After a moment, he asked, "When this is all over, are you going to go see your family?"
She nodded. "I'd like to. I haven't thought about it too much."
"Doesn't seem like Thomas and Jake were like a second family."
"Definitely not."
"I had that with the Marines so it wasn't so bad. There's a lot of camaraderie there, but nothing beats your real family."
"This is true." Having lost her parents had robbed her of that.
"I don't really miss the Marines, except for some of the guy stuff involved. I felt sort of like I'd made my point, if there was one."
She gazed at him curiously. "Was there?"
"Maybe. To prove to myself I could be a Marine, at first, then to be a great sniper, and the ever-present desire to do the best thing for my country, even my family by extension. But in the end, I decided I'd done my part and the best thing for me and my family was to come home. In one piece."
"Do you have any PTSD?"
He put down the wine after a sip. "No. You? I have a pretty clear conscience about everything I had to do mostly because I decided to trust my orders. I know you didn't have that trust."
She shrugged and looked away. "No, I don't have the clinical symptoms of PTSD, I think. A traumatic decade of my life, but with the last day's events, I feel like the time for bulls.h.i.+t, even my own, is over."
That didn't tell him what she might be going through. "What symptoms do you have? If you don't mind my asking."
She blew out an exasperated breath and laid a hand on his arm. "Hard to say. Things just changed twice for me pretty quickly, going back to Thomas, then this week. Before that...I don't know. Getting through life on my own hardened me. It was depressing, and lonely. And I didn't have much hope for getting on with my life. I think I held up pretty well, considering."
He squeezed her hand. "I agree from what you've told me."
"I think I mostly got over my parents' murder a long time ago, as much as you can."
"Did getting the guy behind it help?"
"Yeah, but not as much as I was hoping. Jake and Thomas ruined that." She smiled and Riley squeezed her hand.
"I'll take you however you are. And for the record, you don't seem screwed up to me."
"You haven't known me that long."
Riley smiled. "Whatever I find out, I promise to be cool about it."
"Same here." She laid a hand on his heart. "I just want you to know that if I need to, to save your life, I will take a bullet for you. It's important to me that you know that. Don't try to be a hero in Paris and save me or something. I'm going there to save you more than anything else."
Before he had a chance to respond, she planted a deep kiss on him and Riley knew long before it was over that he'd never let Jordan sacrifice herself for him. This mission had to go well and they didn't even have a plan.
Yet.
Chapter 13 The Mile High Club.
It didn't take long for Quinn to discover his brother was at Comus Winery and drop by. The gaze he fixed on Jordan was friendly enough, but she knew the big guy had reservations about her and decided to just ignore the issue for now. If she came back from Paris in one piece with Riley, she'd worry about his family then. Her heart and head were already getting messed up with affections, worries, and fears. Adding other people's issues wasn't going to keep her level-headed. The heat Riley had made gather in her loins just now wasn't helping either, but some things you resisted while others you let run wild. She really wanted him to throw her over the bar and f.u.c.k her now.
At least Quinn had things to tend to and left them together. Riley gave her a tour, since he knew the business almost as well as Quinn, though only day-to-day work could impart the finer points of winemaking. That left Quinn as the real expert and the other family members merely more knowledgeable than the average guy. The winery was the original family business and source of wealth, and pride in its operations ran deep.
Jordan had never visited the inside of a winery and was genuinely interested. It gave her a break from their worries and once done, she asked if there was an interesting and long motorcycle route they could take for the rest of the afternoon. He knew just the thing and drove her north to Harper's Ferry, West Virginia. Only an hour away, the small town had old world charm and a number of boutique stores for a casual stroll, hand-in-hand, down crowded streets beside the Potomac River. It reminded her of places in Europe, but she'd never been able to relax while on the run. Or while working for Thomas.
But on checking her smartphone for information about flights to Barcelona during a snack break, she swore.
"What?" Riley took her hand across the metal table they sat at, beside a cafe.
She squeezed his hand. "All the flights are at night. So we need to leave tonight if we want to be there tomorrow. We need to race to the airport." Jordan flushed, feeling stupid. They didn't have a deadline, but she hadn't been kidding on saying that every day spent cuddling with Riley would make her less willing to finish this business with Thomas.
