When s.h.i.+mura also had pointed out his good mood today, he was cheerful enough to tell her something kind of good happened to him. When it was finally his long-awaited lunch break, he headed to the usual spot with a fast pace. He sat on the bench, said good afternoon, and heard the usual “hey” from behind him. Tatsumi turned around, smiling widely. 

“Thank you so much for yesterday!”

In the end, he hadn’t done anything, but he was able to relax. Thanks to the quick treatment of his burn, it hadn’t become any worse, and by morning the pain had completely gone down. When he reported that, all he received in response was, oh, I see. Opposite from Tatsumi’s bubbling high spirits, Kusamakura’s replies were curt as usual. When Tatsumi finally calmed down, he took out his lunch, starting to feel somewhat awkward. They exchanged some small talk as he chewed on his egg sandwich. Kusamakura didn’t usually respond to him enthusiastically or anything, but for some reason his replies were more spa.r.s.e than usual today. He may have felt more relaxed around Kusamakura since he had invited him to his home. So perhaps his behavior that wasn’t any different from yesterday just felt distant to him now. 

“&h.e.l.lip;&h.e.l.lip;you didn’t feel any gazes on you, or anything else today?”

“Ah, no. Not at all.”
