In the vast seas, a certain luxury s.h.i.+p with a Wolf carving painted blood-red, a couple of families travelled to the south.

Chenglei watched Xing playing heartily with Little Yun, Seiren's daughter. Xinxin and She is just a little younger than Xinxin and she's extremely pretty with her pale skin and rosy cheeks. She took after her father and had the temperament of her mother. Little Ning, Seiren's eldest son was playing with his sword and taught his moves to little Xinxin outside under the supervision of Lin Mubai.

Seiren had dumped his children with them to have a "good time" with his wife.

'Don't I need "good time" with my wife too? ', Chenglei frowned.

"It should be amazing having a daughter taking after her father, don't you think, hubby?", Xing asked Chenglei breaking his thoughts. Though her tone seemed soft since she was with kids, Chenglei could trace the accusation in it too.

It's not like I don't want a daughter, right?

" No, girls should take after their mother,my love. Especially ours...Imagine how beautiful she would be!", he saw Xing slightly blus.h.i.+ng and was pleased and he imagined a cute daughter like his wife.

"Ah!... No...no! If our daughter takes after you, there will be a lot of perverts running around behind her... No way... See.... This is why we cannot have girls... We cannot raise a cute girl just for a man to take her away from us, Xing.! No! No girls for us. No way! ", Chenglei was seriously explaining and seeing Xing's glare stopped himself and chuckled awkwardly.

'I'm not wrong though! Looks like my wife likes daughters more than me', he wasn't happy.

"Speaking of appearances...", he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and she pushed it away. Still he continued without minding her anger and tried to change her mood.

"Don't you think Little Ning looks too much like Huojin than Seiren?", his tone was low and gossipy so that only Xing hears him.

"Oh, reeaalllly?", Xing raised her eyebrows and looked at him, "Little Zai resembles you more than his father too, dear. You think there is something I need to know?", Xing traced her forefinger through his collar and grabbed it as he grinned ear to ear and the corners of his lips twitched.

"No... Nothing! Now I understand.... They are brothers.... See, Little Yun is trying to tell you something. I'll leave now", he deflected and stood up to leave.

"Oh come on! Just join me", Xing pulled his hand and with a smile, Chenglei bent to kiss Xing's forehead when little Yun closed her eyes with her hands.

"I won't disturb your game", she said making Xing chuckle.

"See, that pretty boy taught his children well. We should too", Chenglei whispered as he planted a kiss on his wife's lips and sat beside her.

Xing, watching Little Yun playing with the little daggers on the table went to deep thoughts. She could understand why the Emperor didn't care about the refusal of Zhong family in the war and his refusal to mobilise the Zhong army.

Since Chenglei felt the city is not safe for his children and left, he planned everything to cleanse the court so that the city becomes safe. Then others will definitely notice the absence of Prince Jin and wouldn't want to disturb him anymore.

The Emperor did all that and would have predicted that Chenglei would return once the city is safe but he didn't for three months. And he himself would have missed his brother and so he let the war happen without involving the Zhong family to get his brother involved.

And since his brother didn't return even then, he has planned the last attempt to bring his brother back to the city, by his side. He would have realised the sneak attack the United Army planned and refused Seiren's help since he knew his brother and Xing wouldn't sit in their hands once they realise the danger their country is in.

In fact, even if the United Army attacks, the Imperial Army of the Wind Kingdom will send people there within a week and beat them. But in that one week, a lot of civilian life would be lost. Life of the people of Wind Kingdom. And his brother and his wife will not allow it.

And the Emperor predicted right!

The Li and Lord Zhong's family are currently travelling to the South Western Borders in the Scarlet Wolf.

After Xing read Seiren's letter, she predicted that Seiren would be already on his way to their Manor and she asked Chenglei to prepare the Scarlet Wolf and a couple of s.h.i.+ps leave for the South. Since there is a desert in their way, sea journey would be faster than land travel.

