Chapter 228: A few years?
Noah decided to go after a group of wild boars once again. As pigs were known for not being able to lift their heads, just looking at the ground most of the time, this prevented these monsters from seeing the young man in the fire armor flying a few meters above them.
The group of Blessed Ones approached the place Noah had landed at and were on the alert. If Noah couldn't handle these monsters like he said he would, which people still didn't believe he would do, these wild boars would probably run towards them, so they felt they need to be prepared at any time for that.
Not to mention the captain, who deliberately approached the boars more than the rest of the group, prepared to intervene in the battle the moment he felt Noah was going to be in real danger. 'I cannot let this young prodigy die. Even if he can't deal with these four monsters, the Blessings he's received are too useful to waste.'
Noah obviously didn't care what they thought. He had already dealt with a much larger group of monsters while defending the totem so that the system would absorb the divinity it had left in it, so dealing with just 4 monsters was relatively straightforward for him.
Since he had already decided to reveal some of the cards he had up his sleeve, Noah simply summoned the three special imps he had and ordered them to run for the boars. Hearing the footsteps of foes, the boars soon went on alert and ran towards the noise to deal with the enemies.
When they saw that there were only three little red goblins, the boars instinctively lowered their guard a little. But that was the biggest mistake they could have made.
At that moment, Noah teleported behind the boar in the rear and used his [Fire Claws] to make a big cut on the back of the monster.
Unlike Noah's attacks at the beginning of the Fortress, this cut was even more powerful, as he had absorbed 40 Strength 'essences', which for normal Blessed was a number that would take years to absorb, greatly changing his qualitative strength.
*Hiiiiiicccccccc!!!!!!!*
The boar started screaming, both because he felt the cut on his back and because of the searing pain that those flames caused when they burned the inside of his body, making him lose his balance and fall to the ground, desperate for relief.
This screamed left the other three boars on alert again, causing their curiosity to force the three to turn around and find out who the enemy was. But at that point they made their second mistake in that battle.
The imps that Noah had summoned were not dummies that just stood there. Seeing the opportunity, the three imps ran even faster for the boars and using what they had at hand, all of them left a cut on the b.u.t.t of each boar that turned, and of course, one of these cuts was caused by the [Fire Claw] of one of the imps, causing another boar to scream in pain.
But because of the difference in strength between the imps and Noah, their cuts were more shallow and superficial than the cut caused by Noah, after all, this imp had only absorbed a little more than 20 essences, by order of Noah.
To make an equal distribution in this situation would have been stupid. This imp definitely needed more strength and endurance than the other two imps, so Noah ordered 50% of the collected essences to go to him, while the other two imps would receive 25% each while protecting the totem.
This made the other two imps a little sad, but after hearing that when they found suitable essences for each one, they would be given priority to absorb them, it made the imps cheer up again and look forward to the day they would be able to absorb as much essence as their brother. However, their mood soured even a bit more after seeing that their brother was able to cut the stone skin of these monsters that was so resistant much more easily than they were.
Ignoring the boar that fell in front of him, Noah teleported again, this time to the boar that had been attacked by the imp that had [Healing Flames], as this boar had suffered the least damage. Taking advantage of the distraction of the boar's cut, Noah this time made a cut on the boar's head, killing him immediately by destroying part of that monster's brain, which did not even have the opportunity to scream in pain.
This made sure that only one remaining boar was not on fire, and another one could still run, ignoring the pain he felt, leaving the third agonizing on the ground when he was burned and the last just lying dead and being absorbed by the flames Noah had left behind.
While the people on the invasion team did not want to believe that Noah alone was managing to deal with a group of monsters that they themselves were unable to deal with, they could not ignore what was happening in front of them that decreed it a fact. This kid really had the strength to handle a group of monsters that they couldn't handle.
And what made the vast majority of these people have a bad taste of envy in their mouths, in fact, for the captain was as sweet as hot chocolate on a cold morning.
Not only did he discover that this boy had the two rarest Blessings a human could receive, but the young man's battle power was even greater than a group of 13 Blessed Ones.
Of course, he was only more powerful than this group because they were all idiots who wanted to be protagonists to collect merit points. If they had cared at least a little bit about maintaining order and doing the work that had been a.s.signed to them, surely they could handle this group of monsters as easily as Noah, without even wasting as much energy using as many skills as Noah was being forced to do.
'If this boy is put on a team with actual good Blessed who follow the rules, our Khan family will take off among the families of the capital. No longer will we have to hear the other families making fun of us; we just need to give this kid enough room to grow and in a few years' time he will definitely reach Rank B and can already be counted as one of the main strengths of the family,' the captain thought in amazement as he watched Noah deal with these monsters with such mastery, to a level that the captain was doubting whether he would be able to do something similar himself without relying on the brute force he had acquired by absorbing so many essences for so many years.
But the captain just couldn't imagine that Noah was Blessed with a Blessing just a few months ago, and that, in fact, the other years he had had as a Blessed were spent without an actual usable Blessing.
All the strength that Noah had acquired had been obtained in less than three months. Who could say that he had to wait a few years, maybe in just a few months Noah would be able to handle what the captain envisioned.
