Chapter 544 Don’t Boast If You Don’t Have The Ability
Everyone took a few steps back in fear and stared at Yao Mengqing.
Yao Mengqing looked embarra.s.sed. This horse was very gentle when it was with Qiao Xi just now. Why did it suddenly become irritable when she was riding it?
It was impossible that she could not control a horse that Qiao Xi could!
Yao Mengqing smiled awkwardly. “I haven’t ridden a horse in a long time. I’m probably a little rusty, so I scared the horse.”
The people behind her quickly comforted her. “It’s okay. This horse looks very fierce, but you’re skilled in horse riding. It’s only a matter of time before you tame this horse.”
Yao Mengqing’s expression softened a little. She was so nervous that her palms were sweating, but she gritted her teeth and held the reins tightly. She stepped on the stirrups and tried to get on the horse again,
However, the horse was even more irritable. It jumped up crazily and shook her off it.
There was complete silence.
Yao Mengqing tried three times but could not even get on the horse. This was enough to prove that Yao Mengqing’s riding skills were just so-so. Yao Mengqing, who originally thought that her riding skills were superb, was so embarra.s.sed that she wished she could find a hole to hide in.
No one dared to say anything. Only Qiao Xi looked at her with a serious expression and sighed. “Sigh! Miss Yao, you kept saying that you were skilled in riding, but you can’t even get on the horse!”
The air was eerily quiet. The horse stood obediently to the side, its eyes innocent as if everything happening had nothing to do with
it.
The corners of Yao Mengqing’s mouth twitched slightly. Her expression was ugly. She grabbed the reins tightly and gritted her teeth as she forced herself onto the horse.
Qiao Xi’s eyes narrowed slightly. That was a horse given to her by her eldest brother. She was usually unwilling to even scold it, yet Yao Mengqing was actually treating her baby so fiercely.
Yao Mengqing finally heaved a sigh of relief after getting on the horse. She turned around and smiled. “Xi Xi, this horse is indeed a little temperamental. Fortunately, I didn’t let you ride it just now. Otherwise, you would’ve gotten in trouble if you fell and got injured.”
At this moment, Yao Mengqing felt that the horse under her was a little anxious. It moved back and forth, pulling the reins and tightening its neck. Her voice carried a hint of fear. “This horse is just like a human being. If you’re a little more forceful with it, it’ll be obedient. Xi Xi, you don’t know how to ride. If you simply get on the horse, you’ll definitely… Ah!”
Before she could finish, the horse suddenly let out a long neigh and galloped anxiously. It shook its hooves crazily in an attempt to shake off the person on its back. Yao Mengqing was shocked and held the reins tightly.
Her actions seemed to be hurting the horse, so it became even more irritable and swung it with all its might.
“Ah!”
Yao Mengqing instantly felt the world spin as she fell to the ground. Fortunately, she was wearing protective gear. Her injuries were not too serious, but she still felt sore all over.
Seeing this, Yao Mengqing’s admirers instantly rushed over to help her. They shouted, “Second Young Master Gu, the horses in your ranch are wild and difficult to tame. It actually injured Miss Yao. What do you think we should do about this?!”
“That’s right. This wild horse injured someone! We shouldn’t let it live. I think we should just kill it to avenge Miss Yao.”
Yao Mengqing was angered to the point of gnas.h.i.+ng her teeth. This b.a.s.t.a.r.d was simply like Qiao Xi, deliberately going against her. Not only did it cause her to lose face, but it even injured her. She should kill it.
“Didn’t Miss Yao say that her riding skills are superb? Actually, they’re just so-so!”
Qiao Xi chuckled as she spoke with a carefree tone, but she had a surprised expression on her face. “I’ve learned something today. You want to kill a horse just because you can’t tame it? Second Young Master Gu is running a horse ranch, not a slaughterhouse. You say you’re here to support Second Young Master Gu, but why do I feel like you’re here to cause trouble?!”
Gu Yao hurriedly echoed, “That’s right. Don’t boast if you don’t have the ability. You’re not good at riding, yet you insisted on riding a horse. Sister Mengqing, you want to kill the horse just because you couldn’t tame it. How can I continue operating this ranch, then?!”
Yao Mengqing’s face turned pale.
Qiao Xi said slowly, “Miss Yao, you spent so much effort s.n.a.t.c.hing my horse away. I thought that your riding skills were very commendable, but I didn’t expect that you still fell after finally getting on it.”
Gu Yao snorted in disdain. “Sister Mengqing, forget it. You want to kill the horse just because you can’t tame it? I can’t afford it. However, you fell and injured yourself on my ranch. Hence, the medical fees will be on me. Quickly send her to the hospital!”
The two of them spoke one after another, making Yao Mengqing so angry that her face turned livid.
