Gu Lingsha had her doubts as well, so she went to Qi Lei’s office after the meeting adjourned. Qi Lei had wrapped up his discussion with the partners and was on his way to send them out. His eyes darkened when he noticed Gu Lingsha standing by his door.

“Can I go in and have a word with you?” Gu Lingsha looked at Qi Lei and asked.

Qi Lei squinted his eyes at her and asked coldly, “In what context?”

A light flashed in Gu Lingsha’s beautiful eyes as she answered, “As a colleague.”

Qi Lei put on a cold smile and walked back into his office. Gu Lingsha looked at him with a complicated gaze. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, then she followed behind him and closed the door.

Qi Lei did not take another look at her. He tossed the doc.u.ment he was holding onto his table as he sat down on the chair. He pinched the s.p.a.ce between his eyebrows and said, “State your business. I’m in a hurry.”

His cold tone held no room for a friendly chat as it was extremely business-like.

“Lei, Uncle Qi and you…”

“Manager Gu, is it your job to find out about other people’s private life during work hours?” Qi Lei interrupted her before she could finish her sentence.

Qi Lei had clear boundaries. He had to admit that Gu Lingsha had given him a lot of pleasant memories during his childhood, but his patience had been running low with her as of late, especially after she made her choice. Utterly disappointed in her, he thought that they would walk on different paths.

Gu Lingsha bit her lip as she put on a cold smile. She backed off and handed the doc.u.ment in her hands to Qi Lei. “Glory World sent over some doc.u.ments when you weren’t around the past few days. If there’s no problem, then you can sign them.”

Qi Lei did not take them from her or turn around either.

“I didn’t know you hated me this much, Qi Lei. Just a.s.sume that it’s my fault if you think I’ve done something wrong, but stop going against your family anymore! I’d be really grateful if you did that.” She then left the doc.u.ments on his table before giving him a long, hard look and leaving his office quietly.

She b.u.mped into Yang Sheng the moment she left Qi Lei’s office. Yang Sheng was concerned as he noticed Gu Lingsha’s eyes were red and she had a gloomy expression.

“Manager Gu, what’s wrong?”

Gu Lingsha glanced at him and shook her head. She walked away without saying a thing, making Yang Sheng confused. When he walked into the office, Qi Lei was watering the plants.

“Master Qi, just now Manager Gu…she seems to be crying? What happened?” Yang Sheng asked.

Qi Lei paused for a little. He then resumed watering the plants and ignored Yang Sheng’s question.
