Inside the princ.i.p.al's office, Ryōko stood together with Tearju as they both looked at the Princ.i.p.al of Sainan Middle School.

With her brown hair pulled up by an unseen clutcher and dressed in a black skirt suit alongside a white s.h.i.+rt that showcased her large bust that didn't falter even in front of Tearju's and Ryōko's.

Her dark brown eyes looked at the doc.u.ments in front of her and then looked back at Tearju, who was dressed in a black top and a pair of blue jeans alongside a white lab coat over her body, just like Ryōko's.

Her golden blonde hair was tied into a high ponytail while her bangs were brushed behind her ears. She adjusted her gla.s.ses nervously when she felt the Princ.i.p.al's gaze on her.

"Tearju... Lunatique-san, right?"

"Yes, Princ.i.p.al Kojima, nice to meet you!"

"Please, I am the one who is flattered. After all, you are the one who is willing to leave the big inst.i.tutions like NextGen and trying to find a job here."

"Please, it's not like that."

Tearju sighed and shook her head.

Kojima Kana, the Princ.i.p.al of the school fell thoughtful and looked at Ryōko after a moment.

"Since Ryōko-san has recommended you, I am willing to give you a temporary job until I thoroughly appraise your experience, communication skills and methodology of teaching. But before all that, I still need to take your interview. Will you excuse, us, Ryōko-san?"

Ryōko nodded naturally. She smiled and nodded at Tearju before turning back and putting her hands in the pockets of her lab coat.

"Oh, one more thing, Ryōko-san."

While Tearju took her seat, Kojima once again looked at Ryōko.

"Yes? Can I do something else?"

Ryōko turned back as her b.r.e.a.s.t.s almost popped out of her open pink blouse accompanied by frilly edges.

"Yes, I have personally warned you two times about your dress code and this is the third time. From tomorrow, if you wear such clothes to my school, I will deduct your month's pay."

She spoke calmly and crossed her legs while she concentrated on Tearju's credentials.

"But Princ.i.p.al-sama! I already have nine sets of these blouses! What am I going to do with them?"

She immediately mocked her sadness and looked at Kojima pitifully.

"Hmm? Donate them? Throw them? But such clothes are better off being burnt to ashes."

She spoke plainly.

"But—"

"A month's pay and next time, a three-week suspension."

Ryōko really didn't care for the pay received from the school but she loved the environment here. The moment she heard about the suspension, she finally caved in.

"Yes, Princ.i.p.al Kojima!"

Her shoulders slouched and she walked out with a distressed face while Tearju smiled amusingly.

"Now then, may I call you Tearju-san?"

Kana looked at Tearju and smiled. She figured that calling her 'Lunatique-san' again and again will only get tedious.

Teaeju shook her head and smiled.

"Please go ahead, I don't mind."

Kana's previous att.i.tude regarding Ryōko's outfit receded and she looked at Tearju with a small smile.

"Is it true that you really headed a research team for Next Gen Inc. regarding quirks?"

"Yes, even though it was for a little time."

"Hmm, next. Why would you leave the research team? That job is lucrative, inclined towards your dreams and goals and you have also gained the knowledge regarding the profession. Not only that, you were able to become the head researcher, this means that you are a talent in that particular field or you are pa.s.sionate about the subject or it may be both."

Kana placed the doc.u.ments on the table and looked at Tearju seriously.

She herself didn't care for the seal of Government on her doc.u.ments or her recommendation from Ryōko. She wanted to see Tearju for herself and a.s.sess her.

If she cannot pa.s.s her standards then she can take away her stamped doc.u.ments and get a job at even better schools such as U.A. for all she cares.

Tearju fell silent after hearing Kana's words.

She slowly thought over her words as her disgust slowly grew.

This disgust wasn't directed towards Kana but herself. She slowly went over her oast and as Kana said, her real job was lucrative, she was indeed a genius and incredibly pa.s.sionate about the subject. Not only that she even managed to get results which were far more outstanding than the outdated research of quirks she had to carry on the surface to compensate the government.

But what she didn't know was that her failures also cost the lives of many innocent beings to whom she once swore in her heart that she will bring happiness by her knowledge.

All she wanted to do was to bring the current technology and scientific knowledge of the whole galaxy and take another step forward.

A step that would open the gates to a whole new world of understanding!

A whole new way to look at life and the miraculous creations of the universe.

A whole new way to understand the mysterious concepts such as dark matter.

But all that was left in her hands was the blood of all the innocent lives harmed and all her eyes could see were the pile and piles of corpses that laid bare in front of her.

After all that, she understood that she was way past the point to ask for forgiveness even if she didn't directly kill anyone. All she could do was redeem for her sins and at least, bring happiness to the people around her.

After contacting Ryōko, she did think that her new job as a nurse would be able to create a sense of peace in her mind but all she did was cause more troubles.

Not only that, she was even subjected to the hara.s.sment of her co-workers many times because of her beautiful face and curvy body.

Even the stares directed towards her from the patients were slightly intolerable but she kept on going because of the constant river of blood flowing in front of her eyes.

She took a deep breath and spoke slowly.

"You are wrong, Princ.i.p.al Kojima."

"Hmm? How?"

She looked at Tearju with interest in her eyes.

"I may be a genius and pa.s.sionate about the subject and I am not going to lie, I even enjoyed all the attention."

She looked at Kana with a smile so miserable that even she couldn't help but frown.

"But I was young. I didn't know the consequences of my actions and all I can do now is repent."

"It was my dream to take my study one step forward but dreams change and so does people.

I am not the same person who I was before. Even though I don't have any experience about teaching students, I do have the experience to nurture them and I can show my strengths to you if you give me one chance."

She looked at Kana right into her eyes with her own pair of Emerald green eyes.

Kana also didn't shy away and kept staring in those determined eyes for a while.

"Not everything can be achieved by determination alone. You have your chance, Tearju-san. Welcome to Sainan Middle School."

Kana stood up, showcasing her long legs dressed in black stockings that only left a small part of her thighs exposed.

She extended her hand and Tearju also stood up with a grateful expression and shook her hand.

"Oh, one more thing. Please be careful about your outfit. Just like Ryōko-san, I will also cut your pay if you try to pull off such a stunt in the school."

"Yes!"

Tearju nodded excitedly.

"Well, then. Please meet up with Ryōko-san as she will walk you around the school. Meanwhile, you will be notified about your cla.s.ses through email. You can start from tomorrow, right?"

"Yes, Princ.i.p.al Kojima. Thank you very much."

"Please don't thank me, just prove that giving you your job is a wise decision on my part."

As she said, she also walked out with Tearju.

"Um, Princ.i.p.al Kojima? Are you going to meet Ryōko, too?"

"Hmm? Oh no, there is a student who broke the school code and used his quirk inside the school. I am going to punish him."

She then suddenly thought and looked at Tearju.

"Maybe, you should come and spectate."

"Is that right?"

"Why not? You are new to the school and you still need to understand the kinds of punishment in this school that is personally handled by me."

"You?"

"Yes!"

Kana pointed at the slowly forming horn on her forehead and smiled at Tearju.

"This is my quirk, Oni."

"Oh, what is its function, Princ.i.p.al Kojima?"

"You'll see soon enough."
