The moment he thinks she's prettier than anything he's ever seen before, he loses.

It seems like he lost a long time ago then, why does Lila look so beautiful in anything she wears? This has to be cheating somehow.

"Kiryu, um, I think we have a problem."

"Hmm?"

"You spend more time looking at me than doing any actual work."

"Uhh," Kiryu trailed off. It seems like he made it too obvious.

Lila laughed, "Um," she extended her hand out and gave him some papers. "Please get some work done."

"Lila, you look a bit pale," he mumbled. "Do you have a fever?"

"A little one. But I'm fine; I took some medicine."

"Don't overdo it. Where's Haruka today? Will he stop by?"

"Ah, yes! He said we would have lunch together. Kiryu, do you want to join us?"

"Lunch?" Kiryu glanced up at the clock. That's in five minutes. He supposes that's perfect timing. "If he doesn't mind, it's not a lunch date, right?"

Lila laughed, "We don't need to have; lunch dates."

Yeah, they must go on plenty of dates.

A deep sigh crossed his lips. Why are they doing paperwork on a day like this? They are still students, 'President should cut them some slack.' Especially Lila, Lila has a lot going on right now. He wonders if there is anything he can do for her.

Five minutes pa.s.sed by rather quickly.

"Hey, I told you I don't need to eat lunch."

"Are you crazy? What the h.e.l.l is wrong with you. Why are you dieting again when you're so skinny?"

"I'm fine; I'm eating plenty."

"No, you collapsed early. Eat G.o.dd.a.m.n it."

Kiryu awkwardly stood in front of the door. This was the wrong time to stand up and grab some coffee. So that's s.h.i.+nozaki Rikka? He knows her by name only; he's never formally met her. However, she's a big shot in the entertainment industry. He took a deep breath and opened the door.

"Hey, you two can come in. There's n.o.body else around."

Haruka glanced over, "I see."

Uh, wait, what's with that pause? Maybe he shouldn't have put it that way. "Rikka, don't be stubborn okay? Let's eat together."

The girl sighed, "Your such a dictator. I can't believe you forced me into your car. Were you always this unreasonable? Fine, but I won't eat much."

'He's never seen Haruka act this way before.' Huh, so Haruka, isn't that cruel to other women after all? Where did all these strange rumors come from?

"Hubby!" Lila beamed happily as she ran into Haruka's arms.

"Hey," Haruka's lips curve to a smile. The earlier anger seemed to have vanished from his face. "Mmm, I missed you. What were you doing all morning?"

"Paperwork, Kiryu was slacking, so I did everything."

H—hey! He didn't do nothing.

"Then, I guess you deserve to be spoilt."

"En," Lila glanced over. "Rikksan, thank you for coming too."

"I wanted to thank you for the breakfast. It was delicious."

Err, what does he think about this? Why is Lila acting normal around this woman now?

"Hey, I told you to eat more.."

"I'm fine, and you know that."

"Eat already, d.a.m.n. Don't irritate me anymore today. I'm taking you back home later, so don't sneak off."

"I don't need a doctor."

What's with these two? Bickering back and forth like that. "Kiryu, that looks nice," Lila murmured.

Nice? Then again, Lila does have strange fetishes.

"Hubby, hubby," Lila tugged on Haruka's arm, "Scold me too."

"Hmmm? Did you do something bad?"

"Um, I didn't dry my hair this morning."

"Ah, now that's bad."

'Unbelievable…' Kiryu thought he knew everything about Lila. But, it seems like that isn't the case here. She's acting even more spoilt than before. Haruka seems to go along with everything.

"So, how's it going?" Haruka asked.

"Ah-huh, about that. Hubby, can you listen? I think something is wrong."

"Yeah, go ahead, sing."

Sing Lila did, her relaxing and soothing voice fills the s.p.a.ce.

"The emotional aspects are fine. Your singing on tune too."

"But something is wrong. It doesn't sound right for me…" Lila glanced over at him. "Kiryu, what do you think?"

What does he think? "Your beautiful," he mumbled a bit too loudly.

Lila laughed, "Um, thank you."

Kiryu just left for a few moments, he didn't think that when he returned he would stumble on such a scene. Lila leaned against the couch, and Haruka hovered over her. It didn't take him long to put two and two together.

He  quickly walked away. 'Those two…really need to stop that.' But, well, he can't criticize them too much. He was the same as Haruka back when he was together with Lila. It's tough to keep your hands off her. He spotted short brown hair not too far away and paused. Did she see that too?

"I heard you have an eating disorder," Kiryu commented as he approached her. A strange topic to start with, but why not?

Rikka sighed, "Those rumors are still around?"

"It's true?"

"Yes, it started when Haruka dumped me. I guess I took the breakup a bit too seriously. Before I knew it, I couldn't eat like normal."

Didn't she cheat on him? Kiryu wondered what kind of woman she was to cheat on Haruka. But she seems quite reasonable. She doesn't seem like the type Haruka would go for. "When did you two go out?" Kiryu asked.

"December 2033."

That was reasonably recent, so...Haruka went out with this woman after what happened with Lila?

"Back then, he was still trying to get over what happened with Teras.h.i.+ma Lila. I told him I'd make him forget her. It took four months before Haruka finally told me he had feelings for me."

So, that's how things are.

But, four whole months? Waiting almost half a year to hear those words. Indeed, what happened with Lila and Haruka then was tragic. Kiryu had a bad feeling about it from the very start. This girl, she seems to have genuine feelings for Karas.h.i.+ma. He doesn't understand why she cheated on him. However, maybe she understood something. Before she gets dumped and thrown away - she ought to do something. Take action, so she isn't the victim here, no action, so Haruka isn't the bad guy.

Kiryu paused when he realized that. It can't be, right? Would anybody go that far for the person they love?
