Qin Zhi Ai thanked him and accepted the clothes. She was about to close the door but stopped and asked Xiao w.a.n.g, “Where is he?”

“You mean, Mr Gu?” Xiao w.a.n.g turned his head around, and pointed at the room directly opposite the room Qin Zhi Ai was currently in. “He should be in that room……” He answered and paused. Xiao w.a.n.g seemed to know why Qin Zhi Ai had asked that question and added, “If Miss Liang will be leaving afterwards, please remember inform Mr Gu.”

“Hm.” Qin Zhi Ai lightly nodded. She held the bags and stared at the opposite door, thanked Xiao w.a.n.g and then closed the door.

After she changed into the clean clothes and blow-dried her hair, Qin Zhi Ai sat on the sofa, staring at the rain outside the window which was gradually weakening. She then closed her eyes and inhaled a deep breath, and as if she had solidified her resolve, she stood up, picked up her bag and walked towards the door.

Qin Zhi Ai opened the door. Her fingers that were holding the bag tightened. She internally gave herself a long line of encouragement before taking a step and slowly walking towards the opposite door.

Qin Zhi Ai took several more deep breaths in front of the door before she mustered enough courage, and pressed the doorbell.

Because the room was soundproofed very well, she rang the doorbell a good number of times before she faintly heard someone say, “Coming.” Dozens of seconds later, the room door was suddenly pulled open.

Before Qin Zhi Ai had the chance to clearly see who had opened the door, the person had already said, “Pa.s.s me the beer and then help me deliver another few bottles of Western liquor…… Oh, that’s right, also bring another fruit…..”

There were quite a number people inside. Men and Women. Some drinking, some singing.

Qin Zhi Ai found Gu Yu Sheng in one glance. He was sitting on a single sofa with a cigarette in his mouth.

The him right now didn’t have even the slightest trace of that frightening anger he usually had in her presence. Two of his front b.u.t.tons were unb.u.t.toned, revealing a sensual collarbone. His head was tilted. She didn’t know what he heard the person near him say but, he seemed to be in very good mood. There was a smile on his face, and he replied with a single, “Nonsense,” and then tilted up his face, playfully blowing out two smoke rings slowly.

This Gu Yu Sheng, who carried a hint of righteous bad boy confidence[1] within his broadmindedness and openness[2], was almost identical to that boy of the past.

Qin Zhi Ai was immediately enthralled by the sight.

She thought to herself, ‘He is the only person in this entire world who can exemplify both n.o.bility and unruliness with such perfection.’

[1] 痞气(pǐqì) Directly summarised from the Baidu Dictionary: Describes a person who is inherently upright, good and honest, has deep affection/comrades.h.i.+p, and is confident, capable and br.i.m.m.i.n.g with self-possession. However, their words and actions would occasionally display a sort of, as if there is no one beside them (loner), 'cool' characteristic, giving others a sort of "bad" vibe, but not the sort of "bad" as in doing bad things, or bad person etc. 痞气(pǐqì) is a type of feeling, a type of essence; it is a way to express a man's confidence.

[2] 风光霁月 (fēng’ guāng’ jì’ yuè) I couldn't really understand this part so here's another definition from Baidu:  风光霁月 denotes the bright fresh and clean scene/sight when the sky clears after the rain, or new hopes after a disastrous period or after rain comes calm. Could also be a metaphor to mean broadminded, honest and candid.
