Chapter 1200: Chapter 1200: The Kind That’s Furious
“Any other requirements?” Zhou Hengyang shook his head helplessly, his wife was using vocabulary he had no idea where she learned from.
“Anyway, Su Qing has to like the guy herself, and of course, you have to meet more and spend time together on a blind date. It’s best if it’s successful, but if not, just treat him like a friend, as if getting to know more people,” Su Wen said with a mischievous smile.
“Okay, it’s almost Chinese New Year and everyone will have time, perfect for blind dates.” Zhou Hengyang agreed without a second thought, as for how his brother would react after finding out, that would be his brother’s own problem.
After all, Hengguang wouldn’t suffer any loss, at most, he would be angry.
The exploding kind of angry.
Thinking of his brother getting angry, Zhou Hengyang actually felt somewhat looking forward to it.
“Right, you haven’t told me yet, where did shameless Zhou Hengguang go?”
“He’s on a business trip out of town, responsible for the construction of a cross-river bridge, carrying the heaviest load as the chief engineer. He’s been at the project headquarters all of last month, and this time he rushed back overnight, his illness had not yet improved, and then he left again.”
He and his uncle were both against Hengguang going back immediately, but there was nothing they could do, everyone at the project headquarters was waiting for him, and the Zhou family’s rule was to die, even if it meant dying at your workpost.
If it were the old him, he definitely wouldn’t have come back and left his workpost.
Now, there was nothing more important than family, than a wife, although Hengguang was obstinate and rebellious in his bones, he’s been restraining himself, adhering to the Zhou family’s rules.
To tell the truth, it was indeed too tough for Hengguang. He has never been a person who plays by the rules, but for all these years he’s been bound in a cage.
“He didn’t want to go back, but had no choice.” Zhou Hengyang said with a shrug to his wife, “You know, after getting Su Qing and you so upset, just leaving like that would have been too irresponsible. So he refused to go, but then someone from above came to urge him, and they even prepared a whole team of medical experts to accompany him.”
“What?” Su Wen hadn’t expected Zhou Hengguang to be suffering so much, sick and yet forced to go. “I didn’t think he was the obedient type!”
“He’s indeed not the obedient type, but in his position, the burden is too heavy; there’s no way he could do otherwise.”
Zhou Hengyang realized his tone had become a bit heavy and immediately rubbed Su Wen’s silky long hair, saying with a smile, “Leave him be, that kid never ends up on the losing side, just watch! He’s going to torment everyone half to death with his bad mood once he’s back.”
He then recounted the time when Zhou Hengguang had first gone to help at Changhe and ended up tormenting the entire factory staff with a month of cafeteria food until everyone was sick of it, losing their appet.i.te at the sight of the meals served.
Su Wen couldn’t help but laugh hearing the story.
“Let’s go, it’s too cold outside, let’s head back.”
Zhou Hengyang, who was used to being outside, didn’t mind, but it wasn’t okay for his wife; a walk should last no more than twenty minutes, anything beyond that and she would get cold.
So, the couple walked back hand in hand.
Tall and with warm palms, Zhou Hengyang held Su Wen’s hand, giving her an extra sense of security.
While walking, Zhou Hengyang stayed on the outside, protecting Su Wen on the inside, always paying attention to the road conditions.
Su Wen found his cautious stance amusing – anyone who didn’t know better would think they were shooting a spy thriller, infiltrating enemy territory!
“Is it really necessary to be so exaggerated?”
“Better safe than sorry,” Zhou Hengyang said, his nerves had been on edge ever since his wife became pregnant. At night, he would wake up several times, checking if his wife was cold, or if she had kicked off the covers…
