Zylvia watched as Dev took over taking care of Fayre. He quickly a.s.sured them that she would survive this. The next words he said though made her worried incessantly.

"There is a high chance that the child won't make it though..."

Jayesh glared at the bound a.s.sa.s.sin. It was obvious that he did not take that news well, his face contorted with anger. "Can someone please take this eyesore to the dungeon? I will deal with her later."

The guardsman who had fetched the priest stepped forward and took her off of their hands. Zylvia could understand why Jayesh would not want to deal with her immediately.

She looked at her friend feeling worried. the thought of losing a child was a heavy one, an idea no woman wanted to even entertain. Zylvia felt something touch her elbow and glanced back to see her husband kneeling beside of her. As she glanced back away, she felt one of arms encircle her waist, providing a small amount of comfort.

"Is there anything that can be done?" Jayesh spoke quietly.

Dev hesitated, "Yes...there is one way I know of, but..."

"What is it?" The look in Jayesh's eyes were filled with determination and desperation.

"Trying to save this child would likely leave her not very fertile, you would not be likely to ever have any more."

Jayesh paused, thought about it a moment, "I think Fayre would prefer to have this child, than lose it in the hopes of getting another."

"Aye," Zylvia whispered, "She already loved the child deeply."

Dev nodded and then layed his hands on the queen's stomach and started to pray. Zylvia watched as all her wounds healed leaving only dried blood, "She will need to rest for a few days. The child should be fine, at least for the most part."

Jayesh wrapped his arms around wife, gently as if he was afraid of hurting her. "What do you mean for the most part?"

"Well, you are not really supposed to use magic on a pregnant woman, but there was no other way to even try to save the kid."

As Jayesh got a worried look on his face, Kaldrek a.s.sured him, "There are exceptions to every rule, and divine magic is far safer than arcane about this sort of thing anyway."

Dev nodded, "Xi'eli directly grants divine magic, I am sure he will not inflict to high a price on the kid."

"Thank you, for your help," Jayesh smiled, "You have eased my mind of some of my worry, as long as she does not do anything dangerous she should be fine, right."

Dev a.s.sured him again before leaving them.

"Can you two help me?" Jayesh looked up at them, "I want to move her to a more comfortable place, but..."

"Of course," Kaldrek was quick to answer him.

After settling the young queen so that she would be comfortable, Kaldrek took her away from there so that she could have peace and quiet. They made Jayesh promise to alert them when she woke up.

"So, she should be fine, right?" Zylvia was worried about whether the child would really be okay.

"Should be."

After what had happened, Zylvia felt drained emotionally, and even somewhat physically. Because of this, she wrapped her arms around her husband's arm and refused to release him. Of course he accepted it, and held her both giving and receiving comfort.

He had gone to the library while waiting. But he did not really start reading. Instead he just sat down, and pulled her into his arms. He buried his noise in the crook of her neck, as if he was searching for comfort.

She gently wrapped her arms around him and they just sat there for a while. Neither one of them seemed to feel inclined to move. They were like this when they were finally alerted to Fayre having woken up.
