Chapter 817: Chapter 815-Envy Can Kill.

"I didn't do anything to Carmel, we are just some good friends. If you have any doubts, you can ask her when she returns."

My words were still not very believable to Ella, but she knew what I had done for Carmel, and thus, she didn't try to push it as Ella spoke.

"Thank you for helping Carmel to cure her sister. The little girl deserves to live a normal life at least, at least she deserves to try to live it."

A small sadness at the end of her voice as Ella spoke of this, these words being added to the pity Ella felt for Tria. Though I kept my expression neutral at her words, just looking at Ella, she seemed to understand the fact that her tricks weren't working on me at all.

"Tsk...fine, what do you want in return for the help?"

"Good, what I want in return is the date chance that Lompak has."

"...?..."

A literal question mark appeared in the head of Ella at my words, the response she thought she would receive not being the one she got, as Ella, still confused, asked.

"Are you asking me out on a date?"

Her words carried a bit more height to them, though I could tell that she wasn't reluctant to it. So I leaned in a bit closer to Ella, looking directly into her eyes, my charm slowly spreading around, with me covering myself with my divinity as I replied.

"Yes, I am asking you on a date. Any problems with it?"

This sudden charm attack took Ella back by chance, her expression turning into a daze for a moment, her cheeks flus.h.i.+ng red, after which she shyly averted her eyes. I could tell how flattered Ella was, reading through her body: a spark of happiness, a more inch of pride, and even a hint of disbelief and confusion filled Ella at the fact that I had asked her out like this.

"Do you need me to do anything for you?"

Her words asked if there was something deeper to this date, to which I directly replied.

"Nope, I just want to take out the girl I am interested in on a date. I have been eyeing you for some time, you know."

My words only made Ella's heart beat faster as she turned to look at me, coming to see my serious expression and understanding the fact that I was indeed really asking her out on a date. This only flared up her self-pride, her greed, and her desires, and above all, she felt the thrill every woman feels when she gets attached to the better or alpha-like man.

"So you only thought of asking me out when I am about to get a date?"

A sudden question, more of a reflexive defence than a true question, to which I kept my expression serious as I replied.

"I have indeed been interested in you ever since I came back, but I had my busy schedule to deal with, which still doesn't mean I am letting you go to some punk-a.s.s like him. And I am definitely not letting him humiliate you."

My words had a strong presence to them, making Ella blush even more, she went forth to hold a bit of her hair in her hands, shyly twirling it within her fingers as she asked.

"So doesn't that mean I don't have to give you the date? After all, you won't let me get humiliated, would you?"

Her words had a light teasing tone to them, Ella trying her best to get her emotions under control, even trying to use her mana to control her heartbeat such that I wouldn't hear it. I fear that I would get to know how much flattered or excited she is by this.

"I would, though I still want the date. That is, if you aren't interested in me...then..."

As I trailed my words, I could see Ella's eyes widen a bit, my expression saying that I was serious, and she acted out.

"NO! Um...it's just...I am from another faction, its main information head, and you are from another faction, it's head. It could cause some issues with us both. And how can I be sure that you aren't using me just for my position?"

A moment of silence fell between the two of us after these words of Ella's, my gaze turning to look disappointed, which definitely shook Ella as I replied.

"I'm disappointed. Do you think I am the kind of man who would even do something like that?"

My question had an angered edge to it, and before Ella could reply, I raised my hand, blocking her as I continued.

"And if you are worried about anything, we can keep our date a secret. It's not like we will hit it off or anything from the first time. And if we do get along, I don't mind keeping it a secret." With that, before Ella could reply, I took off the barrier. She understood it and could only shut up with a frustrated expression on her face as I snapped my fingers, the spell below breaking and the electrical flow within the whole place being disturbed. I could see the eyes of Lompak widening at the situation as I looked at Ella, who seemed to have understood that something had happened.

"This is my sincerity. And give me some s.p.a.ce. I will contact you about the deal when I am ready."

With that, I vanished from where I stood, appearing right above the place, with my whole presence vanis.h.i.+ng off. The moment I did, a small commotion rose as everyone tried to turn and look for me while my gaze focused still on Ella, who was biting her nails a bit with an angered look on her face, no doubt angry at herself for what she had spoken out.

Ella, in a sense, is similar to Emily. That sight of seeing everything in a judgmental manner, always trying to see the goal or hidden intentions in something and always trying to profit from something. Though Ella doesn't have it as deep and bad as how Emily has it, but it's still there. She can be said more to be a professional woman, always trying to reach for the top. Just like those women back from my world who only have their own job and success in mind, not caring about the rest of the aspects in their life. And that's how Ella is. And that's also the reason why she still hasn't had a boyfriend or a lover. Ella is too dedicated to her job and trying to reach more heights in power, too, both personal and political.

Ella's plan of romance or love is to just mark some extremely successful guy out there whom she will be able to marry and have a family with, not the main prospect of love in her life. And I threw a small wrench into those plans of hers. And I, being a huge piece of bait, is something Ella will never be able to resist at all.

Getting to date me? The most wanted man in the whole realm right now is the golden ticket for her. And even she, who thinks about work and power, isn't able to deny my charms. She is, in the end, a woman after all. Though leaving aside the looks, I am still supremely desirable husband material for her.

One she had thought she had no chance with, seeing how high I work and how much power I hold. And now, a new path has opened up for her, and she will now not be able to resist what I give her. Not to mention, there still exists the dark desire in her heart, and it's quite a

perverted emotion indeed.

'Envy and jealousy.'

Something that Ella has had for Carmel her whole life. She envied the position and power that Carmel was born into, and she was jealous of all the bloodline gifts and power she was given. Ella doesn't hate Carmel, she just feels all those emotions in her, which makes it hard for Ella to be fully open with Carmel.

There is always the fact that Ella at times gets clouded over by Carmel, her presence and her achievements being at times linked more majorly to Carmel. And Ella accepted that. But that doesn't mean she likes it. Ella always would try to mark things in which she is more amazing than Carmel.

And the only thing she could mark was being a good thinker. But that's just one. In the rest, even to beauty, she seems to lose out to Carmel. Which has hidden in her heart a very deep, dark desire, and it's what is being used in the game, too. The only way normally in the game to get Ella's affection is only after seducing Carmel.

The fact of it is that when Ella knows that Carmel is interested in the player and then the

player goes toward Ella, seemingly only more interested in her, then that hidden envy and dirty emotions would flare up, sprouting and magnifying that ego of hers. And in the case when Carmel is involved, it only gets even worse.

The thought that she has something Carmel can't, the thought that the person Carmel thinks loves her is actually spending more time with Ella, that he likes her more than Carmel, is something that riles her up more than any drug can. She relishes in it and eventually gets so obsessed with those feelings that she will try to control the player more and more, which is when we get pushed into the bad ending.
