Chapter 1711: He Thinks He's Above The World
Grey wasn't bothered about his chances of winning. With his ability, he's certain that he could defeat any of the Seventh stage Sovereigns the Pyro Faction had, he's just curious how he would fare against these people who are regarded as geniuses here. Personally, he didn't rate them that too. Staying inside a secret world their entire life meant that they've not experienced the trials of the outside world, and nothing hones an Elementalist's abilities better than repeatedly being in a life or death position.
Grey didn't think any of these people have genuinely been in a life and death position. People can get injured during sparring sessions, but they rarely get killed, unless it's on purpose, or an accident.
Too many people have tried to kill Grey on so many occasions, and some of them have even almost succeeded in a few instances. Grey is able to show this much strength all due to his ability to survive these experiences and learn from them. He has grown so much over the past years, and having a bounty placed on his head didn't make things easier.
The threat of the Gnomes has momentarily stopped some of those Families or Factions who thought they could benefit from Grey's death from actively searching for him. As long as Grey didn't encounter these people alone, he didn't have anything to fear. But if he were to meet any of them alone, the chances that they'll want to kill him is quite high. After all, the rewards promised by the Gnomes were very enticing.
'The number one person among the Seventh stage Sovereigns will automatically get a spot in the top ten. As long as I defeat the strongest person in the Seventh stage, I shouldn't have to bother about having to fight any longer.'
His eyes turned to the group of people on the platform as he wondered who was the number one person under the Seventh stage, not all of them had fought yet, as there was a group of four who no one had challenged. The group of four stood on the platform menacingly, and their aura seemed to want to make one avoid going up against them.
The Faction Leader had reminded him that he needed to get on stage soon if he wanted to partic.i.p.ate. Since he wasn't in the Seventh stage, he won't be given the same privilege of being able to get on stage whenever he wanted.
Grey could only sigh. These people wanted him to fight too many battles, and he didn't want that. He just wanted to defeat the strongest person and then go back to resting and enjoying the upcoming battles.
He stood up, and as everyone saw him get up, he attracted a lot of attention once again.
Most of the people in the crowd felt he wanted to leave, while there were a few who felt Grey wasn't done yet. And they were not wrong, Grey wasn't done yet. This was a chance for him to get something good related to the darkness element. He rarely gets things related to the darkness element, the light element was even rarer.
Thinking about it, if he had known, he would've asked for a light elemental treasure. Unfortunately, the time had pa.s.sed, getting a darkness elemental treasure wasn't bad too.
Grey walked slowly, climbing the stairs to the platform.
When those in the Seventh stage saw Grey's figure climbing onto the stage, they all knew why he was here.
One of them scoffed when he saw Grey. It's not that he didn't acknowledge Grey's strength, but that was when he was up against his fellow Sixth stage Sovereigns, against Seventh stage Sovereigns, they didn't think that Grey had what it took to bring anyone of them down.
Walking up on stage with all eyes on him wasn't what Grey expected, but being the stranger here, it's expected as he had beaten their expectations.
Grey informed the Elder in charge of the platform of his plans, and he was allowed to step into the platform.
He looked in the crowd of Seventh stage Sovereigns, and unlike the last time, he wanted to fight someone strong, to show them that he wasn't to be trifled with, and if the person with the number one spot didn't take the hint to forfeit to him, he'll beat him up too.
'Make a strong statement.'
This was the only thought in Grey's head. He didn't want others to challenge him, because they most definitely will if he defeats the person he picks now, and especially if the person isn't all that strong among the Seventh stage Sovereigns.
But if he were to defeat someone that's one of the top ten when ranked among the Seventh stage Sovereigns in the Pyro Faction, that will give him the chance to scare away others, while making sure he didn't need to get involved in another fight, unless it was against the number person when the compet.i.tion is about to end.
Amongst the Seventh stage Sovereigns, only the number one person is guaranteed a top ten finish. The rest will have to fight to be in the top fifteen, and even that isn't guaranteed as there were multiple Eighth and Ninth stage Sovereigns present to battle.
Grey wanted to make a big move, a bold move that'll make others apprehensive of him.
Everyone watched him, waiting to see who he'd pick to fight among the Seventh stage Sovereigns. They felt he might go in the same route as the last time, but not to compete for the top spot, but rather, just to get a spot in the top fifteen.
Grey's eyes glittered, and he looked at the group of four who were standing there menacingly. Their auras were more robust than that of others standing on the platform, so the chances of them being the strongest group here was quite high.
Grey's eyes were on this group, everyone saw him staring at them and someone from the crowd burst out laughing.
"He really thinks he's above the world! Hahaha!"
