“There isn’t!”

The System’s reply was blunt and straightforward.

It had answered in an apathetic voice like a slick scoundrel.

“He, he, tras.h.!.+” Xu Que sneered coldly. He also adopted an aloof att.i.tude and just exited the System’s interface!

Xu Que had expected this outcome, because if the System had really been able to help him hide from this crisis, he would have used it long ago when he faced danger.

After all, Version 10.0 was too weak, and it couldn’t keep up with his current needs in many different situations.

The current situation was similar to the movie “Final Destination”. Xu Que had learned about the danger in advance, yet it was still difficult for him to change the final outcome and escape from the Grim Reaper.

The sole difference was that in the movie, the protagonist got to know in advance the danger he would face in detail, but Xu Que didn’t get such a privilege. The only thing he knew was that he was supposed to die in 40-plus days.

“I think I must guard against them,” Xu Que muttered to himself.

b.u.t.tface quickly managed to find some clues about the hidden entrance of the valley.

“I remember it. The entrance was there through an ancient tree,” b.u.t.tface pointed at a vacant region near them and spoke excitedly. “But that ancient tree has already been dug out and taken away by me, while the whole area within the mountain has been exposed. Now, it has surely been destroyed. Ha, ha, ha!”

Xu Que promptly rolled up his sleeves, and he was about to charge at b.u.t.tface to beat him up.

But Duan Jiude quickly stopped Xu Que. “Lad, don’t be impulsive! Don’t be impulsive! It’s too good for him to get just a beating. Tonight, we must make a stew of dog meat.”

As a matter of fact, Xu Que wasn’t any longer as motivated to find the Chiliad Gold Resurrection Vines as before.

Originally, he had planned to depend upon the two souls to rule the Heaven Continent and do whatever pleased him here.

But the prediction made him come back to his senses and warned him of something. Leaving those two souls next to him wasn’t any different than living next to a time bomb. If they discovered that Xu Que wasn’t really their descendant, they might kill him.

This was an extremely dangerous matter, and just the thought of it was terrifying.

“This area is too vast, and we won’t finish searching it in less than a month. It’s especially the case since some entrances are hidden.” Duan Jiude shook his head and sighed.

b.u.t.tface had let them down at this crucial juncture, and even Duan Jiude found this a pity. If they couldn’t find the Chiliad Gold Resurrection Vines, the two souls would dissipate after enough time had pa.s.sed.

He said, “I didn’t just run over several thousand miles, I have made a round trip. I have gone as fast as possible, and you have to reward me. Tonight, I want to eat Boiled Smelly Tofu, as well as simmer-fried Duan Jiude.”

“Get lost! You are eating, eating, and eating once again. You only know eating all day long. Kiddo, I think that this is a matter of vital importance, and we must first hurry over there.