"What's the latest one?"
"8:20 PM. Only three hours before check-in."
Riley got up, taking his coffee with him. "C'mon. We can grab stuff at my house and go."
She strode beside him toward the Gold Wing a block away. "I have tons of cash where we're going, and enough credit to do everything else. We can just buy replacements."
He nodded. "Where's the flight leaving from? Dulles?"
"Yeah."
"Book the flight. It's only an hour away from here, so we have time to hit my house. Our pa.s.sports are back there." He stopped at the bike and suddenly crushed his lips to hers for a steamy kiss that made her tremble. "Too bad we don't have a little more time."
She felt the soft bulge in his crotch. "Ride fast and maybe you can ride me fast."
The twinkle in his eye gave her a thrill. She almost forgot to book the flight, but the transaction went through. They donned their helmets before mounting and taking off with a roar. Jordan clung to him all the way back to Comus, both arms wrapped around his torso. Part of her wanted to feel him up but she didn't want to distract him. The heat of her crotch grew with every mile and she decided to focus on that instead of the dread that had crept upon her the moment she purchased the tickets.
She was going back. And this time either she was dying or Thomas was. Once before, she'd felt the strain of a return to Paris, when she'd gone back to work with him and Jake, but this was a simpler situation at least. She wasn't bringing a conflict about needing to trust people she didn't trust. She felt clarity, for she trusted no one but the man she had her arms wrapped around.
And it was a deep trust, one that she hadn't felt since her parents died. Her other relatives had been good to her, if a little disapproving of her gunplay and martial arts interests, but they'd never really understood her. Not like Riley did. It amazed her that time wasn't what led to that connection, but something immediate. Something that grew every moment they were together. She smiled then, thinking it might be wonderful to go after the man who'd tried to kill them both. Go together.
Jordan squeezed him close, growing affectionate and hornier as they pulled into the driveway, but then she sighed on seeing Chloe and Quinn on the front porch of the latter's house, for both got up and came over. Jordan couldn't very well get Riley's rocks off with company present. The siblings stayed until Jordan and Riley got back on the Gold Wing and left for the airport in northern Virginia. Jordan's stifled desire caused her whole body to ache with need. Now she'd have to wait until Barcelona!
She sighed as they rode down I-270 in the HOV lane, which helped speed them through the dwindling rush-hour traffic. But once they merged with the DC Beltway heading toward VA, the HOV lane vanished, and with an accident ahead, time crawled. The motorcycle had still been a good idea, for its maneuverability easily got them across four lanes of traffic to take the exit for Dulles. The Gold Wing's storage compartment was big enough for the one carryon bag they'd brought. She'd have to return if she wanted the rest of her things, but she intended to return if Riley would have her.
After parking the bike at the airport and getting through security quickly thanks to the absence of luggage to check in, they strode among the crowds toward the boarding area, pa.s.sing food vendors that made Jordan's stomach rumble.
"No time for a snack, I guess," she commented, eyeing the unhealthy choices.
Riley put a welcome arm around her. "We'll get dinner in Boston."
Another appet.i.te still hadn't been satisfied. "The real question is where we can get laid?"
He laughed and her mood brightened. "I like your priorities."
They reached the terminal in time to board the plane, finding it half empty. Aside from two days' worth of clothes and chargers for smartphones and the like, they hadn't brought much. Their flight would arrive in Boston before connecting to Dublin, Ireland. The last leg would get them to Barcelona, where they'd go shopping for the basics, like toiletries. The flights would take sixteen hours, so they'd stay a night in Barcelona before the day long drive to Paris.
They pa.s.sed the time talking of little things, like happier times when they were kids, silly adventures they'd had, trouble they'd gotten into and out of, but nothing serious. By silent, mutual agreement, they kept things light and easy, in no small part because those around them didn't need to know their real mission. The new couple was more interested in life and its more pleasant times. Their fingers were intertwined much of the time, unless one of them disengaged to discreetly feel the other's thigh. Jordan had to pull his hand away more than once because she was getting too h.o.r.n.y.
