Chapter 85: Fetch Quest. Fari von D'azell . Previously Nanjou Yukiho, nicknamed Yuki by Kami.  Is currently 10 years of age. Ruby red long wavy hair and striking gold eyes not fitting her age. Also Fari uses, 私 aka female p.r.o.noun watas.h.i.+. Her Father is Gilbert Von D'azell. Master warrior. Quella von D'azell. Fari's older sister. Is 16, has silver hair and red eyes. 2 horns on her head, and two fangs in her mouth. She also uses the more masculine "Boku" refer to herself. Kami-sama, or also known as Kamille. Is a girl that looks 12 but is a G.o.d. Has silver hair and red eyes. Gave Fari, Exscolibur Rigurett Beuze Crausus or simply Rig: She is 14 Long blond silky hair, blue eyes. Uses 2 bayonet guns, and is really good at magic, four attribute magic. She actually speaks polite and proper, but that's hard to translate. Anne Cowlman: Half human half cat-girl. Has a normal human face with short brown hair but with cat ears and red cat like eyes, then has fur from the points of her hands, legs, and chest. Fur is striped with light brown on her brown fur, her tail has the same pattern. They are students of St. Valeria's Royal Hunter's Academy. Lilina is a magic's teacher. Also Girl X Girl can have babies. And zero "life" doesn't equal death, just fainting. Their Team's name is Pure Ruby Translator: Mamuni ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

With our hunter's registration finally over and we decided to do some quests and leave the capital city.

We picked up several subjugation quest on our way out of the city. The guild we picked them up from was actually the guild I sold my materials when I first came here. It was the main gate's Guild.

Subjugation quest are mainly to take out monsters or nest, more  so nest of monsters. If there are dangerous monsters in the vicinity of the capital, there will be a subjugation quest to go and crush them.

Monster nest are usually close to the main highway, but some of the them are in the forest.

Those are usually very difficult. But for us it will be no problem.

Because we are only E ranked we can only accept E ranked quests. We were given the E rank because we are new, and our team rank is E as well with all of us combined.

Regardless of the rank, we can probably fight far above an E rank.

So I'm not worried.

However we still shouldn't be careless.

We may abruptly be attacked by an high-ranked monster.

The basic positions of our team is Onee-sama and Anne-chan in the vanguard. With Rig and I being in the rear guard.

Normally rearguard would need to be extremely cautious encase of an ambush. However even though I'm considered a priest. I am a swordsman at heart. So there should be no problem.

Our journey began as we entered the forest. While heading towards our destination we would occasionally encountered monsters, however they were all weak when compared to us. All of them were ended with a single sword slash.

Of course we didn't forget to gather materials while we here.

We'd collect wild herbs and flowers when we saw them. If we found a wild animal we would hunt them as well.

The animals we did find were then cut up into parts.

All the materials we gathered were stored in my storage.

". . .Wow, Fari's storage is really useful."

Onee-sama muttered that as we walked.

"All of those materials, and along with the monster material. Will all of that fit?"

"Yeah. Also I have barely used any of the s.p.a.ce. There is plenty of room."

I confirmed that by using super search.

. . .Oh yeah.

"Speaking of storage. Onee-sama."

"What is it?"

"I'll give this back to you."

After saying that I took an object out of my storage.

It was a s.h.i.+eld made out of blood magic. The one my Onee-sama used during our mock battle. 

"Uwaaa!?. . .What the heck is that?. . .Oh that scared me for a second, I didn't know what that was at first. I forgot about that. . .Although I don't know what you want me to do with it?"

My Onee-sama said that in a surprised voice, but it eventually became tired.

The blood s.h.i.+eld melted in the floor and just became a splot. 

Well. . .I guess I wouldn't want that blood back in me. So that's an obvious response.

Chapter 86: The Nest.

We gradually got closer and closer to our destination.

We've already grown accustomed to walking in the forest just from our training. Although we were getting some valuable experience hunting creatures.

We made sure not to make any noise, keeping our prey in the dark.

And once we got in range of them, Rig and I shot Blitz at them.

Along with just the normal power of our Blitz, we also add a magic called "invisibility."

It's a spell that makes the object transparent. So giving it to Blitz makes it a transparent magic bullet.

