I also started to give instructions to Ella through our kin telepathy, seeing as they had shot before revealing themselves, they weren't friendly.
"[email protected]#*#*@#&"
One of them shouted in our direction as I confirmed their numbers. There were exactly 6 of them in our sights, with bows trained between me, Ella and Kuro. The two at the front were a woman and man. Both looked exceptional and beautiful in their green get up.
It was a mix between leather and metal that comprised their armor and was practical. It looked free flowing that it didn't restrict their movements, while also covering vital points. For some reason though the female armor was a split piece and the stomachs of 2 of them were showing.
That just seemed stupid to me, their abdominal regions would instantly become their weakness with such gear.
Though they did look better in the gear.
Still stupid.
As we didn't respond the first speaker seemed to get angry and was about to say more before his gaze fixed onto Ella. I started to have a bad feeling as I noticed his eyes flash.
He had just used a.n.a.lyze!
I had wanted to use it on them as well, but I was out of range. Why the h.e.l.l could he still use it? I prepared myself as I knew what was about to happen. I bet that these elves that had attacked us first, wouldn't be favorable towards infected.
And I was right.
His face turned into a frown and a disgusted look flashed through his eyes. The face he just made after looking at Ella really p.i.s.sed me off. After doing that he turned to the gorgeous female that was standing next to him and started to talk.
"@*#&"
She started for a second before also turning towards Ella, with her eyes flas.h.i.+ng. Before anything started I made sure that Ella knew who she would be targeting in the upcoming fight, while the female finally spoke.
"@*#[email protected]"
Her face also changed to one of derision and disgust as she looked at Ella. Such a beautiful face looked so ugly at that one second that her previous calm and serene face seemed to be a lie.
Really, all the Elves that I could see at the minute looked beautiful and would definitely be considered models, if it was before the apocalypse. They didn't seem like they could hurt a fly, was it not for their deadly bows. It was almost a shame that the illusion was instantly broken.
The female after looking at Ella spoke to the rest of them and nodded towards her male companion. The bows that were once trained on me and Kuro were instantly s.h.i.+fted over to Ella, as the rest of them unleashed a killing intent.
The expressions on their faces looked like they were seeing garbage. I really liked elves back before the apocalypse; I would read stories about them. How attuned to nature they were, and the gentleness that they showed towards other species.
Well that was if the novel didn't have them enslaved or on the brink of destruction. I quite liked the general demeanor that would be shown through the writing of such novels. But what was before me didn't differ that much from humans.
They were showing the same expressions that would cross human faces when they found out Ella, was an infected. My heart grew cold as a sense of disappointment welled up deep within me. I don't know where it came from, but it left me feeling a bit emptier inside.
I knew I would have to act fast. With their sights trained on Ella I would be able to act more freely. I sent the go ahead to Ella and told her to wait until I moved. Giving her a side look she sent me a small nod, which didn't escape the eyes of the male elf in front.
"@*#*[email protected]#"
He shouted something at me before moving his bow over, but I showed no fear. My danger perception had gone off at the surprise attack at the start. But it hadn't had a reaction at all since then.
The only time it had ever really gone out of its way to warn me, was when I had to go up against Zoey. From this I could tell, even if these guys would give me a fight, I would be able to take it.
The bow in the hand of the male elf twinged slightly back as he got ready to fire his bow, before he said one last thing to me.
"@&*#**"
I had no clue what he said. Probably giving me one last warning.
I didn't care as I floated him a smile.
He looked stun at the weird smile I just gave him and instead relaxed his muscles, he was about to fire.
And that was when I exploded into action.
'Now!'
I shouted it out in my mind as I moved towards the left in a dead sprint. Ella quickly got the message and ran to the right. I didn't really care what happens with Kuro, but I wouldn't have to worry as she wasn't being targeted anymore, either way.
We both released our aura's full pelt to lock down on them as fast as possible. They were slightly s.p.a.ced out with the 2 at the front being about 5 meters ahead of the rest. We were able to get the 2 leaders in our aura, but failed to get the ones behind them.
Once we started running they released their bows and moved backwards to create more room. They were archers after all, and I wouldn't expect them to fight close quarters anyway. The deciding factor would be our speed, and thankfully for us, they were slower.
I could instantly see the difference as the gap between us closed dramatically. They couldn't move back fast enough and the arrows that were coming our way were actually pretty easy to dodge. Being able to see where they were coming from I had no trouble side stepping out of the way, as I moved closer.