At the layover in Boston, Jordan planted a deep kiss on Riley, not caring that some in the Irish Pub where they sat gave them dirty looks for the public display of affection. She wanted him for dinner, not the beef burger before her. He could fill her far better. How she was going to last until Spain she didn't know. Only fear of being arrested kept her hands from his crotch. She sighed.
"Maybe I should occupy myself with hotel reservations for Barcelona," Jordan began, "before I screw your brains out right here."
The Marine smirked. "Would it be cruel of me to get you super h.o.r.n.y and make you wait so long?"
"I could learn to hate you if you're not careful." She pulled away from him to pull up hotels in Spain. "Where should we stay?"
"Somewhere romantic? We won't have time to enjoy more than each other, but it's the thought that counts."
She leaned against him. "Sadly, I'm not familiar with romantic places anywhere, so let's see what we can find. I'm in the mood to splurge, at least for a night."
"We've both come into some money."
Jordan pointedly ignored the reason that was true. Together they searched for a hotel and found one overlooking the Mediterranean, where spa services and fine dining awaited them. They agreed on one final night of enjoying their lives there just in case those lives came to an end. Neither wanted to think about it much until driving to Paris, so for now they pretended like they were on vacation together.
Before long, they boarded the full plane from Boston to Dublin, a long flight that began after midnight. Most of the other pa.s.sengers were already looking gla.s.sy-eyed, but neither Jordan nor Riley felt tired. After the "fasten seatbelts" light went off, the pair occupied themselves by discreetly making out until Jordan excused herself to the bathroom, and that's where she had a naughty idea. On her way back to Riley, she noted that most of the pa.s.sengers were asleep. The flight attendants weren't paying much attention to anyone. She slipped into her seat next to Riley and whispered in his ear.
"I'm super h.o.r.n.y. Have been for hours. What do you say we join the mile high club?"
He c.o.c.ked an eyebrow. "You're not a member yet?"
The question surprised her. "No. Are you?"
Riley smirked. "I'm about to be."
"I'll go first," she said, squeezing his c.o.c.k through his pants so that he moaned. "Give me a minute and then follow."
"I can hardly wait."
Jordan went back toward the plane's rear, where noise from the engines might mask any sounds they'd make. One guy met her gaze as she went, but she'd long ago learned to mask her expressions, and made a show of seeming bored. She reached the rear bathrooms, which were across the plane from each other, and checked one was empty before entering.
The place hardly had room for one body, let alone two. This could get interesting fast. Deciding to strip while she had room to do so, Jordan pulled down her pants, enjoying the cool air on her already wet p.u.s.s.y. It just made her womb feel that much hotter and it began to tremble in antic.i.p.ation. She left the pants and panties around her ankles and unhooked her bra, then slipped that and the s.h.i.+rt off. She was about to slide a finger inside when someone knocked on the door.
"That you, honey?" she quietly asked.
"Yeah."
Recognizing his voice, Jordan unbolted the door and opened it to see Riley's eyes bulge in delight as his hot gaze raked over her. He cast a glance back toward the sleeping pa.s.sengers and grinned like a schoolboy on entering the cramped lavatory. Closing the door and bolting it, Riley then squeezed both her t.i.ts in strong hands and she gasped until his mouth closed over hers, tongue darting inside. She responded for a moment before pulling back.
"Kiss me later," she panted. "Just f.u.c.k me."
"You're so f.u.c.king hot," he complimented her.
She furiously undid his belt buckle while he pulled down the zipper. A snap of the b.u.t.ton and together they shoved his pants and underwear pa.s.sed his crotch, Riley's half-hard c.o.c.k springing free and bobbing. Jordan's greedy hand encircled the shaft, giving him two gentle tugs that caused a rush of blood to engorge his manhood in her grip. While Riley worked his pants farther down, she cupped his smooth b.a.l.l.s and rolled her fingers back and forth. Her other hand caressed his c.o.c.k up to the head, where she teased the sensitive underside as his d.i.c.k stood straighter in the air every second.
