Chapter 6 – Who's faster, the wind or her?
"Yes?" He grunted coldly, shaking his head, his manner towards her still ill. "Making me worry, do you have a death wish? What would you do if something actually happened?"
He was right, she had almost gotten into an accident. Yan Xuan stuck out her tongue, "aren't I standing here and being a good girl?"
Seeing him have no reaction, she started explaining, "butler Tang, look, if you're eating and I see it, how would you feel?" The answer was embarra.s.sed, pitiful little glutton, she didn't frown even a little when she finished all the snacks from the stalls, but the feeble butler was not like that, if he felt something wrong with his stomach, he would go to doctor Sun to get it fixed, even sharing food with her was difficult.
But it just so happened that the butler was unexpectedly obedient. Excluding his duties, he would spend all his remaining rest time following her, constantly at/on her heels, paranoid that anything would happen to her. With a tagalong like that, how could she have the appet.i.te to eat?
Tang Beichen thought a little, and realizing that it made sense, he relaxed a little. She watched his body language, persisting, "also, butler Tang, you have your own stuff to do, build a time machine, make fun toys. Wasting your youth on me is really useless."
"That's true." He sighed faintly, patting her shoulder. "Since this little lady is going out of her way to be considerate of me, who am I to turn down any offers and embarra.s.s her?"
Huh? It was this easy to say it? Yan Xuan was a little amazed, but, in her heart, she was smirking. Butler Tang Do his words mean to convey to her father that he no longer wants to follow her?
His smile was very pretty and bright, but his following words were poisonous and hurtful. "I'll go speak with the Hou Ye, and you can start learning martial arts tomorrow, that way, even if I'm not following you, the little Miss can stay safe and sound."
Boom, boom——lightning and thunder, Yan Xuan's face went blank.
Wh-what? Study martial arts!?
G.o.d, please send a ray of lightning and strike this person down!
Learn martial arts? Learn to dance? The difference between the two was huge!
Yan Xuan gloomily complained to the Li Si, "you say, isn't this equivalent to shooting myself in the foot?"
'Whatever,' Li SI said inwardly, but, to prevent getting hit, he just laughed mildly two times, "a girl learning martial arts isn't all that bad, self defense."
"Self defense? Exempt that, defending from robbers would be better." She squared her shoulders, staring at the kind face in front of her, solemnly saying, "butler Tang said I have a difficult personality, my temper is not great, I can't walk for long because I'm weak, I'll end up swaying like a willow tree, my table manners are especially bad, and I'm not supposed to go out much in fear I might scare some faint hearted men. The only thing I need to protect is my little purse."
What did Li Si think? That she was wrong or the the butler was wrong?
"Don't overthink it, or you'll grow white hairs." Li Si carried her down from the rock garden, his ears turning a little red, "let's go fly kites."
Kites?? Yan Xuan opened her eyes in delight, pulling his finger to go out, "come on, come on, come on, let's go immediately, let's go now, we have to go."
Li Si looked at the hand she was pulling on, the corner of his mouth turning up, an enchanting arc.
Flying kites was very fun, but, did she have to sacrifice her foot for this?
Doctor Sun helped cure her injured foot, stroking his white beard, "you little girl, able to injure her foot so much from flying a kite, it's truly amazing."
"Doctor Sun, do you think the wind is faster or do you think I'm faster?"
"Obviously the wind is faster." Doctor Sun eyed her, replying.
"Then if a kite borrows the power of the wind, I can't beat it, then of course one would fall." She lowered her eyes, looking as obedient as a little sheep.
Did this sentence really sound so strange? Doctor sun thought a little bit, but he couldn't find a single loophole in the sentence. "What you say is true, well then why don't you wait until you have longer legs to fly a kite again."
"Pu——" Li Si, who was sitting over there, sipping his tea, spat out a mouthful of tea.
Yan Xuan mischievously winked at him, opening her mouth a little, seemingly saying something.
Docter. Sun. Is. Getting. Old.
Li Si understood her mouthing, and he couldn't help but smile.
Seeing doctor Sun turn over to face them, Yan Xuan resumed her obedient sheep appearance. Li Si's heart started a little, and he couldn't help but walk over, bending down. "Does it still hurt?"
"It doesn't hurt, doctor Sun's medicine works very well, it's nice and cold, it's even more comfortable than before I got injured."
Doctor Sun heard this, and he turned cheerful, and a.s.sumed an old fas.h.i.+oned att.i.tude, saying to Li Si, "young man, you worry about your housewife very much."
"Doctor Sun, I haven't even put my hair into a bun yet." Yan Xuan wrinkled her nose, saying.
(T/N: When a female is taken/gets married, she has to keep her hair up to show that she isn't available. I'm not very clear on this matter, so this is what I think it means)
"RIght," doctor Sun watched her brush her hair, smiling absentmindedly. "The old geezer gets it, you two……"
And then it was silent. Yan Xuan, face dark, hopped off the chair, almost twisting her other foot.
Li Si watched her hobble out the door, hastily putting a silver coin on his desk, following her out.
This lad was truly generous. With that thought in mind, doctor Sun kept the silver coins in his sleeves.
Sorry this took so long~~
There’s been a few technical difficulties that we’re dealing with and they still haven’t been solved, so my apologies. I promise to work harder when everything clears up and I might even pick up another novel!
Also, apparently most translators put their notes at the top of the page rather than the bottom. Would you guys like me to do that as well to keep consistency?
