Chapter IBMLS Ch.59 The wedding (1)
It’s a must to wreck my ex’s wedding.
Mu Mingtang walked back, and when she heard Xie Xuanchen’s words, she felt both afraid and embarra.s.sed.
Fortunately, a thought came to mind. Otherwise, Xie Xuanchen and her would have been caught on the spot today. Mu Mingtang sighed, she sat on the side of the bed, and said, “He is Prince Jin, how can I stop him from doing what he wants? I obviously told him the truth, but he still doesn’t want to believe it.”
Xie Xuanchen was not interested in matters that had to do with love, however, the two protagonists were his cousin and his wife, and so a weird emotion surged in his heart.
A smile flashed in Xie Xuanchen’s eyes, his tear mole was brought into the spotlight by the smile. But his smile did not have any warmth to it, just like ice, it looked good on the outside, but hidden underneath was his evil schemes, just like ice crystals that will condense into an icicle in the next moment and penetrate her heart.
Xie Xuanchen knew that he was good at seeing through people. He stared at her for a while and found that Mu Mingtang didn’t seem to be faking it. He was slightly curious: “You two were once engaged for about three or four months. He came to look for you again and again, and he even personally came to invite you to his wedding. Are you sure that you really won’t miss him?”
“No.” Mu Mingtang said without hesitation, she gritted her teeth and said, “I’m just mad. Everyone thinks that I’m deeply in love with him, and he’s the one who doesn’t feel the same towards me. Even he himself thinks that too. Nonsense, everyone knows how to act, I’ve never liked him even since the beginning.”
Mu Mingtang didn’t look like she was lying, but Xie Xuanchen was a little skeptical: “Really?”
It’s not that Xie Xuanchen didn’t believe in Mu Mingtang, it’s just that it was practically impossible if thought logically. Xie Xuanchen couldn’t stand his cousin who came from Lin’an ever since he was a child. He thought that he was slightly pretentious, but Xie Yi liked him. Xie Yi was never nice to Xie Xuanchen, but he always praised Xie Xuanji. Xie Yi felt that Xie Xuanji was gentle and filial, patient and diligent, he also had a good sense of self-control. On the other hand, Xie Xuanchen was way too arrogant.
Because of Xie Yi, Xie Xuanchen didn’t have a good impression of Xie Xuanji, but in fact, Xie Xuanji’s was widely praised by outsiders. Especially from women, Xie Xuanji was a talented person with a n.o.ble status and a gentle temper, which made him very popular among women. Xie Xuanchen trained the soldiers all day long and he didn’t have time to pay attention to these trivial matters. He knew that quite a few of the young ladies saw Xie Xuanji as their dream lover.
This is the case for women who have only seen Xie Xuanji once or twice, not to mention Mu Mingtang and Xie Xuanji had been together for a year, and she even became his fiancee. Did Mu Mingtang really feel nothing towards Xie Xuanji?
Xie Xuanchen smiled on the outside, but his eyes were still hunting for a clearer answer. Mu Mingtang recalled the past and gave out a long sigh: “Which woman would never dream of such a fairytale? The fiance in my dreams would be gentle and n.o.ble, but also solely in love with me. If I were Jiang Mingwei, I would also fall for him.”
“But I’m not her.”
Xie Xuanchen’s gaze s.h.i.+fted slightly and he didn’t not speak at all. Mu Mingtang continued: “He always saw me as Jiang Mingwei, and he always complained to me about parts that didn’t resemble her. Which woman would be willing to be someone else’s subst.i.tute, and be treated like a person that was just a wrong choice? I even had to follow her date of birth, horoscope and hobbies, ha, why would I fall for him?”
Xie Xuanchen thought for a while, he accepted this reason. He asked purely out of curiosity: “Since you’re not willing to live under the shadows of another woman, why don’t you tell him?”