". . . Kii~! Dang it!"

Rig raised her voice.

Oh another thing to note. Rig and I are competing against each other to see who can hunt more prey. Because everything needs to be a compet.i.tion between us.

I currently have my max seal on me, so we are almost the same level. Well her magic is actually higher than mine while I have my full seal on.

. . .However I am using super search, and that is super useful.

On top of that, we are using my super search not just to find prey, but also to gain information about our surroundings.

Regardless I see them before Rig and can get to them faster. 

Of course it has its limit. I can't search a vast area, only what's in close proximity, however. . .there is a difference between having a full 360 degree view in all directions, and Rig who can only see what's visible to her.

As a result of my over powered skill, I ended up with about five times as many successful hunts as Rig.

". . .Honestly, Fari. I want a rematch, this time I won't lose!"

"Okay, I accept your challenge."

For this challenge. . .I won't rely on my Super Search.

It's not good to be relying on that all the time. It would really undermine my training if I just relied on one of my strongest skills.

"Be quiet you two. We are approaching the Orc nest."

We both shut our mouths as my Onee-sama's snapped at us.

The vanguard got prepared as Rig and I prepared the rear.

After a little while we were met with an open s.p.a.ce.

It was an open s.p.a.ce in the middle of the forest, obviously made from cutting down trees.

In the middle was a dirt cavern.

Looking over there, was. . . 3 orcs? I feel like that's too little

Onee-sama said that too make this large of a deforested area and size of cavern it would need way more than 3 orcs.

"Nyah. Looking at it more. . .It's not just the smell of Orcs. There is another smell mixed in. . ."

Anne-chan said that while pinching her nose.

I guess beast women really do have a strong sense of smell. I don't know if that is a curse or blessing. Smelling everything could be really stinky.

We decided to stay hidden and keep a watch on them.

Rig used a magical spell to make it difficult for them too find us. Along with some gra.s.s and leaves to cover us, it would be a near impossible for our cover to be blown.

Even though I was supposed to be the support, Rig ended up using the support spells. I just simply didn't know those types of spells yet.

Rig really is amazing.

Chapter 87: An Unexpected Event. 

We watched the Orc nest for a while longer until 2 more Orcs returned.

Apparently they were out hunting animals. Soon after that, they started to bake the meat over a bonfire.

Monsters do have some intelligence.

There are no monsters as smart as humans, but most of them have a certain amount of intelligence to them. For example like these Orcs. They know how to cook meat over a bonfire, also create a cavern into the dirt while chopping wood down.

Orcs are a monster about 2 meters tall. Very muscular with considerable strength. Their face is closer to a Gorilla than a Human, characterized with a sharp jaw and sharp eyes. 

This monster excels in powerful attacks, but they aren't that smart. So it's not too hard to defeat them.

However something is off. Currently there is 5 orcs in total, but that's still far to little for a nest this large.

". . .How do you want to go about this?"

Onee-sama asked all of us that.

"Nyah, let's wait. Something is wrong here. I can smell it. . .and it's different from the smell of their catch. Something is stuck to their smell."

"So you think there is somebody else living there?"

"Nyeah."

I'll a.s.sume she is right.

". . .Something has to be causing this smell."

"I heard that Orcs sometimes cohabitate with other monsters.- – -"

Right when my Rig said that, something started to stir.

Suddenly the Orcs stopped talking.

What is that?. . .

It sounds like. . . footsteps?

It was getting closer.

The ground started to shake even more as something appeared from the forest.

". . .That's a cyclops."

My Onee-sama whispered.

It had a huge body, easily over 6 meters.

It's arms thicker than the nearby trees. It's whole body bulging with muscles.

The most distinctive thing was it's huge eye in the center of its face and a horn on the top of it's head.

The cyclops walked forward and looked around the nest.

"Nyah, I see. That was the smell."

"But you don't see cyclops here. Cyclops are temperate, they should hate groups. You'd never even seem them coexist with different monsters."

Rig said that and my Onee-sama nodded.

"Perhaps it's a symbiotic relations.h.i.+p."

"What do you mean?"

