Chapter 17

Steel

Yin Xun had already studied the map of the neighborhood. She ran around the predetermined route for about ten minutes when she suddenly saw a man running towards her from not far away.

Yin Xun’s steady heartbeat was chaotic for two seconds.

Her heart was not beating fast because she suddenly had feelings for this man, but because the man in front of her… was the half-naked man that she saw through the telescope last night!

Yin Xun’s running speed did not change, and she ran towards the man with a blank expression.

That man, the moment the two of them met, glanced at her.

The two of them did not speak.

Yin Xun returned to the villa, took a change of clothes, and went to the bathroom to take a shower. The warm water fell on her body, and she thought of the man’s gaze.

That gaze was very calm, as if it was the gaze of a stranger looking at another stranger.

However, Yin Xun knew very well that they were not complete strangers. Just yesterday, she had met her neighbor through the telescope.

Yesterday, she did not take it to heart because she felt that the two of them would not have much interaction in the future. However, it was different now. She did not expect her neighbor to have the habit of jogging in the morning. They would definitely meet more often in the future.

Yin Xun could not accept the man in the telescope looking at her with such an incomprehensible gaze again and again!

No matter what he was thinking, Yin Xun could not take it.

Control-loving people would have OCD in certain areas. Yin Xun was having OCD right now. She took three minutes longer than usual to shower.

After taking a shower, Yin Xun put on her clothes and went to work. This time, she did not b.u.mp into that man.

Before stepping into the office, Yin Xun made a decision in her heart. She had to deal with that man.

Otherwise, she would not even be happy running every morning.

When they arrived at the company, Yin Xun asked Mary to bring some doc.u.ments and materials to the construction site with her.

Mary was the secretary that Yin Xun had hired online. She was the one who had personally interviewed her. She was currently the one that she trusted the most among the company’s employees. Of course, it was only a relative trust.

The two of them arrived at the construction site. Yin Xun did not even hesitate and went straight to the warehouse.

Today was the day to restock the warehouse. There was nothing special about it. The old man who guarded the warehouse was still napping on the rattan chair, and several young workers were moving steel from the truck next to him.

When Yin Xun arrived, no one noticed her.

After two minutes, Yin Xun asked Mary to wake up the old man who was guarding the warehouse and get him to call the person in charge over.

The dazed old man ran to call the warehouse manager, Zhao Ming. Zhao Ming was the person in charge of the project at the bottom level. He had never seen Yin Xun before. After hearing of Yin Xun’s ident.i.ty, he was shocked and hurriedly said, “Manager Yin, are you here for an inspection? Why don’t you come to my office? It’s going to rain soon…”

“Feeling guilty?” Yin Xun looked at Zhao Ming and sneered.

Although Zhao Ming was fl.u.s.tered at first, he did not take Yin Xun seriously. He saw that Yin Xun was dressed exquisitely and beautifully. He guessed that she did not know anything, so he just wanted to get her to leave as soon as possible.

However, when Yin Xun asked this, Zhao Ming’s eyes widened and he looked at Yin Xun in shock.

Yin Xun could not be bothered to talk nonsense with him. He looked at the workers moving the things and said to Zhao Ming, “Tell me, how much did you charge? Who gave it to you? Where’s the account book? ”

The cold sweat on Zhao Ming’s head dripped down. He forced a smile and said, Manager Yin, I don’t understand what you’re saying…”

“I don’t like to say the same thing twice.” Yin Xun looked at Zhao Ming indifferently. Zhao Ming felt that Yin Xun’s eyes seemed to have seen through everything.

He could no longer lie under such a gaze, so he could only tell her everything.

It was almost noon when she was done with the construction site. It started drizzling, and Mary was about to make a reservation at a nearby restaurant when the company called.

After Mary hung up the phone, her expression changed drastically. “Manager Yin, this is bad. Liu Yi and Liu Cheng have come to the company. They look like they’re here to cause trouble. The chairman asked you not to return to the office for the time being.”

Yin Xun already had information on all of Yin Group’s business partners, so she naturally knew who Liu Yi and Liu Cheng were.

Liu Yi was Liu Ying’s father, and Liu Cheng was Liu Ying’s brother.

When Mary saw Yin Xun not saying anything, she thought that he was prepared to listen to Yin Cheng’s words and not return to the office. Mary heaved a sigh of relief and looked at the batch of steel that was about to be transported to the city’s testing center. She asked in confusion, “We only found out that there was something wrong with this batch of steel today. They shouldn’t have known about it so quickly…”

Yin Xun stood up slowly, and Mary hurriedly held an umbrella for him.

“They didn’t come here for that. Let’s go back to the company.”

“But…” Mary wanted to say something, but when she saw Yin Xun’s expression, she fell silent in the end.
