Chapter 1308: The Past
Editor: Atlas Studios
When she reached the door, she couldn’t help but turn around and say, “Arthur is fine. That knife didn’t hit a vital spot. The wound has been treated appropriately, but if the knife had been a little more slanted, he would be dead now.”
Jiang Yufei’s expression changed slightly, and she secretly clenched her fists.
She seemed to be in a dilemma.
When s.h.i.+ Qian saw Jiang Yufei’s expression, she knew that she had guessed correctly.
In this world, how could parents not love their children?
However, given what had happened to her, she wouldn’t be able to face Arthur for a while. She didn’t really want Arthur to die at her hands.
s.h.i.+ Qian closed the door and turned around, only to fall into a familiar embrace.
“It’s still early in the morning yet you are not resting. It seems that your body has almost recovered.” Fu Sinian hugged s.h.i.+ Qian’s soft waist and leaned close to her ear. In a voice that only the two of them could hear, he said, “I’m done with my work. We can go back to the room to sleep now.”
“Let’s go have breakfast first. I haven’t eaten yet,” s.h.i.+ Qian said quickly.
“Breakfast can also be delivered to the room.”
As soon as Arthur walked out of the house, he saw s.h.i.+ Qian and Fu Sinian being intimate in front of him. He immediately cleared his throat.
s.h.i.+ Qian immediately looked up from Fu Sinian’s arms and looked in Arthur’s direction.
“Good morning, Arthur.”
“Good morning. Do you want to have breakfast together?”
“Yes.” s.h.i.+ Qian immediately nodded and held Fu Sinian’s hand as they walked towards the cafeteria.
Fu Sinian and Arthur looked at each other and didn’t say anything.
The three of them each took some things and sat at the same dining table.
“Arthur, I just delivered breakfast to your mother.”
Arthur froze in the middle of b.u.t.tering.
“From now on, call her Ms. Jiang.”
“Oh,” s.h.i.+ Qian replied softly and glanced at Fu Sinian.
Fu Sinian placed the bread with strawberry jam in front of s.h.i.+ Qian.
s.h.i.+ Qian took a bite silently.
“Ms. Jiang’s parents were divorced, and her parents had their own families. No one was willing to raise her. Later, her father went overseas to settle down. One day, he suddenly came back and took Ms. Jiang overseas.”
“There were some problems with her father’s new family. The child of her father and his current wife had a very serious illness that required a lot of money to treat. Ms. Jiang’s father actually took her overseas so that she could earn money to treat his son.”
“Ms. Jiang was chosen by Duke Bliss. At that time, she was only twelve years old and became a maid in the Duke’s castle. I don’t need to tell you what happened after that.”
“Ms. Jiang escaped once and was personally sent back by her father. Moreover, her father received a large sum of money from Bliss and lived a rich life from then on. Bliss threatened Ms. Jiang to kill her father if she escaped again.”
“Ms. Jiang followed Bliss around every day. She couldn’t leave Bliss’ sight. She was like a rag doll carefully raised by Bliss and at his mercy.”
“Later, Ms. Jiang got pregnant. She wanted to secretly abort the child, but Bliss found out. He sent someone to supervise her 24 hours a day until she gave birth.”
“On the day the child was born, Ms. Jiang almost jumped off the castle with the child in her arms. Bliss separated the child from Ms. Jiang and locked her in the castle’s dungeon.”
“And it lasted for over twenty years.”