"Well Cyclops are more intelligent than other monsters. So perhaps they could consider the Orcs more as livestock or pets, maybe minions? Not friends or group memb-"

My Onee-sama's words were interrupted as a spectacle started in front of us.

The Cyclops walked forwards as the Orcs presented the prey they had cooked.

The Cyclops picked it up and ate it all in one bite. However it didn't seem satisfied by it. All the sudden it kicked one of the Orcs 10 meters away.

Soon after that Orcs took out their homemade clubs.

However they didn't attack, they simply ran back into the forest.

The now injured Orc that was kicked away also took out it's club and entered the forest.

Once that was over, the Cyclops simply sat down in the center of the nest and surveyed it's surroundings.

". . .It looks like I was right."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

"That Cyclops seems to be a rather harsh individual. It was also able to get Orcs to follow it. This could lead to them harming humans."

"And if the Cyclops is smart enough to force these Orcs to follow it. It may expand it's Orc community and make it into a huge gang."

As expected, Rig and my Onee-sama understood how dangerous this situation could become.

We could not leave this Cyclops do as it pleases. 

". . .Alright. Fari can you check it's status?"

"Roger that."

I did as my Onee-sama commanded and searched the Cyclops with Super Search.

Cyclops.

Life: 19,258

Attack Power: 3805

Defense: 920

Magical Power: 57

Agility: 286

Skills: Super Strength. (C)

Magical Apt.i.tude:

Magical Resistance:

That's a ma.s.sive attack power. I've never seen it so high.

Super Strength: Raises the attack power status.

Okay that makes sense. The Skill must have an impact on its status.

"How is it Fari?"

"It's attack power and Life are quite high. . .Our normal attacks aren't likely to do that much damage to him, and his skill gives him an enormous amount of power. However his agility is quite low, so as long as we avoid his attack we'll be fine."

"Okay, we need to just avoid it's attacks."

My Onee-sama said with a naturally bitter smile.

Actually the vanguard will be most at risk. So Onee-sama and Anne-chan need to especially be careful.

"Perhaps it doesn't need to be so risky. If Anne-chan can do a surprise attack. I can shoot for a fatal attack."

"That would make it easier, Rigurett-sama."

"Nyah, I understand."

Thus we began our cyclops extermination plan.

Chapter 88: Victory and Disbelief.

I first applied some support magic to Anne-chan before she went in.

It was a magic that temporarily increased her agility and physical capabilities. It was actually an original spell. One made by me.

I simply collected my magical power around her. It was condensed in certain places that will propeller her forwards in response to how she moves, it can also at the same time help her swing with a greater force.

Once that was over Anne-chan got ready to fly towards her prey.

"HiNyaahh!!!!"

While approaching the Cyclops she made a mighty yell. 

The Cyclops was unable to react because of Anne-chan's quick speed.

With a flash of her halberd, she accurately cut deep into the leg of the Cyclops. Then retreating behind it.

"GAAAAAHH!!"

The Cyclops yelled in pain as it's leg was wounded.

With an injury like that, the Cyclops can't move.

After that, we all appeared to attack the Cyclops.

"- – -Haah!"

First my Onee-sama took out her sword.

Right as she unsheathed it, it cut into her hand, letting it drip onto the blade.- – -She slashed her sword as the blood spew into the air.

Using her blood manipulation, the droplets changed into blades.

The blades then flew towards the Cyclops and pierced into it's skin.

However it wasn't done there. The blades lodged into the Cyclops then splintered off.

It was like there were sea urchins all over it's body.

"GAAAAAAhhh!!"

The Cyclops cried out in pain. Blood was starting to drip from him as he was frozen from the pain. However he did not fall. It was not fatal.

Then critical blow was came from Rig.

"- – -Flames, pierce my enemies in a torrent that burns the ground! "Serpent Flare!"

Right when she finished her casting, a torrent of flame columns surrounded and engulfed the cyclops.

"Gyaaaaaahhhhhhh!!"

The scream was drowned out by the crackling of the flame.

What was left was a charred body. With a thump it fell to the ground.

"- – -We did it!"

Rig seemed ecstatic.

"Nyah, I expected more of an impact."

"It had to be an attack that slowed him. If it truly knocked him down and out, then I wouldn't have been able to beat him in one hit."

"But now materials are completely charred."

