Lillian unlocked the door and let Anna inside first. Anna, as soon as she entered, threw her bags on the living room and went to take a shower. All that walking worn her and her muscles ached from pain.
"Lilly, I'll take a shower first. Please." Anna yelled while running upstairs.
Lillian didn't get bothered much. She kept the food on the dining table and returned to the living room, and fell on the couch. Without her knowledge, she drifted off to sleep.
Anna came down after her shower; informing Lillian to get one next. When she reached downstairs, Anna found Lillian entirely wore out. Lillian slept, crouching herself in that couch to fit her entire body. On top of that, she was sweating so badly.
Anna approached Lillian and gently patted on her shoulders, trying to wake her up. Lillian tossed around eventually falling on the floor. Anna got surprised she went on to help Lillian get up.
"What happened?" Lillian asked.
"You were sleeping. Go on, take a shower. Let's eat dinner and then go to bed." Anna replied.
Lillian nodded; making way to her room. She removed her dress and entered the shower. The minute when the cold water touched her exposed skin, Lillian jolted from her exhaustion. It kickstarted all of the nerves. She cleansed herself before getting into the bathtub for a soak.
Lillian spent a few minutes inside the hot bath soaking her body. The hot water soothed her skin, releasing the stress slowly. Lillian exhaled.
...
After a hot bath, Lillian came downstairs in her nightwear. She saw Anna watching television. Somehow, gazing at Anna made Lillian feel guilty. Although she modeled her dresses and spent time with her towards the end, leaving Anna alone by herself made Lillian regret. They have been friends for a long time since childhood. Anna is the one person, Lillian felt sharing all of her worries, regardless of anything.
Out of nowhere, Lillian thought about sharing the whole Giselle incident with her close friend, Anna. It could be the perfect chance for them to talk in complete privacy. Lillian almost got convinced to spill the tea but, the images of exposing Giselle without her consent made Lillian withdraw from her decision. However, Lillian decided to worry about it in the future and have fun with her friend, right now.
Still, knowing about her friends, Lillian knew that it isn't going to be a long time before dropping the secrets. Slowly, from the rear, Lillian tip-toed; approaching the guardless target watching the television. Anna noticed the ghostly image lurking behind her. She knew that it is her friend, Lillian Grey.
"Don't even think about scaring me!" Anna's voice roared, making Lillian lose the battle. She hissed in disappointment.
"You could've at least acted along for fun," Lillian submitted.
Anna turned around to give a glare; her eyes emitted a killer intent. Anna wasn't in the mood to play.
Lillian coughed, moving on to see the shopping bags. She picked all of them single-handedly and approached Anna to sit next to her.
"Let's see what you got. You took an awful lot of time to decide. It better be worth," Lillian announced while removing the shopping bag to reveal the purchased items.
Lillian's dress was the final pick which means Anna completed her shopping before that. Lillian got curious to know, what she had purchased with the hard saved money.
First one is Lillian's dress. It is a partywear bodycon dress. After a lengthy trial session, Anna bought Lillian a dress, that fitted her the best. Lillian is never a fan of the bodycon kind of dresses, only because it looks super tight exposing her frame which makes her uncomfortable and completely rules out her ideology of fas.h.i.+on which is the comfort.
As soon as she saw her dress, Lillian shoved it back into the shopping bag, wrapping it up tightly, never to open in the future.
"Don't think that I'll let you escape from wearing that. When the time comes, you will be wearing that for sure," Anna spoke, her eyes still focused on television. She knew Lillian exploring the shopping bags from the beginning.
Lillian pouted at her comment. Anna stayed firm with her decision.
"Fine. We'll see it in the future." Lillian announced moving onto the next bag.
The next one was huge and held more than one item. Lillian exposed the content: a maroon colored scarf, a couple of bracelets, and a pendant. All had one thing in common, and that is the sparkling factor. Every single piece of the accessory sparkled in the light. Lillian chuckled at her friend's obsession with sparkles. She moved on to the next bag.
