Two weeks pa.s.sed after the pa.s.sing of Lord Zhong and as Xing predicted, a vast army containing fifty thousand tribal soldiers marched towards the southern borders of the Wind Kingdom.

Xing was in the Imperial Study discussing the findings of the memorials she had read this far. She had sent Lin Mubai to investigate around the villages where activities of Shengli were found and she had received information that there was an abandoned building filled with the uniforms of the Earth Kingdom Soldier's uniforms.

"So what are we supposed to do? Should we send our soldiers to that area to look for s.h.i.+hong?", Rijun who was amazed how she could just decrypt these details from reading memorials day and night asked her. The Emperor was surprised too. Even though he meets her every day, this is the first time he is hearing it too.

" They won't find anything! He probably left those places by now!", Xing replied as if it was a matter of fact and pulled out a paper for the use of the Emperor and started writing making Rijun angry.

Xing rubbed her head pouting and looked for Mo Chen and sighed to see that He was sleeping lying beside the Emperor. That explains brother's over-confidence!

"Don't call me spoony Xia, Rijun! Father named me Mingxia. You are disrespecting father", she gritted her teeth. She already has Haru who calls her stupid. Why should there be another?

"How dare you call me by my name? I'm your elder brother. Call me, big brother, SPOONY XIA", he tried to hit her and Xing blocked him and the siblings bantered for some time with the Emperor watching them with a smile in his face when Mo Chen slightly opened his eyes making Rijun go numb.

He closed her mouth with his hands and whispered, " Please, don't make a sound, Mingxia. Don't let that tiger wake up", he pleaded making Xing smirk as she pushed his hands away.

She knew her brother always calls her 'Mingxia' and only calld her 'spoony Xia' after Shengli left.

Xing was content and continued to write. She then pushed the paper towards Rijun and asked him to draw a jar the size of her palm with some artworks on it.

"What is this jar for? And why do you need two hundred of them?", Rijun asked after finis.h.i.+ng the drawings listening to her instructions. He read the letter addressed to the village head who does this porcelain pottery to deliver two hundred of these small jars as soon as possible.

" Are you buying these for your personal purposes? It is wrong to use your power to do that....", Rijun was lecturing and Xing don't bother answering him and casually picked the Dragon Seal and used it to sign the letter making Rijun go red with anger.

"How dare you use the Dragon seal? Don't you have the phoenix seal at your disposal? ", he shouted making Mo Chen wake up. But Rijun didn't notice and continued to shout at her.

"Why are you letting her do this?", his anger turned towards the Emperor too who was reading the letter by now.

"What are these for?" the Emperor questioned. He didn't mind her using his seal. She is not someone who is frivolous at these things! She must have a reason.

"Don't you want food?", she asked back making the both more confused. Is she going to sell this and get food? If so, two hundred of these isn't enough, right?

Right then an Eunuch asked for audience and everyone got to their positions properly.

"The Prime Minister sent information that the meeting is commencing"

The eunuch informed respectfully and he purposely avoided to look at Xing. Xing rolled her eyes. Father!

She had heard that her father had pa.s.sed out a circular that he'll personally gouge out the eyes of whoever looks at the Empress. She thought it was a hoax but turns out it's not. Even eunuchs are afraid to look at my face!

"I know. And send this out immediately at top priority", he gave the letter Xing wrote ow and the Eunuch got it and left.

"What meeting?", Xing asked seeing the both of them a little fidgety and trying to get her to leave.

"Nothing", both said in unison confirming her belief that both are hiding something from her and both focused their eyes on everywhere except on her.

"Mo Chen, does my brother smell good today?", Xing asked in Guyu language and Mo Chen eagerly went to Rijun's side making Rijun shake in his knees.

"The Envoys from the United Tribes are here for a negotiation. Father told us not to let you know. Even cousin-in - law is here, it seems" Rijun closed his ears with his hands and rightly shut his eyes and spoke in a racy manner.

The Emperor slammed the table because that scaredy cat Rijun spilled the beans and looked at her with expectations. 'Please stay here and spare us from the wrath of the Prime Minister!'

" Cousin-in-law?", Xing was confused for a moment, " Do you mean... Chief Batukhan is here?"

Rijun nodded. "Isn't he your brother-in-law?", Xing asked in a mocking tone making Rijun's face twist with disgust, "WanRou is not my sister...You are! "

Xing chuckled at her brother's answer and tried to leave when Concubine Ying brought a tray filled with various delicacies and a nouris.h.i.+ng soup to the Emperor. Her face went places when she saw Xing there and gave her a polite curtsey hiding her disappointment.

The Emperor tried to send her away but Xing who could hear her thoughts through her face let her in and sat in the chair beside the Emperor's.

"Concubine Ying! How thoughtful of you! Now serve us", Xing smiled making her face twitch.

The Emperor didn't touch any of the stuff she brought him but Xing had a taste of everything.

" I'm sure. But try not to as much as possible", he pursed his lips and nodded.

"Okay!", she turned to leave.

"Are you sure?", Rijun asked the Emperor and he nodded.

"Mo Chen! Accompany the Empress!", he ordered and MoChen just followed her.

The Emperor wasn't allowed to meet the envoys because it would be giving them too much face, the court had decided.

But she can and he has sent his pet panther with her and Mo Chen is like a walking dragon seal so no one would oppose her.
