Chapter 165: A ferocious tiger (3)
How ridiculous. He actually felt that Mu Mingtang would definitely not leave his side on her own initiative. How could he dare to have such self-confidence? All of this may simply just be him flattering himself.
But Xie Xuanchen hoped that this was really the case, and Mu Mingtang would not come back after running out.
Mu Mingtang really couldn't understand why he didn’t keep such a life saving medicine by his side, but chose to place it in the medicine room. The whole wall here was filled with wooden drawers, which stored all kinds of medicinal materials. Xie Xuanchen only said that it was in the medicine room, but did not say which drawer it was in. Mu Mingtang could only search for it one drawer at a time.
Mu Mingtang's hands were shaking anxiously. Afterwards, she didn't have the mood to recover everything to its original state. She frantically pulled on the drawers. If it wasn’t it, she would just throw it aside. A pile of medicinal materials were quickly scattered on the floor. After Mu Mingtang made a mess, she finally found the Jing Erdan that Xie Xuanchen had mentioned.
Mu Mingtang hurried back to Yulin Hall, only to find that the front door was filled with people at the moment.
The doors and windows in the Yulin Hall’s middle hall had been violently dismantled by iron hooks. The soldiers formed three layers of formation. The outermost layer held s.h.i.+elds, the second layer held knives, and the last layer held crossbow arrows. Together, they became a giant killing machine, heavily surrounding the Yulin Hall.
After heavily guarding the area, there stood Xie Xuanji and Jiang Mingwei in clothes made of brocade. Jiang Mingwei nestled on Xie Xuanji, looking soft and elegant, like a good wife who fought side by side with her husband.
Mu Mingtang asked the maids to call for the imperial physician, but the maids did not call for the imperial physician at all, instead they brought the soldiers.
When Mu Mingtang remembered what had happened the last time, the blood in her body went cold. Last time, these people brought bows, arrows, iron hooks, and spears. They didn't want to cure Xie Xuanchen, they just wanted to kill him.
Mu Mingtang couldn’t care less anymore, and ran in as she lifted her skirt. Xie Xuanji was briefing the army on their attack, when he suddenly heard someone running from behind him, he turned his head quickly.
He was surprised when he saw Mu Mingtang.
"It’s you?" After Xie Xuanji said this, seeing as Mu Mingtang wasn’t about to stop, he frowned and said, "Stop her."
After Mu Mingtang was stopped by them, all the past grievances and graces rushed to her heart, she gritted her teeth and said: "Get away from me!"
Upon hearing her voice, Jiang Mingwei also turned around. Seeing that it was Mu Mingtang, she raised her eyebrows in surprise: "Second sister-in-law? Why are you here?"
Her words sounded as if she was caring for Mu Mingtang, but Jiang Mingwei’s real thoughts were why are you here and why are you still alive?
Xie Xuanchen lived up to everyone’s expectations and went crazy again. The maids ran to the Jin Manor in a panic and asked for help. Xie Xuanji sprung into action when he heard about this. Jiang Mingwei wanted to glorify her biography in the future, so she followed along.
Jiang Mingwei had heard about the imperial physician’s diagnosis from Mrs. Jiang, as long as Xie Xuanchen went manic again, he would be hanging on a thin thread from death. Most likely, this would be their last time seeing Xie Xuanchen.
On such an important occasion that would determine what would be written in the history records, of course Xie Xuanji would have to be present. Jiang Mingwei didn't want to miss such a good opportunity either. Without even changing her clothes, she followed along in a hurry.
When they came to Yulin Hall, all the attendants had already run away, and those who did not run out were a.s.sumed to be dead. Jiang Mingwei did not see Mu Mingtang in the crowd, and thought that Mu Mingtang had already been killed from Xie Xuanchen’s frantic killing spree.
Wasn’t that the case?
Jiang Mingwei was somewhat disappointed, but she thought of the fact that Xie Xuanchen was about to die, and letting Mu Mingtang live slightly longer would not make a difference at all. Not dying in Xie Xuanchen's hands, she could be used by Jiang Mingwei to vent her anger.
