The Kpop Otaku's Dream 99 Unresolved

Irene gently consoles Chae-won as if she is a temporary guardian, slowly saying gentle words. Glancing over to Chae-won on her shoulder, the raw agony in her eyes stabs me deeply.

As my gaze held hers, I feel her pain like a physical force. My throat goes dry blocking any attempt to speak.

"Dylan..." She calls for my attention.

"Yes"

Taking a deep gulp, trying to stomp the lump growing in her throat she says, "Do you remember what I said when I told like you?" her voice growing thinner with every word

Nodding my head, I wait for her to continue speaking.

"Since that day... I never thought I deserved to be loved again. no... I didn't want to be loved. I actively pushed it away! I had no one! I needed no one! I'm fine by myself. I'm fine by myself!" She screams as if trying to affirm her belief

"But..." She says "You suddenly appeared, someone much younger than me. Someone who didn't try to be anyone else.... I didn't think much of you at first to be honest. And decided to have drinks because it would be a headache not too... when you protected me.... when you held me.... when you kissed me... for the first time I felt my stone like heart beat... what for? I don't know this stupid thing doesn't want to listen to me! I get jealous. I get happy. I get sad. You do this to me! It's unfair. Why must I care, why must i feel!" She clutches at her clothes

"I know it's shameless Joohyun" She says to Irene, " I know it's wrong of me, to ask for this from you too. I know it's wrong... If someone else were to ask me what I'm asking of you, I would think that person is insane but won't you.... please let me love him"

Irene seems torn, she doesn't want to agree to it and neither would I, if someone were to request me the same in regards to her. I'm pretty much a saesang (obsessive fan) when it comes to her. Should any body harm one hair of Irene's, it would be hard to stop me from ruining their lives.

"Unnie.... I won't tell you not to have feelings for Dylan. I won't even stop you from being able to meet him but ... I don't think I can just let... you ..." Irene says

"Please Joohyun, ... I don't want to replace you... I just want a piece of him. A small corner of his heart is all I want." Chae-won pleas

"Unnie..." Irene tries to form the right words, "I can't..."

Chae-won seeing her final shed of hope shatter can't help but pale, "Why?" She involuntarily asks

Irene hugs her once more and consoles her, "I'm sorry unnie.. I just can't. I'm scared...."

Just as irene is about to give an expedition into what she means. I'm curious too, what is she scared of?

A phone's ring goes off

*Ting Ting*

Groggily I lean to reach it on the counter and turn it off. When I raise the screen to my face, I see the name which forces me to answer.

'I told him to only call when it's urgent'

'I really don't want to leave this unresolved like this but I can't afford not to answer.'

I pickup and greet "Yeah, what you calling me for"

"Aha.... Aha"

"WHAT!!!" I shout as I news that rocks me to the core.

"GO! ACT ON MY BEHALF. STOP IT AS FAST AS YOU CAN"

I turn the call off and look to Irene and Chae-won who are still dazed by my crazed epression. I don't really have the time to explain to them as I struggle to get up. Feeling the st.i.tches on my ribs slightly loosen from the sudden movement. I ignore the pain and try to stand.

I grimace and nearly lose my balance as I steady myself. Irene rushes to my side and with all her might supports me.

"Dylan... what's the matter" She asks concernedly

"Baechu.... don't ask questions for now... just help me okay. just help."

She nods and proceeds to a.s.sist me getting dressed, while at the same Chae-won wipes tears from her eyes and offers to help too

"Chae-won can you get the car"

She hurries downstairs, her eyes still bloodshot.

Eventually we make it to the parking lot and pull out. Luckily we avoid all the reporters camping outside as they aren't expecting me to leave the hospital bed.

"Dylan... where are we going?" Chae-won asks

Looking towards the open road, I turn to her and finally tell her our destination.

"....S group.... and hurry!"
