"I understand both of your concern for us sister. But we've responsibilities to take care of. Plus, what I've not told you is, I've two shops of mine here. It was very difficult to take care at both places. I originally thought of leaving her at one of the shops and me taking care of the other. Now I'll fully concentrate on that shop and work harder." Da Nuru firmly said.
Jayne huffed. "Okay, but I'll be coming to take you very soon. You can't say no at that time." She was pouting.
Da Nuru affectionately said, "Okay sister. I guess it's time for you two to leave. Don't be late. Get going now."
Ronnie glanced at his watch. It was half past eleven. It would be perfect if they left now. They could go back and meet the General get their doc.u.ments and have lunch before the reporting time.
Reluctantly Jayne got up from the chair unwilling to unhook her feet around the chair legs which actually meant she didn't want to leave Da Nuru.
"Bye, brother Nuru. Take care. Oh and before I forget, this is his personal number you can call him anytime for anything." Jayne left a small piece of paper with Ronnie's contact information.
Da Nuru took the paper and carefully kept it in his s.h.i.+rt pocket. He and his wife then waved them a goodbye.
Jayne and Ronnie walked out of the hospital after they bid farewell to Da Nuru. Jayne was feeling especially low. She tugged onto Ronnie's sleeve. Ronnie asked her, "What's it? Do you want to stay back?"
Jayne pouted and nudged her nose against his sleeve and said, "No its fine, let's leave."
Ronnie then walked towards the jeep holding her hands. He then instructed the subordinate to take them back to the General.
The General was standing right outside the Army office waiting for their return. He was worriedly pacing back and forth in the garden area.
The subordinate walked up to him along with Ronnie and Jayne and saluted him, "Sir!"
The General excitedly came forward, "Are you all fine? I just received the news that the shopping area your were in was attacked by insurgents?" He frowned.
"Sir, we were in close proximity to the danger but nothing happened to us. Though, Mr. Ronnie's guests were hurt and are being treated at the Army hospital." The subordinate answered.
The General relaxed on seeing that Ronnie and Jayne were safe and he immediately snapped back to his duty of sending them now, " Sir, it's getting late. You should have lunch first."
Ronnie replied, " General we thank you for everything. Let me use your phone to call my a.s.sistant?"
"Sure sir" said the General and they walked towards his office. Even Jayne followed them to the office. But she didn't get in. She preferred to wait outside the office.
Ronnie nodded and walked inside saying, "Will be right back Jayne."
