"I decline."

I spoke, my voice soft yet filled with the power of my convictions, which definitely surprised

Girika for a moment, after which her expression returned to normal. She seemingly thought of a chance of refusal from my side. Thus, Girika, leaning forward, spoke.

"May I ask why?"

"I just don't feel like doing it. I have formed some kind of bond here already, and I have no intention of jumping s.h.i.+ps for some profit. Even above all that, I don't really fear the power you guys hold."

Girika smirked a bit at my words, she seemingly contemplating her next words as she, after a few seconds, started to speak.

"A forthright spirit, a very intelligent mind, ability to hide all your cards, a charisma that seems out of this world, an ability never seen before by the world, and a certain another kind of charm that seems to be pulling in a lot of girls into your orbit-their love for you being formed within just some time after meeting you. Tell me, Austin, is it intentional or just natural?"

'She is fis.h.i.+ng the best she can.'

I mused internally, a bit impressed by the whole logic and information she had strategised through. To the world, I have always kept my presence within girls in the eyes of the public as natural or less noticeable as possible. To the rest of the world, I am as natural and innocent as the greatest spring that flows after winter.

But to the extremely intelligent ones and those with great drive, if they dig in too much, they will no doubt find some levels of things that don't match. Though even then, the openings I left were for them to find the fact these girls are in love with me-not the info of how and why it all came to be. That information can't be found unless it falls from the mouths of the girls themselves.

'She is trying to see if I can show her any weakness.'

The moment Girika asked me this question, her intense focus turned towards me, her eyes s.h.i.+ning, while those patterns had tuned into a vortex that could not be fought back. The question was a test-a test to see how I could react when asked this question, to see if she could get more information from observing my reactions.

But for her, she didn't find anything. I have absolute control over my expressions. All she got for her words was a very impa.s.sive face that didn't give anything away-not even a change in my body language to tell her anything about how or what was going through my mind. With the amount of data I have, it's very easy to hide my own unintentional movements that give off my thoughts.

"What does this question even mean?"

I finally asked back, making Girika chuckle as she licked her lips. Even her tongue looked as dangerous as it could be, as she replied.

"I am talking about the fact that when I looked through, seemingly many of the girls of the top faction are in love with you or are very deeply related to you. And this isn't some love born of l.u.s.t or because of your position-it's pure, genuine love they have for you. And when I looked through some stuff, some small issues between some powerful women didn't look anything rational. When rationality is not involved, it just means emotions-powerful emotions."

Her words had some teasing to them as Girika leaned fully forward, holding her head with both her hands supporting her chin, another kind of twinkle in her eyes as she asked.

"So that's my question: A man as smart and ruthless as you are sure to see their feelings for you, but it seems you haven't acted on any of it. Why? No, an even greater question is, how did they all genuinely fall in love with you?"

Her words made me smile-a very relaxed one-as I leaned in, our faces inches apart across the table as I spoke.

"I do not know why they have fallen in love with me, and I appreciate the fact they love me. But I have more important things in life I have to deal with. That's the reason I haven't responded to any of their desires."

My voice was straightforward and warm. Surprisingly, speaking with a lot of trust and openness in my voice, I made it a point to show Girika the truth with my words. She seemed to have believed it while layering it with an inkling of question in it. This was accepted as the truth by Girika because of the very fact of the info Girika knows in her own mind.

'Looks like all that playing is coming to a good end in this way.'

I mused at that thought. All the info that Girika knows is what I had shown her-or it's more accurate to say that she is picking up on what I had left over for any kind of genius who would later come to dig into my life. For, you see, even before Girika tried to dig into all this, I knew the fact that there would come a day when everything I did would come into question.

Taking the path I'm taking, I know for a fact that someday, an enemy or a genius combatant who understands the importance of getting all the info would one day come to face me. I have long since prepared for that day, making sure to leave open proofs just in case for them, such that when that day comes for me, I would be ready.

'She went beyond what I thought, though.'

Girika is, in all senses, indeed someone not to be messed with. She went in even more depth than I thought she would go in. The truth of it is that I always keep an eye on my people, and I knew the moment that something had started when some of my members detected the movement of Girika. That's when I started all of my later plans into this.

When the truth has to come out, I have made sure that only the truths I want will come out. The best part of it is the fact that it's a full truth coming from someone else I technically have no control over, and this makes it more credible, adding more layers of insurance and truth into it, which will only make things easier for me.

What Girika has gathered in the sense of my love life is the fact that many girls seem to be genuinely in love with me. Also, the fact that I don't have any existing love-like relations.h.i.+p with any girls shows what kind of person I am when it comes to women. It provides a more useful picture, which would help me in the long run.

It just shows me as someone that has the charm-like ability to get the love-genuine love- of all these girls but not sc.u.mbag enough to try them all. Or she might come to the conclusion that I am more cold-blooded than I show, which relates to the fact that she thinks I am someone who wouldn't get into any relations.h.i.+p because I would be focusing on some other important goal.

Overall, the giant picture would come to be very useful to me, showing me as someone with great control and someone never to be messed with an enigma in every sense of the way, a respectable enemy, one can say. All of this comes from the fact that I live a very private life and make sure to use the most ridiculous of powers and abilities to keep my relations.h.i.+ps

"You say you are not getting into any relations.h.i.+p due to the fact of having something to do, yet quite some heavy talks for engagement with Princess Olivia are going on. What's that

about?"

Her question made my eyebrows raise in surprise-the first genuine expression I have had, or at least that's how it will be seen from her perspective. While Girika didn't show it, I saw a small smirk of satisfaction that went through her being at seeing me so surprised.

"You have a good information network. Introduce them to me sometime," I spoke, keeping my eyes still focused on her, after which I continued.

"If your information network is as good as how it's going on your face, then you would also understand the fact that it's just talks. The Emperor wants to tie us together to have more power and to also keep me in check. You can understand why, right?"

My question being shot back was met with a subtle nod, the dynamic understanding of how the politics work being all too clear in the eyes of this girl. Hence, having answered, I went back for a relaxed lean, Girika still gazing at me as she asked.

"Just what is your end goal? Even with all I can understand, I just can't understand your end

goal."

I smirked at her question, gazing into those swirling eyes of hers for a second, after which I

spoke.

"The current you is incapable of seeing my end goal. I wish to achieve something that has never been achieved before, and I will crush anyone that stands in my way to achieve that

goal."

A simple yet powerful answer, to which, with a smile, Girika asked.

"What would happen if those other girls got to know about the fact that an engagement talk was going on? Would they watch on or... would they take action?"

A stunning silence fell after this innocent question from Girika, a chilling smile of a trickster filling her lips as she finally relaxed back into the seat, some small bullet having already been shot as the two of us eyed each other.