Not to mention me, it was even easier for Ella as she had a greater agility stat. We both made our way closer as our aura locked them down. Their speed reduced further as looks of shock appeared in their eyes.
I used a.n.a.lyze on the 2 in front to get the general abilities of the opponents, the ones behind them wouldn't be likely to have better stats than their leaders.
Name: Gale Tree Walker

My face hardened as I didn't see any more information. They weren't treated like infected or beasts, I couldn't see their attributes. It was exactly like I was looking at a human.
I pushed the thought to the back of my head as I moved closer; I had to get the relevant information.
They were both level 10, further confirming that I would be able to take them down. Another interesting fact was that they had the same last name, maybe brother and sister?
But the main piece of information was the fact they were both over 180 years old! I knew that elves would be able to live longer than humans, all relative pieces of media say that would be the case, but what perplexed me was the fact that they were only level 10.
With the amount of time they had been alive, and could be alive, I was expecting them to have a higher level. It was something to think about a different time, as I dodged another arrow.
As it pa.s.sed by I easily got within 10 meters of them and prepared to take them down. My speed was greater than theirs and because they were moving backwards I caught up quickly. I couldn't spend too long taking each of them down.
Determination flashed through my eyes as I swung my blade at the exposed mid-section of Cindy who was in front of me. Instead of trying to dodge backwards from the blow she instead swung her own bow to intercept the attack. I didn't give her a chance of it being stronger than my sword and pulled back my blade.
I had to split my attention so that I wasn't hit from afar, but looking in their direction I had a little time. Using the small gap of time after her failed parry, I dipped the blade and went for her legs. She mustn't have been expecting the attack as she was a beat slow moving them back.
The blade struck hard against the leather protectors over her s.h.i.+n and knocked her off her feet, forcing her to fall forwards. The pain was too much for her, as she screamed out in pain and dropped her bow, her face cras.h.i.+ng heavily against the ground.
I didn't have much time to deal with her, so I instead quickly stabbed the blade into her arm that was sprawled on the ground. I didn't look to see the full result, but I think I cut into her forearm leaving a huge split in the bone.
She wouldn't be able to attack me from behind with an arm out of commission and her leg that badly damaged.
"@*#*@@"
Her brother, I'm a.s.suming, rushed towards me as he saw what happened and completely ignored Ella who skirted around him and went for the others behind. They were still firing arrows as fast as they could and even stopped moving backwards. They knew we would out run them; they wanted to fire off more shots.
It made it harder, as I greeted the brother head on. He had a bigger build and looked to have more physical force than what his sister would have. Even though he had these features he was fighting me with a bow.
Because of this fact, I was easily able to deal with him, as my sword had greater length. When he went in for a swing I would counter with a stab to hurt him. Because I couldn't spend too much time I went for the shoulders and arms.
This just made him angrier and he made more mistakes. After throwing too much weight into a swing, he swung himself off balance and I used that time to send a heavy cut into his side. Blood splattered out of his mouth as he staggered down.
Swinging my sword down fast, I then took his right hand clean off and he shouted out in pain. While he was clutching the arm that once had a hand, I rotated around him and aimed for his Achilles. After slicing through it I didn't bother with him and moved towards the ones at the back.
I hadn't spent a lot of time dealing with the siblings, but by the time I got to the ones at the back, Ella had already dealt with 3 of them. There was no suspense as we kill the last person. Yes we killed him. There was no point keeping them alive, and there would be no negotiation. They were the ones who attacked first, and I wouldn't show them mercy.
I would have killed the siblings if I didn't have to worry about the ones at the back.
After killing the last person at that back, we turned around to see the 2 siblings on the ground suffering, their moans of agony louder than the other.
Kuro was still standing in the same place, and had a stunned expression plastered on her face. Her gaze alternated between me and Ella, the siblings and the 4 elves we had just killed. Her mouth flapped open a few times as if to try and say something, but nothing came out.
I didn't mind her as I made my way over to the siblings, Ella trailing behind. I don't know when, but she had picked up one of the arms of the elves and was nibbling on it. From her facial expression the novelty of having something new to eat was too much for her.
The saliva that dripped down from her mouth also attested to how tasty the elves were.
Finally reaching the brother I raised my sword and prepared to kill him, I would end it fast. No need to prolong the suffering.
"Wait!"
Just as I was about to swing down the sword Kuro screamed out for me to stop.
Why?
