"The food is really good, you picked a nice restaurant. Is it one of your favorites?"
Modesty said in English as she was putting more food in her mouth. Su Jin Wei frowned a little, why was she speaking English when he knew that she could speak fluent Mandarin? He was the one who helped her practice it when she was here last, even though she didn't need the practice. He used it as an excuse to get closer to her.
"Jin Jin why do I have to practice my Mandarin? I would rather be out having fun. There is a boy in my cla.s.s that said that there is a festival going on today and I want to go."
Su Jin Wei looked at the girl anger in his eyes.
"What boy?"
Su Jin Wei came back to the present. He didn't want her to speak to him in English he didn't know why but he decided to respond in Mandarin to see if she would switch.
"Yes in a way it is my favorite restaurant. I brought you here at the beginning of your last year, I didn't want you to go back to western food. After we ate our fill the first time, you said then that this was your favorite place. So I made sure that we came here as much as we could."
"So, we came here often?"
Su Jin Wei nodded his head.
"It sounds like we were really close."
Su Jin Wei had a faraway look, "We were."
Su Jin Wei was a little pleased with himself she did switch to Mandarin.
"Will you tell me more about us? I really want to start discussing some things now. I don't remember those two years, but I want those memories back."
Su Jin nodded his head, "En, but now's not the time."
Modesty was frustrated she wanted to have the answers, but she somehow knew that she couldn't push this man. They continued with small talk and a little getting to know you talk, and a.s.sistant Zhang almost spat up blood. This was the most that he had heard his boss speak since he'd been with him. Plus, if he didn't know any better he would swear that his boss was even smiling. What was it about this Miss Cameron that made this demon appear human.
a.s.sistant Zhang turned to a.s.sistant Chu. She was fairly pretty with lips shaped like a little bow, her hair cut to her shoulders, she was wearing a conservative black dress and flats.
"Hey, how does your boss know mine? He has never mentioned her before."
a.s.sistant Chu stared at the little man next to her for a moment he was kind of cute. He was her height, skinny. He wore gold wire-rimmed gla.s.ses and had short black hair.
"They met when they were young. My boss has come here many times before."
Chu Hua Huan scoffed as if the little man beside her didn't know anything about his boss. Zhang Yong w.a.n.g blushed, he had only been with Su Jin Wei for six years now. So, he didn't know what the boss was like before he came to be his a.s.sistant.
