Chapter 2128 Ress’s National Day -Part 1
Even as everyone was also so busy throughout the months, there was one thing that they did not forget as the year in Atopia was about to end.
The New Year Celebration and Ress' National Day.
While both holidays did not coincide together, Ress National Day was one day before the start of the New Year and it was supposedly to be celebrated in conjunction with it. Jin did actually stayed in Ress for more than a year but this was the first year that Ress had finally decided to put out a huge celebration in conjunction of the looming doom that they were suppose to handle.
The main reason why Jin did not experience Ress National Day previously was mainly due to the Red b.l.o.o.d.y Wedding that he caused during the formation of a new government. This had caused everyone to be rather wary about their new leader and king, making it hard for them to celebrate Ress National Day.
Not to mention, the minister Cabinet had also felt that it was not an appropriate time to do so as they needed the permission of their King to run the event. Yet, the King was missing at that point of time, supposedly working to train the cadets of the Commando Mages that are now considered the medieval age equivalent of famous knights.
Jin also felt that it was right for Ress to celebrate its possible last National Day and New Year in light of the events that were unwrapping away from their sight. It was true that they had improved a lot and Jin put in a lot of effort in ensuring that they have the capability to defend themselves but it was felt like it was not enough in the King's books.
So regardless of the potential abysmal outcome that the Celestials could prepare, Jin had agreed to open the kingdom's coffers to let every single citizen of Ress be proud of what they done in the past year. That included all the new citizens regardless of their plight they came from.
Jin saw how Mong Empire had decimated the entirety of Nalg and Ends. It did not stop there as the Star Foxes' zombie horde continued to gather traction, all ready to hit Brooj, the Kingdom residing at the southwest portion of Ress.
People might still be suffering but it was better for them to die under the powers of the Zombie Horde since the System was reviving them and reallocating all of these people into two areas.
Depending on their skills and abilities, the talented people had been contracted to live once more in Ress. And yes, they just have that additional live to spare. This was mainly due to the fact that the System was still being restricted in processing power. It was not able to keep the whole of Ress working and perform such impressive feats as resurrecting the same people repeatedly.
Thus, those people with fighting and other useful talents signed a limited contract with the kingdom (aka the System) to be loyal to the country.
As long as they were able to survive, they can live the rest of their resurrected lives in service of the kingdom. Otherwise, they would be killed and whether the System resurrect them again would be of another issue by itself.
On the other hand, the other group had been resurrected but was placed in a remote underground automation factory in Mong's Empire. Jin had no idea that the System and Kraft had made a pact to make sure that this supposed underground automation factory would be working 24/7 until the arrival of the Celestials.
It was supposed to be the backup plan or even considered as a reinforcements depending on the situation. The System had made Jin create a portable installation module with his improvised smithing. It lied stating that it wanted to keep this said module as research, when in reality, it was used to be deployed in Mong Empire.
These other group of people that was given one more chance in life had been fully utilised to produce as many items and equipment for the eventual coming fight. Kraft's personal system was able to keep every human's emotions in check and relied on such crude labour to ensure that the underground automation factory was running faster each day.

After all, the workers only job was to a.s.semble the items and ensure that the items and equipment work before keeping for storage.
Unfortunately even as these people were working for Ress, they were not able to partic.i.p.ate this particular event that Jin had created because of its remote location. (Kraft did leave a big screen open for everyone to watch just this once.)
And speaking of the event once more, the preparation was ma.s.sive.
Troops were trained for the parade march while adventurers who knew how to dance were being drafted temporarily just for the event itself. One of the automation factories even changed its priority for churning out equipment for the military had been reduced into a all rounder factory which would produce any thing and almost everything on demand.
From party poppers to even celebratory formal uniforms for the troops, the loss to create more military equipment for the celebrations was considered a sacrifice on Jin's side.
But just as Jin thought that this would have nothing to do with him and all he needed was to show his face during the celebration and parade, he found out from Topharm that Jin was dead wrong. He not only need to wear the most pompous of attires, he was going to be the main attention attraction for the first march being escorted by his most trusted commando mages.
Only when that was done, he was able to sit at one corner to watch the rest of it.
And that Celebratory March that Jin had to do was riddled with weird formalities that he needed to follow now that he was both King and the main leader of the nation, as compared to previous minister cabinets where the king and Lead Minister had separate roles.
As much as he wanted to practice or work more on the defences of the Ress, this continuous rehearsals were driving him crazy.
