for me to hold you, I can also carry you on my back.” The Demon King was very obedient and stopped. He crouched down in front of Bai Yang and indicated for him to climb onto the Demon King’s back. “Come on.”
Bai Yang hesitated.
Of course he hesitated. Being held was embarra.s.sing, but being carried on his back would be even more embarra.s.sing.
The Demon King gave him his only remaining robe to wear, but he wasn’t wearing any pants. If the Demon King carried him on his back, wouldn’t that leg….
Not only his leg, but what about his p.e.n.i.s?
All that rubbing, is it the steps of the devil?
c.r.a.p!
From his mind, Xiao Ling said, “Sir, you’re like those provocative female leads on television. No matter what the male lead does, this isn’t right, that isn’t right, always nitpicking.”
“Shut up!” Bai Yang was fl.u.s.tered and exasperated. He also thought he was being a bit excessive. The Demon King was taking him to the lake out of the goodness of his heart and all he did was be suspicious of him. But to let the Demon King hold him or carry on his back… both make him feel like he got the short end of the stick, and he couldn’t articulate why, so he felt very sullen.
In the end, Bai Yang was good-tempered and couldn’t think of any reason to refuse. He looked at the hard-working Demon King’s sincere eyes and felt a bit guilty. He made his way over. “Whatever. Carry me.”
Stay calm. Stay calm.
He continuously comforted himself.
The Demon King stood up with an “oh”, his face honest. He drew Bai Yang back into his embrace and dashed forward, a smile growing on his face.
There was another way to fix the awkwardness. That is, the Demon King could walk and let Xie Ze Tian follow him. But why would he do that?
Foolish Ze Tian apparently hadn’t thought of that, so the Demon King wouldn’t bring it up.
Bai Yang was caught up in the Demon King’s rhythm. Whenever the Demon King brought someone anywhere, he’d always travel long distances in a flash. Bai Yang had developed the habit of thinking that travelling fast was the norm. Due to that, he hadn’t considered alternative ways of getting there. Adding to that his mood and troubled conscience, meant he was muddleheaded as he was carried away.
The forest began to part and a tranquil lake appeared before them. The lake’s surface was like a mirror, but it wasn’t big. It was like an eye embedded in the forest.
The Demon King lamented reaching their destination so soon. He had to relinquish the treasure in his hands and watch as his love ran to the lake, took off his clothes and jumped in with a splash.
His naked body slipped through the clear water and was quickly scrubbed clean, revealing his fair and smooth skin.
The Demon King stood on the bank and squinted his eyes, his Adam’s Apple bobbing up and down. He tentatively approached the lake.
“What are you doing?” Bai Yang was immediately on guard. He looked sideways at the Demon King; two pitch-black eyes boring into him. Bai Yang’s dripping wet hair stuck to his neck making his skin look even more fair and delicate.
The Demon King came to a stop and said nonchalantly, “I am also dirty and would like to bathe.”
Bai Yang said, “Go over there!”
He gestured towards the opposite bank with his chin.
The Demon King didn’t want to anger him and obediently changed directions. He followed the lake’s edge until he reached the opposite bank.
The Demon King opened his hands and the illusionary clothes he had on disappeared, revealing his perfect figure. He lifted his foot and stepped into the water.
In the lake, Bai Yang had been putting all his strength into scrubbing himself clean when he caught a glimpse of the Demon King and found himself in awe of his beauty.
T/N: Sorry once again for the hiatus >< I hope you enjoy the chapter though.
