Tinaria woke up early in the morning. Unlike when she was in Lidea, she didn't have to work to draw water or to prepare the kitchen in the morning, but her body, used to get up early, naturally woke up with the morning sun. While Maria didn't wake up yet, she arranged the bedroom and easily finished cleaning, then headed to the library which was located across one corridor.
She had learnt reading, writing and calculation in order to do book keeping, but up to now, she didn't have the time nor the money to read books. Therefore, since she didn't have to press for successive work, the current circ.u.mstance where she could read books as she pleased, even if Maria was disappointed about it, was considered as a luxury for Tinaria. Each book in her hands were interesting, everything from tales to politics, economics, the art of calligraphy, she read books from various fields. After borrowing 2 or 3 books, she returned to take a frugal breakfast with Maria, and after that she spent her time taking a break, reading or repairing things until noon. Because it was a good opportunity, Maria studied with Tinaria, and remarkably improved her sewing. It seemed she performed embroidery on Tinaria's dresses to make them a little bit more gorgeous.
At noon, it was time for the ladies to start taking their time dressing themselves. Tinaria was frequently called out as a maid at the occasion of the incessant tea parties, she spent her time serving without eating or drinking. Accustomed of people making fun or scorning her, Tinaria only stood quietly. Amongst the other maids, no one tried to stick with Tinaria as she was from Lidea.
When she wandered around the tables at tea parties, she heard various gossips.
"It seems the town along the border suffered considerable damage due to heavy rains the other day."
"Yes, but it seems his Highness came up with a measure for the rising waters of rivers before winter, the damages were considerably reduced."
In this way, every time Tinaria heard the stories about Keithfalt putting various efforts for the country, she felt proud, although she was worried for his health since he was working too hard.
When the tea party was over, Tinaria headed towards the arbor as usual with a book in her hand. Will Keith be coming today? Thinking so while walking, she seemed very happy.
For Tinaria, this quiet moment was more important than anything. The silence was not a bother at all, it made her heart feel warm.
If I could stay by his side a little bit longer like this…
That was the only wish of Tinaria.
