Seeing she finally calmed down, Vivan stopped teasing her.

"Close your eyes." His voice was warm as a spring breeze. Yet it failed to entice her.

She widened them instead when he grabbed her hand.

Ira stared at his lower abdomen with hatred. What if she closed her eyes, and he placed her hand there? At this moment, impossible!

"No," she muttered under her breath.

Vivan scratched his head when he realized the site her eyes were focussed on. He felt his scalp tingling. What was this woman thinking? I am not that shameless.

She shook her head. You can't have your cake and eat it too. He wished to tease as well as be sincere at the same time.

"Okay" He sounded exhausted and powerless. Vivan pointed to the table, her eyes inadvertently moved there.

There was a platinum ring placed on it. She picked it in a jiff. It was a simple style ring with no diamonds or carvings of any patterns. Designed by a famous jewelry maker from Italy.

It only had the initials of their names, V I engraved the back.
He knew her preferences. Compared to the flashy display, she preferred simple and elegant things.

Until this day, he had never seen a ring on her finger. So initially he was worried the little one didn't like wearing any.
Hence he specifically asked the maker to design a silver chain so she could wear it as a necklace.

Just as Ira opened her mouth to say something, her right hand was caught by the man. He s.n.a.t.c.hed the ring. She tried to pull it back but her strength is too small compared to him.

"Stupid. It's yours." He flicked her forehead. And took her right hand again. Vivan bent her fingers, and slipped the ring in her sleek finger.
She still wore a confused look. He had embraced her arms, sniffing the fragrance of her body.
　　
"Good, you must wear it always," he said as he held her hand and pointed the ring on it. It s.h.i.+ned under the sun.

She stood like a piece of wood staring at her finger.

"What happened?" he asked.

Flabbergasted she spoke, "How?"

"You mean how did this ring appear here?" This woman would have had a perfect surprise but she refused to close her eyes. Now, why was she so hard to understand?

" I asked Ash to bring it. It turns out I have never gifted you any jewelry all these years, so I bought this as Valentine's gift."

"Why didn't you give it to me sooner? Valentine's day is long gone." She pouted and proceeded to take it off. "I had prepared many dishes with my own hands. You didn't even come back."

Fuelled with jealousy and anger he wasted the day. He a.s.sumed she would spend the day out. Instead, she was waiting for him.

"Okay. Sorry." He patted her hands and went along with her acting.

Upon hearing this, her black eyes lit. He finally won an eye-catching smile.

"I'll forgive you." It lasted for a second before her proud smug look took over.