"I'm gonna ride you," she announced, pus.h.i.+ng him toward the toilet. Riley let her shove him onto the seat, where he spread his legs. Jordan climbed over them to face him, her proud t.i.ts slapping his cheeks as she roughly got into position, hands on his brawny shoulders. Riley squeezed her a.s.s and held his c.o.c.k still for her as Jordan lowered herself without preamble, the slick folds of her p.u.s.s.y brus.h.i.+ng against him before she devoured the head.
Riley let go of his manhood and brushed his fingers against her p.u.s.s.y even as she engulfed the rest of his c.o.c.k, her p.u.s.s.y expanding with ease at the familiar feel of her man. For a moment, wild elation had Jordan's heart pounding. She'd waited hours for this and just savored the fulfillment, her body lighting up with arousal. Her taut flesh rippled with desire and she ground downward, mas.h.i.+ng her c.l.i.t into his pubic bone.
Riley's hot mouth surrounded one breast while one hand tugged at a stiffening nipple. She whimpered, wondering if the roar of the airplane engine would drown out the roar of her o.r.g.a.s.m when it came. The thrill of getting caught ramped up the throbbing in her loins. This was a different kind of danger than what she normally faced and she decided that she rather liked it.
A knock on the door caused jolts of fear, adrenaline, and then arousal. She stiffened and Riley shuddered at the effect of her p.u.s.s.y tightening. Biting her lip, Jordan slid up and down, throwing caution to the wind. That someone stood just inches away and didn't know what they were doing gave her a thrill that surprised her. As long as it wasn't an air marshal ready to arrest them. But f.u.c.k it, you only live once. She heard the other bathroom door open and shut and figured they were safe, so she gave Riley a honeyed kiss.
Not for the first time, she intended to drive Riley wild, but he did it to her instead, making her long for a time to get sweet revenge. He had it coming. His finger, already slick with Jordan's essence, pressed beneath their pubic mounds to find her sensitive c.l.i.t. She lifted up to provide access, the feel of his d.i.c.k sliding inside her making her rise up. Then she thrust down again. Suddenly she couldn't stop herself. Grabbing his shoulders, Jordan began f.u.c.king Riley, pumping her p.u.s.s.y up and down. Not content to just sit and relax, he rapidly raked his finger back and forth across her c.l.i.t.
"Oh G.o.d," Jordan hissed.
"You like that?" he huskily asked.
"f.u.c.k yes. I love everything you do to me. Oh s.h.i.+t, I'm c.u.ming!"
A surge tore through Jordan's v.a.g.i.n.a as arousal turned to pulsing tremors and she erupted, silently screaming his name into his ear.
"It's okay, baby," he approved. "I've got you."
Jordan moaned and collapsed onto him, saving her energy for stifling her cries. She flung her head back as Riley put both hands behind her to keep her upright and she luxuriated in the o.r.g.a.s.m. He rocked his hips and she joined him, not sliding far but enough to give him what he needed.
"Your p.u.s.s.y is like fire, Jordan."
"So is your c.o.c.k."
"Here come the flames."
"Scorch me, Riley!"
His soft cries filled the airplane bathroom as his c.o.c.k swelled and a ma.s.sive load of c.u.m burst into her p.u.s.s.y, the hot liquid dripping down the length of his d.i.c.k, out of her, and down around his heaving b.a.l.l.s to fall into the toilet. Seeing him reeling from pleasure, she leaned forward and buried his face in her lush t.i.ts. He squeezed her close, taking a deep breath of her scent, murmuring words she couldn't hear. But she didn't need to. They understood each other perfectly well with their clothes off. Clinging to each other, they savored the moment but tried not to get carried away "I guess we shouldn't push our luck," she finally said.
Riley pulled back, eyes dazed. "True. Let's clean up. We can cuddle after."
She kissed his forehead. "I love that Mr. Masculine still wants to cuddle."
"Anything that gets me in contact with you, baby," he said, as if joking. He swatted her rump and she slid up and off of his manhood with regret. Her p.u.s.s.y still quivered delightfully. His c.o.c.k still throbbed as they cleaned up and flushed everything down the toilet. They had most of their clothes back on when another knock at the door sounded, followed by a man's voice announcing it was the air marshal.
Chapter 14 Barcelona.
