Carl was certain he didn't just want her body or half baked confession. He wanted all of her. If he couldn't, there was no need settling for just her body.
Kim gently nibbled on his lips, seeking permission to intrude. She had expected him to return her kiss or turn away but he did neither. He laid like a block of ice.
Unmoving, unfeeling.
Did she really think that kissing him could alleviate his pain or cause him to change his mind?
Of course not!
She did not want to just give up so her hands found his body. She could feel him trembling under her touch but he did not care to return her kisses.
A few seconds without any response from him made her feel stupid, so she stopped. She took her hands out of his pyjamas.
"I don't want to let you go." She whispered.
"Why don't you?" He asked, his voice, low and husky. She had obviously awaken his desire.
Kim rested her hair on his chest, she could hear his racing heart, "Can't you just stay by my side?"
"I was by your side, remember?" He replied with his hands on her hair, softly caressing her.
"Technically, I'm still by your side but you have to understand siblings aren't this intimate, so you have to stop."
Carl was mocking her of course. It was absolutely ridiculous to say they were siblings after all the intimacy.
"I was wrong," she gulped her hands tightened around him.
He made no move to console or stop her.
"I'm tired, go to bed."
"You said you'll always love me."
"I thought my feelings were a joke to you. Up until today, you didn't trust me enough to believe my words, so why?"
"I believe you."
"Then you should know how hurt I was when you said that. Besides, you don't love me, so it shouldn't matter to you."
Kim had heard everything he said but was still shamelessly clinging to him.
"Nothing will change unless your feelings change… or I get over you." After he spoke, he shut his eyes. No room for any more argument or explanation.
…
The next morning when Carl woke up to prepare for work, he noticed the tray of food on the nightstand. He sat up, then his eyes land on his clothes on the couch. He didn't put them there so it must be her.
As he got up, she stepped out of the bathroom.
He gave a questioning glance.
"Your bath is ready." She said, her eyes usually bright seemed even more.. hopeful.
Puzzled, he asked, "What's going on?"
Kim tried to ease a non-existent itch on her hair, "Trying… Showing that I care about you."
"I told you not to feel obligated. You can't force feelings. If it's not there, it's not there."
Dropping her hands, she looked into his eyes, "Did I say I have no feelings for you? I like you."
Carl really did not want to have this conversation again, "Keyword, like."
Seeing that he wasn't moved by her effort, she started fidgeting, "Can't you wait for me?"
"Wasn't I doing just that until yesterday? Let it be, I think if we are meant to be, nothing can change that… so you don't need to do things like this. Just be you."
Kim felt defeated by his words, she summonded courage to ask the last question on her mind, "What can I do to get you?"
He chuckled lightly, "You did not have to do anything cause I loved you already but to you, what Sean thought was much more important than my feelings.
Kim sensed the mockery in his tone. She hurriedly wrapped her hands around him. In a wobbly voice, she said, "I don't want you to go. You can only be mine."
Carl slowly peeled her hands away. Kim did her best to hold him in place but he almost pushed her away.
He left her one final statement, "You don't need to clean or cook anymore, there'll be someone coming in to take care of that.
That day, for the first time, he rejected her advances. He didn't eat the food, neither did he wear the things she picked out. Even the bath water wasn't spared as he opted for a shower. Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.webnovel.com for visiting.
He acted like nothing happened whatsoever. Actually, many times he wanted to give in, especially when she kissed him. When her hands caressed him, it took everything in him not to respond. He couldn't hide the fact that he was still affected by her.
May be if she had said she loved him, he would have discarded the pain he felt the previous day and embraced her.
This time around Carl felt he should punish her a little.
After he left for work, Kim cried herself to sleep.