'A green colored pumps.'
Anna is a fan of heels and loved buying them. However, her mother imposed a strict rule of only getting pumps for now. Maybe when she's old enough, then Anna can own high heels. Lillian admired the footwear for a few seconds and then moved onto the final bag, which held a pair of jeans.
That concluded Lillian's curiosity.
"I'm still surprised about how you managed to save money for all these things," Lillian muttered.
"If it's something that you love and care about, you would do it too." Anna gave a standard response.
She then stood up to bring in the food. Lillian joined in as they both enjoyed the Chinese food.
...
Dinner got over, and the girls are now devouring the ice cream that Lillian bought yesterday for their weekend purpose. There wasn't necessarily any conversation but, silence killed both.
Lillian ate restlessly, and Anna stayed calm.
The tension between the two broke when Lillian spoke first.
"Alright" Lillian shouted catching Anna's attention.
"Something happened," Lillian said.
Anna quickly changed her posture to face Lillian Grey who's ready to spill the tea.
"I knew it," Anna screamed back.
Literally, after reuniting with her friend at the mall, Anna could sense the change in Lillian's mood. Although she didn't want to pry her privacy, Anna waited patiently for Lillian to bring it up.
To the amazement of Lillian's shock, Anna expressed the need to know everything. Hence, she initiated the girl's talk that night; letting Lillian continue with whatever story she had it in her bag.
"You knew it?" Lillian asked in a daze.
"I knew it! More like your face revealed itself." Anna replied.
"Lilly, you're an open book, and I can read you easily. I don't know about others but I've known you for decades, and I could freaking tell that you saw something or faced something that changed your mood." Anna exploded.
Lillian can't hide it anymore as she felt helpless in this situation.
"Fine."
"I'll tell you."
Lillian declared.
...
Anna patiently waited as Lillian spoke about meeting the person who had confessed to her. Anna's face expressed hysteria. She didn't interrupt and listened to Lillian silently.
...
"WHAT?" Anna yelled in disappointment.
"He did it on a whim! That b.a.s.t.a.r.d."
Anna purely believed that it is a boy who confessed to Lillian. The young Grey didn't mind it either as it is comfortable for her to keep Giselle unexposed.
"So that happened, and I got p.i.s.sed off so, I kept walking until you called me." Lillian completed the story.
Anna raged in anger. She kept cursing 'this guy' and his sudden change in att.i.tude.
Lillian didn't mind the cursing since it isn't intended for Giselle. Anna advised Lillian to avoid 'this guy' in the future and forgot about his fake confession. Probably after sharing it with Anna, Lillian felt relieved somehow. She took in her advice and decided to put an end to this whole 'Giselle' stuff.
"I agree."
"I've got only one thing on my mind. And that is to pa.s.s the Math test or else Mr. Seth would bury me alive for the rest of my high school life."
Lillian whined.
The girls talked late at night until they had no energy to utter a word no more. Anna stood up to hug Lillian.
"There, there."
"Don't worry about that guy and move on. I'm sure you will do alright." Anna comforted Lillian Grey and went ahead to sleep.
Lillian stayed over, cleaning the area where they had dinner. She then watched a movie until early morning and later went to bed.
...
The rest of the weekend went usual with Lillian and Anna playing video games, going to the library, and cooking meals at home. Anna tried teaching Lillian to cook but, it only ended up as a disaster. The guys returned to their homes. Edwin dropped Deigo at his home and then came back to his.
He saved the dish that he cooked at their fis.h.i.+ng trip for the girls. Anna and Lillian devoured it happily.
Edwin asked if the girls had a fun time, to which Anna mockingly replied that they had too much fun. Lillian shrugged.
Anna stayed back with Lillian and decided to go to school together the next day.
It's Sunday night, and Edwin cooked scrumptious dinner. It felt like a feast.
Edwin, Lillian, and Anna enjoyed their meal to conclude their weekend plans.
