She wants to have a chat with Ha Eun but decides to do that when Ha Eun isn't so surrounded. Ha Eun noticed Mi Jin staring at her, an expression that showed she noticed her expression which worried her. Mi Jin left the room which made Ha Eun think that Mi Jin wanted to talk to her alone.
Mi Jin headed upstairs to Chang Wook's room. It had been years since she last came in here. It looked exactly the same. The action figures on his desk, the books on his bookcase, the bed had the same astrounat covers, like a little kid.
She started to reminisce about the good old days and pulled open one of the drawers in his desk. She was surprised to see an envelope addressed to her. The envelope seemed a bit old, so she wondered how long this has been here.
Since its addressed to her she didn't see the harm in opening it but when she did, her eyes started to tear up. She sat on the bed and with both hands she held the letter over her chest.
"You loved me too" she whispered. She had the sudden urge to talk to Wook but a part of her thought that she shouldn't. She blamed herself for loving two boys and she still blamed herself now. If she brought this letter to Wook, his thoughts would surely go straight to Hyuk Jae.
They might have liked each other back then but that was in the past; this was the present. Mi Jin stood up and as she was about to put the letter back where she found it Ha Eun walked into the room.
She noticed tears in Mi Jin's eyes so the only thing she could deduct was that she was leaving a letter for Chang Wook to find. She got worried thinking that Mi Jin was asking to get back together with him so Ha Eun walked straight towards her and took the letter from her hands.
Mi Jin worried that Ha Eun would overreact so as she read Mi Jin said "That was written years ago, when we were still kids and we never dated so it doesn't mean anything"
Ha Eun didn't believe Mi Jin when she said it didn't men anything. She wouldn't be crying if it didn't. As Ha Eun finished reading the letter, her heart ached. She had no idea Chang Wook could write such a letter.
"He liked me, but nothing ever happened" Mi Jin said. Ha Eun looked down. She believed Mi Jin's words, but she felt that for some reason she had lost to her.
"Why did you want to talk to me about?" Ha Eun asked her. It worried her that Mi Jin would talk about the wedding and want Ha Eun to call it off. Ha Eun's head hurt at the thought of this. She wants to marry Chang Wook, but she also doesn't want to. Her feelings are all over the place that she can't even think straight.
Ha Eun looked down, this was the first time she felt ashamed of herself.
"Why don't you want to marry Chang Wook?" Mi Jin asked her. Ha Eun widened her eyes and stared Mi Jin straight in the eyes. How could this girl see right through her when even Chang Wook's family and friends couldn't?
Ha Eun wondered if she should tell the truth but this was Mi Jin and you can't trust anyone in this world, especially because of social media. She might say she won't tell anyone, but she could get drunk like last time and talk about this incident to someone and that person could post it online and she and Chang Wook would be ruined.
"What makes you think I don't want to marry my fiancée?" Ha Eun asked her with a serious expression. Mi Jin noticed how Ha Eun closed herself off. She's worked with kids a long time to know why they do it.
Ha Eun could either feels threatened by her, scared of her or maybe even both. Whatever the reason is that Ha En doesn't want to marry Chang Wook, she's definitely not going to tell her, Mi Jin is certain of that.
"A woman wouldn't have your expression the day of her wedding, especially when she's about to marry the man she loves" Mi Jin said. She tried to keep a calm tone, she didn't want Ha Eun to run away. Ha Eun though, noticed what Mi Jin was trying to do. She wanted information from her.
Ha Eun scoffed "Just because I made an unpleasant face makes you think that I don't want to marry my fiancée? That's a bit of a stretch" Mi Jin looked at her with a serious expression also "What, do you want Chang Wook for yourself that badly?" Ha Eun was looking at Mi Jin with a smug look on her face.
Mi Jin couldn't act that she didn't feel hurt by her comment. She would never take someone else's partner just because she wants them. She wouldn't take Chang Wook from Ha Eun, she's not that type of person and besides, if she was, she knew better than anyone that Chang Wook wouldn't accept her and if she was Chang Wook, she wouldn't accept Wook either.
Mi Jin looked down, putting her hands into fists "Some people are meant to fall in love with each other" Mi Jin said, "Just not meant to be together" She looked at Ha Eun. Ha Eun looked at her confused.
"Wook and I liked each other when we were young but after Hyuk Jae's death, we could never accept each other! Call it what you will, maybe shame or fear, but we will never see each other like that, ever again!" Mi Jin had an angry expression on her face, tears going down her eyes.
Ha Eun looked away. Mi Jin went on to explain what happened between her and Chang Wook when they were kids and about their friend Hyuk Jae. Ha Eun's heart once again ached. Seeing someone die, right in front of your eyes, someone you cared about. Chang Wook never told her about it.
Now that she thougth about it. For the past few years that he's worked for her, he would always ask her for the same day off, every year. She wanted to hit herself for not knowing but how could she, for the past few years she only ever thought about herself and the company, she never once took Chang Wook's feelings into consideration.
"I'm not telling you to call off the wedding with Chang Wook, I actually want you two to get married but marriage, that's a full-time job. Chang Wook will be with you every day, from morning to night, in every birthday party, in every Christmas morning and New Year's Day, he will be there. You will have the worst arguments with him, but you will also share the best days of your life with him too"
Mi Jin gave a warm smile to Ha Eun. Ha Eun on the other hand didn't know how to answer so she showed her a slight grin. Mi Jin walked past Ha Eun towards the door.
"Whatever decision you make, just make sure to talk to Wook about it" Mi Jin leaves the room and smiles to herself. Although she didn't know Ha Eun that well, she thought that they could be friends if Ha Eun wanted that.
Ha Eun sat on the bed and looked down at the letter. Suddenly a drop of water fell on it, then another and another. She realized she was crying.
"Oh no, my make-up, my make-up" she worried that Do Mi and Soo Ryun would question her once they see her face, so she tried to fix her make-up on her own. As she looked at herself in the mirror she told herself "You are not a crybaby, pull yourself together"
When was the last time she cried? She didn't remember. When she left the bathroom, she headed downstairs and saw all the women were waiting for her.
"It's almost time" Do Mi said "Let's go"
Ha Eun wondered how Chang Wook was doing on his end.
