Chapter 1408: Four Kings Arrive

Four individuals stood upright in the air above Heavenly Dragon City, and an immense and terrifying pressure that resembled an endless sea emanated from their bodies. Worldly natural energy roared as though welcoming the arrivals of these Kings.

The one at the forefront was an old man with a head of golden hair that was dazzling to the eye. He was garbed in violet robes with a golden dragon emblazoned on them. It was the Dragon's Blood Lineage’s Lineage Chief, Li Tianji.

Behind him were Lineage Chief Li Qingying of the Dragon's Scale Lineage, Lineage Chief Li Xuanwu of the Dragon's Bone Lineage, and Lineage Chief Li Jinjiao of the Dragon's Horn Lineage.

All of them had rushed over at the same time, which demonstrated how important the situation at the World's End River Region was.

At this point, the four of them were looking at Heavenly Dragon City with confusion. Their eyelids were twitching as though they could not believe what had happened.

"Where is Lineage Chief Jingzhe?" Li Tianji's low voice reverberated throughout every corner of Heavenly Dragon City.

No one dared to reply.

A few moments later, several people ascended into the sky. The one leading them was Dragon's Blood Lineage's Li Jiluo, and he respectfully greeted Li Tianji and the group. After which, he replied with a pained expression. "Lineage Chief, Lineage chief Jingzhe has fallen!"

Boom!

Terrifying fluctuations emanated from Li Tianji's body, causing the void to shatter in layers. It was as though the entire sky was a mirror that was breaking apart. Even Li Jiluo could barely resist the pressure; he could no longer breathe and his body was forced to bend uncontrollably.

However, the pressure dissipated as quickly as it came. Li Tianji had quickly suppressed his own energy and his expression turned steely green while the other Lineage Chiefs had expressions full of anger.

In truth, they had already received some snippets of information on what had happened. Furthermore, they couldn't sense any bit of Li Jingzhe's aura upon arriving, so they could already guess what had happened. However, now that their guesses had been proven to be true, their hearts were filled with turmoil.

"What exactly happened?!" Li Tianji was incensed and his gaze was frightening. Although he was a little wary of Li Jingzhe in the past, the latter was still the Dragon's Fang Lineage’s Lineage Chief and a pillar of the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li! Kings were the main pillars of Heavenly Emperor powers, and Li Jingzhe was even a Quasi-Triple Crown!

His fall had harmed the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li to the marrow. Li Jiluo then sadly explained what had happened.

"The Faceless Other King? Origin Reversion Inst.i.tute?”

As Li Jiluo recounted everything that had happened, the four Lineage Chiefs were left speechless and incredibly furious. They could scarcely believe that such a huge change had occurred to the Stygian Rain of Calamity. It was no wonder Li Jingzhe had fallen.

"Qin Jiujie deserves to die!" the Dragon's Bone Lineage’s Lineage Chief shouted. His body seemed to roar in tandem with his emotions, and the people down in Heavenly Dragon City could feel their bodies heating up, as though they could spontaneously combust at any time.

"The Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin has to pay!" The Dragon's Scale Lineage’s Lineage Chief said through gritted teeth.

"That vile brute has shed his ident.i.ty as a member of the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin, throwing his lot in with the Origin Reversion Inst.i.tute. The Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin is also in complete chaos because of this. However, this blood debt is something that the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li will never forget. We will make Qin Jiujie pay with his life one day," Li Tianji coldly stated. ?Ä₦Ȏ?Ę?

He then sucked in a deep breath and recomposed himself. "With Lineage Chief Jingzhe's fall, the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li has to give him the grandest farewell. As for the Dragon's Fang Lineage, it cannot be left leaderless. We will discuss a way to deal with this problem."

The three Lineage Chiefs nodded in unison. The Dragon's Fang Lineage was a behemoth in its own right, and without a leader, things could very easily go wrong. At this point, Li Jiluo awkwardly said, "Respected Lineage Chiefs, the Dragon's Fang Lineage already has a new Lineage Chief. Lineage Chief Jingzhe pa.s.sed the position down before he pa.s.sed on."

The four were slightly taken aback, and Li Tianji asked, "Is it Li Qingpeng? Although he has the qualifications, his strength is a little lacking. How can he possibly subdue the entire Dragon's Fang Lineage?"

Li Qingying then spoke up. "Although Li Qingpeng is an eighth-grade Duke, if this was Lineage Chief Jingzhe's final wish, we will support it. We will ensure that his contributions to the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li will not be forgotten."

"We will naturally do so," Li Tianji added.

Li Jiluo hurriedly interrupted them. "It's not Li Qingpeng. Lineage Chief Jingzhe pa.s.sed the position of Lineage Chief to Tan Tailan."

"Tan Tailan?" When they heard this unexpected name, the four Lineage Chiefs had expressions of astonishment on their faces.

Li Tianji frowned. "Didn't she leave the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent? How could she appear here? Furthermore, she is not from the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li, so how can she a.s.sume the position of Lineage Chief of the Dragon's Fang Lineage?"

"Lineage chief Jingzhe's appointment is a little strange," Li Qingying said.

All of them were taken aback by this. In terms of sheer qualifications, the oldest son Li Qingpeng was the most justifiable candidate to serve as the Lineage Chief. Li Tianji looked slightly miffed. Tan Tailan was their junior, so it might have been alright that she had not come out to greet them, but she actually had the gall to ask them to meet her instead? Li Tianji wasn't the Mountain Ruling Chief of the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li for nothing. He quickly calmed himself, showing depth of character, and asked, "What sort of strength does Tan Tailan possess now?"

Based on what Li Tianji understood of Li Jingzhe, the latter wasn't someone who made random decisions. His actions demonstrated that there was a method to the apparent madness.

"She wouldn't allow me to say," Li Jiluo replied as he was put on the spot again. He knew that Tan Tailan didn't hold any good feelings towards Li Tianji. Furthermore, when Li Taixuan and her were being chased by the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin all those years ago, it was Li Tianji that had made the final decision.

Protect Li Taixuan. Leave Tan Tailan be. Meanwhile, Tan Tailan had become a Greater Transcendent Duke, which was as mighty as a King. With her forceful personality, how could she possibly give face to Li Tianji?

Li Jiluo sighed in his heart. There had been a lot of friction between the Dragon's Fang and Dragon's Blood Lineages, and when Li Jingzhe was leading, he always acted calmly and maturely. Many times he would choose to endure, but Tan Tailan was not the same.

The Kings, however, paid them no heed and directly strolled into the main hall. When they walked in, they saw a lady in a purple coat sitting at the main seat of the vast hall. Behind her stood two young people, Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e. The lady was exceptionally beautiful and she had a graceful and extravagant bearing to her. In her hand was a cup of tea, which she brought to her lips and sipped slowly. It was then that she finally raised her eyes to look at the four who had just made their way in.

"Lineage Chief Tianji, it's been a while," she said in an indifferent voice.

The Kings couldn't help but to feel a little displeased when they saw how disrespectful she was acting as she sat at the head of the table.

However, their dissatisfaction only lasted for a moment as the void above Tan Tailan distorted and a golden throne bathed in gold and silver light emerged. Vast transcendent might radiated from it, sweeping through the entire building like a tide.

This pressure caused the three Single Crowned Kings—Li Xuanwu, Li Jinjiao, and Li Qingying—to tremble and step back. Two crowns materialized above Li Tianji, shrouded in pure energy that gave off the aura of source origin, allowing him to resist the impact of her might.

Even then, the layers of pure energy were constantly being dissipated as it attempted to resist Tan Tailan's aura.
