While Qin Zhi Ai’s mind was wandering, Lu Ban Cheng raised his voice once more and shouted into the room again, “Sheng-ge!”

Lu Ban Cheng’s voice was too loud this time. The people in the room immediately fell quietened, and turned their heads towards the door.

Half a beat later than the others, Gu Yu Sheng finally lightly tilted his head. When he saw Qin Zhi Ai at the door, a clearly startled look of crossed his face, as if he was curious as to how she ended up here.

It wasn’t until after someone finally got hold of themselves, and greeted Qin Zhi Ai, “Oh, so you’re here too, Mrs Gu? Why didn’t you come in?” that Gu Yu Sheng made an “Oh” sound of surprise, stood up from the sofa and headed towards the door.

Most likely because he had just been chatting happily with his group of friends, when he stopped in front of Qin Zhi Ai, there was still a a smile that was like a smile but not a smile on his face, making him appear languid and playful.

Lu Ban Cheng waited for Gu Yu Sheng to exit the room and then immediately sensibly the door.

Cut off from the clamour of the room, the pa.s.sageway suddenly seemed a bit too quiet.

Gu Yu Sheng swept his eyes across Qin Zhi Ai and seeing that she wasn’t saying anything, he didn’t make any sound either. He merely raised his hand, took hold of the cigarette at his lips, put it out with his fingertips, and then headed towards the bedroom on the opposite side.

When he was in front of the room door, he turned and looked at Qin Zhi Ai, and lifted his chin to motion to her to open the door.

Qin Zhi Ai hastily moved forward two steps and swiped the door open with the card key. She didn’t enter the room but instead held the card key out to Gu Yu Sheng who had taken a step into the room.

Gu Yu Sheng wrinkled his eyebrows and gazed at the card key for a short moment. He didn’t take it. His gaze trailed from her hand up to her face. Although he didn’t say a word, there was a silent question in his eyes.

Qin Zhi Ai knew that he was wondering why she was giving the card to him. She lightly pursed her lower lip, and explained quietly, “That is, it’s getting late. I'll be going home first.”

Gu Yu Sheng’s brows furrowed even deeper. The languid air he had carried since he left the opposite room instantly dissipated and a dense oppressive and ruthless air radiated out from his body.

Qin Zhi Ai was a bit afraid of this Gu Yu Sheng. She instinctively lightly backed one step and the cogs in her brain subconsciously started turning at flying speed. She then randomly found an excuse. “Zhou Jing just gave me a call. She invited me out to discuss a screenplay…..”
