Those Sweet Times
Chapter 63 Part 1
Lin Xueyuan really didn't want to admit that the person with a weird hairdo in front of him was his son.
With a long face, Lin Xueyuan walked into the study. Then he turned sideways and looked at the other person in the room more clearly.
It seemed like Lin Chuyan's father was rather short-tempered which made Xiang Nuan a little afraid of him. She greeted him in a tiny voice: “How are you, uncle.”
Lin Xueyuan: “......”
He remembered scaring this girl the first time they'd met and now, irritated by his son's weird hairdo, he had scared the girl again…...embarra.s.sed, Lin Xueyuan felt somewhat guilty. He only hoped that with a little luck, the girl might have forgotten their first meeting and didn't recognize him.
While he was dealing with guilt, so was Xiang Nuan. She had come into their home and braided his son's hair into so many braids…...No wonder Lin Xueyuan wasn't too happy about it.
Lin Chuyan pulled off all the hair bands and casually combed his hair with his hand, returning his hair back to his original hairdo, though still somewhat messy.
Lin Chuyan was rather calm. “Dad, this is Xiang Nuan.”
“How are you?” Lin Xueyuan nodded to Xiang Nuan. He tried his best to speak gently and in a cordial voice, like a patient kindergarten teacher. Lin Xueyuan said: “I came in just to look for a hammer. Sorry, am I interrupting anything?”
“No, no, no. Not at all.” Xiang Nuan stammered. Strangely, Xiang Nuan wondered why her stammering felt so familiar……
Lin Chuyan bent down to pull his tool box out and opened it for his father. He curiously asked: “Why do you need a hammer?”
“There's a kitten downstairs that got trapped inside a vase and can't get itself out. I figure I'll probably have to break the vase.” Lin Xueyuan had the hammer in hand and seemed to be quite the gentle person. “Auntie Zhang's son is sick and in the hospital, she won't be able to come and cook dinner for us. I'll make the dinner for you…...Xiang Nuan have dinner here with us. Don't be a stranger, let me know what you like to eat.”
“Thanks, uncle.”
“Alright, I'll let you be. I have to rescue that dumb cat.”
After his father left, Lin Chuyan told Xiang Nuan: “My dad's a good cook. But he doesn't cook a lot because he's too busy.”
Lin Xueyuan carried the hammer downstairs and the first thing he did was call his wife, Yue Yingying. “Wife, come home quick. Chuyan brought his girlfriend home!”
Yue Yingying was having afternoon tea with a female artist. The artist was quite talented and easy to get along with. Yue Yingying liked her very much and was planning to sign the artist with her gallery.
After receiving the phone call from her husband, Yue Yingying left the artist and hurried home.
A talented artist wasn't as important as his son's future wife.
Yue Yingying was well aware that at this point, it was only Chuyan's wish that Xiang Nuan could be his girlfriend.
No matter what, Yue Yingying felt like she had to go meet this pretty girl as soon as possible.

Yue Yingying walked in the house and saw Lin Xueyuan sitting in the living room working on his laptop. The living room was a good place to watch people come and go in the house.
Yue Yingying took off her coat, put down her bag, then walked over and sat next to Lin Xueyuan. “What's going on? That girl is still here?”
“Why did you come back so fast? Were you speeding?”
“No, no. I didn't run into too many red lights…...Where's Chuyan? Where's that girl he brought back?”
Lin Xueyuan gave his wife a meaningful look: “They're watching a movie.”
“Oh? Where? Outside or at home?”
“In the bas.e.m.e.nt.”