They didn't have an army but some well trained guards and Chenglei's secret a.s.sa.s.sins. And Seiren wasn't allowed to mobilise the army and so he only had the maximum number of soldiers allowed for a private army. He had left the city in the premise that he is going to spend some time vacationing with Prince Jin.

Already there were rumours that the Zhong family have united with Prince Jin and soon they will attack the capital city.

But they are actually going to the southern borders to defend the lives of their people as per the plans of the Emperor.

He acted a bit sneaky, out of his own thoughts, but... That's how much he trusts them. He knows how they will react and they will in no way break that trust.

"Your highness, my father doesn't allow me to train with a sword", Little Yun spoke with her cheeks puffed, cutely waving one of the unsharpened daggers.

"You should address me as Aunty Xing in private, did you forget, cutie?", Xing pinched that cute cheek and she giggled shyly with her entire face blus.h.i.+ng.

She never learns!

"Okay"

"If you want to learn sword, you can learn it once you get a bit older, okay? Your father won't stop you", Xing told that little girl whose smile closely resembling her mother's.

"But my brother started learning sword at my age. Why can't I?", she pouted and then her expression got a bit mischievous as she but her lips and grinned, "But uncle teaches me in secret"

She said and within a moment, her smile froze, her eyes watered and her lips trembled, "Please don't tell my father, Aunty Xing. Father will not allow my uncle to teach me anymore"

"Okay, I will keep it a secret", Xing placed her hand over her heart and promised and only then the child smiled again.

That night, during dinner Xing noticed the flushed Maya and kept herself from laughing out loud. She looked like she had ran miles.

"Your daughter said the exact same thing you said about your father", Xing told Seiren as they were chatting after dinner.

"My father didn't let me touch the sword even though my brother was allowed at that age", she paraphrased and she noticed Seiren's face change in realisation.

After that, Little Yun was allowed to train and she became interested in navy and since she was close with Xing, joined the Ouyang Navy and later married Haru's second son who was the commander of the Ouyang Navy.

Soon they reached the South and along with Chenglei's small army and Zhong's elite army, they reached the city close to the port where they predicted the troops from the United Army would attack.

The una.s.suming people in the city first were surprised by the sudden visit of Prince Jin and Lord Zhong but they weren't let to be surprised for long as their spies came back panicked telling about the arrival of the United army, a lot of them- the legendary female soldiers of the United army who they thought to be a old-wives tale.

"What do you think, Maya?", Xing looked at Maya as they stood on the watchtower seeing the thousands upon thousands of women marching towards the city.

"What else"

Maya smirked and both Xing and Maya ran to their tent and got changed to a comfortable wear which would allow them to move freely unlike those silk dresses.

"No! Xing, no!", Chenglei gritted his teeth. "You are pregnant"

"Join me, then", Xing smirked as she took a horse followed by Maya with her bow and arrows and Seiren stood there shaking his head.

Someone made a bet with him that she'd never get involved too much in politics! And there she is... Going to fight in the frontlines.

Some people are more comfortable walking over the tightrope. She is one too!

And...

I WON! I WON! FINALLY I WON A BET AGAINST HER!

"Milord! Thousand gold coins, don't forget!", he screamed as Xing waved her hands and left the city gates with the little army following her.

"Watch the kids!", Chenglei got on a horse and chased after his wife.

Who else would watch his wife's back?

And so that day, the Princess Consort and Prince Jin along with the Lady of the Zhong family proved their worth and reminded everyone, why they must be adored by the ma.s.ses and not to be messed with.

The next day the troops from the Imperial army reached the city as they got news of the battle and they had no enemy left.

The battle against twenty thousand female soldiers was won by two women , Prince Jin and five hundred trained guards of Prince Jin and Zhong army.

News spread fast like wildfire from the cheering people of the city to the entire Wind Kingdom.

The Prince and the Princess Consort along with the Lord and Lady of Zhong family won a battle for the Kingdom. They never betrayed the kingdom but they are heros.
