Bai Li looked at s.h.i.+hong on the floor in a pitiable state and he knew who did it. She was a bit cruel to her own standards but it doesn't matter anymore. What matters is finding Old Rong.

Old Rong has become too weak that no one could detect him like they would detect a G.o.d and most of them don't know, how the weapon he was trapped in looked like. They had a general idea that it was a halberd but the true appearance of that halberd, no one knew and the Tians.h.i.+ Emperor made sure that only he knew Old Rong's true form.

Bai Li looked around to see various weapon and there were at least fifteen halberd in that room and how could one find out which is containing Old Rong?

Bai Li saw Chenglie and Xing there in the corner.... Doing whatever!

Chenglie was pressing Xing in the wall holding her cheeks and her arms were wrapped around him and he could only see his back in his view, with his form enveloping her. Who knows what they are upto? As per his knowledge about the trials, the lovers won't be allowed to meet each other until the trial is over and even if they try to, they won't be able to meet. So how come these two has chances to meet each other this often?

Whatever! These two never followed any rules anyway! So he decided to do what they must be doing... Finding Old Rong!

He took his human form and his silver hair and red Ruby eyes as enchanting as it is enticed s.h.i.+hong who was currently seeing everything a bit out of focus as he had rubbed his eyes hard. But even he could say he was in front of some Fox Demon and he felt nervous seeing him transform in front of him.

How is that one getting all the powerful ones by her side? A nine-tailed fox..? Seriously?

"Where are you hiding him?", Bai Li asked s.h.i.+hong who was now kneeling in front of him covering his face. His face was hideous with all the bruises and the dried blood and hair was blown out everywhere on the floor and the already messy room had become messier with those two lovebirds who pushed everything in their way.

" Who? ", s.h.i.+hong asked back not bowing down to power as he is the one usually having the upper hand.

*Whoosh*

A circle of fire formed around s.h.i.+hong with the snap of Bai Li's fingers. He usually don't have to resort to these drastic measures but he knew Xing still sometimes had nightmares of that fire in her courtyard and this person caused it. Even though he is with her to pay his debt to her ancestor, he came to like this la.s.s as he spent time more with her.

And he likes to play with fire but he is forbidden to do so! But the G.o.ds will make an exception for this issue, he knew.

The fire sizzled and the hair on the floor caught in its way and and a sulphurous odour filled the room and yet s.h.i.+hong refused to cooperate.

Xing and Chenglie who had finished their intense kissing session was just hugging each other and Chenglie's guilt was washed away by Xing's honest pa.s.sion towards him. But Chenglie could feel Xing wanted to tell him a lot of things and the mild dark circles under her eyes worried him.

Is she suffering somehow? She seemed to have lost some weight too! That is not good...

Before he could ask her about it, the awful smell filled the room and Xing felt it really satisfying to see s.h.i.+hong there on the floor whimpering as fire surrounded him.

Good! Now we are even... Almost!

"Old Rong must be here", Chenglie whispered, "He still had the halberd with him when I went to get you"

He could feel Xing in his arms tense up at the mention of old Rong.

But why? He wondered. Even Old Rong is fearing her that he will be squashed by her and she is obviously stronger than him. She knows we can be together after she kills him too. So why is she hesitating?

Chenglie who felt like she was scared, renntuhugged her close to him and she buried herself in his embrace.

"Xing, what is it?", he asked in a whisper. She just shook her head and hugged him closer and she was almost in a s.h.i.+ver. Chenglie realised she is not fine. Just what happened?

While she was looking at s.h.i.+hong an object that looked metallic, under the big canopy bed, caught her eye.

Could that be a halberd? When there are other weapons around here, why is that particular one kept safely under the bed? Could it be...

No...It is just a stick! A stick! I refuse to believe otherwise... It is not Old Rong! Xing's heart started to beat out of he chest.

If it is old Rong, I will have to kill him now... I will kill him easily and what will happen next? Should I just kill him and get it over with? But I'm scared of what will happen next...

Will the G.o.ds let me and Chenglie go? Or will they show their true intentions and kill me as a precaution in case I become a thorn by their side?

I can suffer... But what if they do something to Chenglie or my family, to teach me a lesson? They didn't think twice before making sure I won't be able to carry a child... What if they do something worse to be sure?

I don't want to die...I don't want to see any deaths either.. I just want to become Chenglie's wife...!

Her thoughts went beyond her control thinking all negative thoughts...

So, if I'll be spared until I kill Old Rong and they will keep their word to protect Chenglie till then, I will make sure that it takes a while... I want to see him live well for a little longer...!I just want to live a little longer! I just want to stay by his side a little longer...!

Xing's thoughts were overwhelming her and she could not help but bury herself deep in his chest that seemed warmer than ever.

I just want to stay with him!

"Xing", Chenglie patted Xing's head who was now wrapping around and gripping him hard like a boa constrictor, "It's okay, my moon...! I'm here... "

He didn't know what was going on in her head and he just wanted to pick her up and leave for a day or two to get her mind at ease. She definitely is not fine!

His gentle voice seemed to have done the trick and she let her grip on him loose and looked at him. Her arms were around his waist and her eyes held many secrets that she wanted to share with him.

From the part that she is a descendant of the Tians.h.i.+ Emperor to his brother being confused by the G.o.ds.... She wanted to tell him everything... As she always would...

It's fine... He is near me now! He is fine... I'm fine... This is enough! Xing calmed her heart.

"I...", she was about to talk when she felt another strong presence she was used to...

"I'm fine!", Xing who had almost forgot everything good in her life brought by that G.o.d , smiled dryly and pushed Chenglie back.

Chenglie saw her pupils dilated and she was breathing heavily and she seemed jumpy, ready to run away any moment as if she was terrified of something.
