Chapter 320: Zheng Suffers A Relapse During The Exam
“Students, please be my witness. She’s just putting on a brave front. It’s not that I’m not giving you a chance!”
The invigilator ordered the students in the last row to get up and began collecting the scripts from the back.
After putting away the scripts, the invigilator glanced at Luo Zheng’s paper deliberately.
She was surprised to find that Luo Zheng’s handwriting was rather beautiful and that she had almost completed the paper. She could not help but be shocked.
However, she immediately left with the scripts.
The next paper was a math paper and there was still half an hour to go before the next paper.
Luo Zheng was lying on the desk and rubbing her stomach while feeling hungry and nauseous.
“Are you feeling uncomfortable?” a male voice asked all of a sudden.
Luo Zheng didn’t need to raise his head to recognize it to be Jiang Musheng.
Just as she was about to answer, Jiang Musheng handed her a gla.s.s of warm water.
She grabbed it and smiled forcefully, “Thank you, monitor.”
Jiang Musheng was wearing light-colored gla.s.ses, and his hairs landed on his forehead messily, covering his face. “You don’t have to thank me. I just… don’t want you to lose.”
After drinking the warm water, Luo Zheng felt much better and turned to look at him. “Do you believe… that I can win the bet?”
She still asked that question even though she had already lost during the Mandarin exam.
He had a calm expression and he answered firmly without any affection, “Why not?”
The two of them seemed telepathic as they looked at each other and smiled tacitly.
There were plenty of students who were looking at them and trying to guess their relations.h.i.+p.
Noticing that she was pale and clearly uncomfortable, Jiang Musheng continued, “If you need help, you can let me know beforehand.”
“I have…” Luo Zheng said despite feeling embarra.s.sed.
Upon hearing her words, Jiang Musheng felt a little confused about what she needed.
There seemed to be some grievance in her eyes and she asked, “Could you… give me another cup of warm water? Of course, if you have something that I can eat, that’d be better!”
“…”
He was momentarily speechless because he could tell that she was not kidding.
He returned to his desk, took out a piece of bread and a carton of milk. In an elite high school like theirs, those food items were considered cheap.
He was initially worried that she might be picky because she was wealthy.
To his surprise, Luo Zheng bit down on the bread as soon as he handed it to her, reminding him of his own cat which would eat gracefully.
“Do you want more? Why don’t I help you get something else that you want?”
Jiang Musheng didn’t expect her to be that famished and hence, was rather shocked.
Luo Zheng sucked on the straw of the carton and shook her head to turn him down.
She was extremely feeble and hence couldn’t eat too much. Otherwise, she would definitely feel terrible.
The bread and milk were consumed by Luo Zheng one by one, and she finally regained some energy. Her arm was in mid-air and she exclaimed, “Jiang Musheng, you lent me your notes, spoke up for me and gave me good food. Don’t worry, I will prove that you’re wise!”
Pak~
Jiang Musheng laughed and gave her a high-five.
“Okay, I trust you.” The feeling of being trusted was wonderful.
Luo Zheng was slightly distracted. If Bo Hancheng could trust her, would… we have not fallen out?
Luo Zheng felt a heartache at the thought of him.
She hurriedly drank some warm water in a bid to suppress it.
Luo Zheng, you must wake up. He’s just Bo Hancheng, not Mr. Bodyguard from the previous life!
Luo Zheng still frowned despite reminding herself that continuously.
Why, does my heart… still hurt?
…
For the next two days, Luo Zheng stayed in the hotel and did not go back to the Mu Family home.
During this period, Mu Tianwei did not contact her and she had already vaguely guessed something.
Mu Tianwei is probably feeling guilty. After all, he plotted against me and tried to give me to Gu Changye during the Gu Family banquet!
Luo Zheng ignored it for a while, and wanted to focus on her exams first. She prayed that her drug relapse would not happen.
Initially, she thought that she would just have to get through it once, in order to delay the next attack… she thought that she would be able to completely quit Blue Vixen after persisting for three months.
She didn’t expect Gu Changye to inject the drug into her again… In that case, the frequency of her relapses would increase!
Sometimes, what you’re most worried about, tends to happen.
Luo Zheng’s hands were shaky during the last paper and she almost couldn’t hold her pen properly.
“Persist on for a while longer… Just a little while… “
