Carl was stunned when he felt her lips, he didn't expect her to kiss him, he a.s.sumed it should be the man to make the move. But tasting her lips, he wanted more, closing his eyes, he pulled her closer, his hands were on her waist while hers moved from his neck to his hair.. 'more,' that's all her mind thought as she pushed her tongue into his mouth. She could taste the food, they were eating before the fight. As it was their first kiss, it was chaste but desire and need deepened it. It was all pure insticts.
As Kim broke away, she noticed his eyes were still closed, she began giggling. He opened his eyes at the sound of her happy voice. But when she saw the desire, embarra.s.sment ate her up, it was no longer funny. She could not bare to be around him again, getting up, she was about to run to the room when he held her back. Her only thought was her wish for the floor to open up and swallow her.
'If this would be her reaction whenever Judith comes around, I pray she would always come,' Carl thought as he stared at Kim who was red from embarra.s.sment. 'Ahem ahem,' she cleared her throat. May be the adrenaline rush was finally over, sweat trickled down her face as she was nervous. What should she say? What could she say? While she was thinking of ways to get out of the situation his phone rang, as he lost focus, she got up, carried her plate and water and ran back to the room. She wasn't about to starve just because she was a nervous wreck.
As he watched he run to the kitchen, he smiled before picking his phone, that's when he realized Ryan was not there. "h.e.l.lo.." Ryan said in a low unsure voice as he a.s.sumed he had committed a grave sin. "Where are you?" Carl asked, his voice, shaky betraying his false calm. Ryan who was not aware of the situation made another false a.s.sumption. "I'm at the airport.. I'm going back to the capital." He replied. "Don't go home if you're still scared, go to your grandparents'." Carl didn't try to make him stay, he allowed Ryan to make whatever decision he wanted. "Sure." Ryan said. Before he hung up, he heard his brother say, "Don't blame yourself." He could only give a bitter smile in acknowledgement before he heard the announcement for his flight.
After that, Carl picked up his phone to search for places where he could train within the city. He picked the one with the highest rating and best review. The trainers were mostly former soldiers so he was satisfied he quickly signed up. He thought about Kim, may be he could sign up for her too. He called out her name, she didn't answer. He knocked on the door, "Come out." He said. She simply replied, "Not today." Realizing she was too embarra.s.sed, he went back to continue his meal before cleaning up. Kim was not sure how she should face Carl, should she act like nothing happened? This thought saddened her. She laid on the bed until she fell asleep.
On the other side of town, Judith was hesitating. She couldn't bring herself to go home, what would happen if rumours spread? Her thought was a little too late as the hashtags were revived. She didn't expect things to turn out the way they did. The first time, she was placed under house arrest, she wasn't sure what would happen this time around. While she was contemplating, her phone rang, it was none other than her husband, Brandon. Rather than go home, she turned off the phone and asked the driver to drop her at a hotel. She was hoping he would calm down by the next day when she went home but she didn't know this was only the beginning of her fall. Her action cemented her husband's decision to follow the will of his parents and pursue a mistress.
After his wife failed to pick up, he left the house in a fit of rage to his parents house. When his mother saw him, she knew it was either business at work or his wife. On knowing it was because of Judith, she saw it as a chance to get what she wanted, so she called one of the mistresses she selected.