I said as I pointed to the crisp corpse of the Cyclops.

All we could do now was collect some nails and its horn. However most of it was burnt black.

If I'm honest, the nails were pretty much charcoal at this point, but the horn might sell for some money.

"I-It couldn't be helped. Our new companions don't know how skilled I am. So now they know how much they can rely on me. If we know how strong each other is, a sound victory is a.s.sured."

"Okay we understand now. Rig is very skilled."

"As long as you know that it's fine!" 

With a fl.u.s.tered face, Rig turned away from me.

Her reaction is really cute.

"- – -Wait guys. Be alert. Something is coming."

Suddenly my Onee-sama said that to us as she held up her sword in a preparation.

We took a vigilant stance as we prepared for whatever approaches.

Then large footsteps could be heard getting closer.

Chapter 89: Sudden Disaster.

The atmosphere was tense as we could hear the footsteps getting near to us.

Based on the sound of the footsteps it's probably a Cyclops.

However- – -it sounds like more than one are approaching at the same time.

"Cyclops are usually gentle, they hate to group together and attack. But, I guess. . .We are just having a bad day."

" . . .should we run a nywhay"

"I think that's a good idea."

Anne-chan and Onee-sama agreed.

I'm not sure if we can take out multiple cyclops.

We just started as hunters, it's way too risky.

With that we decided to cheese it.

However – – -it may be too late.

"GYAHHHH!!"

A monstrous scream echoed through the forest.

Then we noticed the five Orcs coming from our exit route.

"c.r.a.p, why did they have to come back now?"

My Onee-sama then prepared her sword and faced them.

"We have to break through them and run."

"Nyah-kay."

My Onee-sama and Anne-chan then rushed to them.

With a single slash, my Onee-sama cut through one of the Orcs body.

Anne-chan also swung down with her halberd taking another Orc by surprise. The Orc was dead as it swung into its head.

But there are still three more.

Rig and I chased those two with Blitz.

The Blitz injured them enough so they couldn't move.

Then my Onee-sama and Anne-chan cut down the last one.

Five Orcs were taken out easily.

"No everybody retre – -"

Onee-sama looked towards us and froze.

Rig and I turned around to find 3 Cyclops standing there.

"GYAAAAAAH!!"

"GYOOOOOH!!"

"OOOOOOH!!"

The Cyclops howled while raising their arms in the air.

"c.r.a.p- – -."

Rig muttered that in a small voice.

I'm not sure if it's still a good idea to run away. Cyclops aren't their arms are pretty long and they can definitely throw some heavy things.

If they close in enough, one hit will do a lot of damage.

Okay I have no choice- – -I'm releasing the seal.

I can't take a chance with these people. I created 3 Ma.s.sive Blitz orbs.

I put as much magical power as I could in each orb.

"- – -Hyaaaaah!!"

I yelled as I flung 3 of the orbs at each Cyclops at a speed as fast as a bullet. The next second each Cyclops had their entire head gone. Loud noises could then be heard behind them, as the bullet went through multiple trees landing into the ground.

It was silent for a second, only to be broken by the sound of their bodies. .h.i.tting the ground.

Then silence once again. My three party members were in complete disbelief.

My Onee-sama was eventually the one to break the ice.

"- – -Haha. . . I see. That's Fari at full power."

My Onee-sama gave a somewhat dry laugh. She then walked towards me and said.

"You saved us Fari. Thank you."

"Well of course I would go all out to help you."

However as I was saying that, I saw Rig.

She was completely shocked. 

I don't know why but I felt this terrible pang. Like I just did something awful.

I hate this feeling.

Hi. Sorry for the delays, I actually finished these 3 long chapters(compared to others) like 3/4 days ago, but then my internet went down ? . . .But it's back now ? 

Thanks to the lack of internet I couldn't translate anything, but I could just edit this chapter. So I did take a bit more attention to this chapter. Adding and removing details and sentences.

First real combat quest. I wonder if it will be the last before some real conflict comes. I do hope a conflict comes, or just an antagonist to move forward the plot. Not a ma.s.sive fan of slice of life in a fantasy world, because there is so much to do in fantasy world. Especially with all the blocks placed in this story. But we'll just have to wait and see.
