THE CEO's LOVE 105 Quick Reflexes

Ruqin's eyes flashed with panic and then anger.

They attacked their village just when she was unguarded. "Bástárds!" Ruqin swore. They didn't have enough guts to come during the day.

They heard heavy footsteps headed towards them, and Ruqin immediately pulled the sword under her bed. Pushed the handmaiden to stand behind the door. She hid the sword perfectly behind, standing there tall.

The door that had been locked was now pushed open from the outside after much struggle. Two men in black stood there, they were totally covered in black clothing. And mask to hide their faces.

When they saw it was just a young girl of twenty years old they heaved and shrugged.

"What a beauty," the first man said.

"Sure, she is." The other leered. "What do we do?"

"We better take her to the master first. Or might end up in trouble." The first said.

They took light steps towards the simple weak and unarmed girl.

The first one tried to grab Ruqin and she advanced back. He took another step forward and she took another backward.

"Oi, what are you doing little miss?" The man said, a light smile appeared on his eyes. There was glint. "I don't want to harm you. Stop being so hard."

"Try again." Ruqin muttered.

The second man then tried to grab her. She easily dodged and came face to face with the second man. She gave him a hard blow on his nose and the man stumbled back.

The first man mouth dropped. "Oh, you're not so sweet as I thought."

He yanked Ruqin from behind, grabbing her hair but she made no sound and it made it easy for her to lift him from his arm, dropping him hard on the wooden floor.

She twisted his arm and it made a crack sound.

"Ouch!" The man yelled.

The handmaiden peeped from behind the door. Horror-stricken her eyes were bloodshot. Ruqin made eyes contact and she came out from behind the door to run out. But then she seemed to retreat, Ruqin strained her neck and saw another man coming with his sword pointed straight to the handmaiden's stomach.

The handmaiden retreated, making sure not to step on anything.

"Miss, please leave."

The words irritated the man as he raised his sword up, ready to strike but Ruqin was one step ahead as she yanked the handmaiden back and the swords clanged.

"Not so fast as your eyes." Ruqin said with a soft voice. She raised her leg, giving the man a heavy blow on his jaw as a tooth fell out.

With her fast reflexes she moved faster than the man and hit her sword's edge on his head.

The man nodded twice and fell with his face to the floor.

Ruqin heard a wince and turned to see one of the man getting up, she went over immediately and gave him a blow on his neck.

The man screamed out and the handmaiden gagged him with her cloth.

Five seconds later and he was laying unconscious on the floor.

"Let's go," Ruqin grabbed her handmaiden. Using the back door, they got to the house in front of the pond. "Cross over and hide,"

"Miss, come with me." The handmaiden pleaded as tears dropped from her face. "Please."

"I'm right behind you," Ruqin said. "Cross over." She commanded.

The handmaiden crossed while Ruqin kept watch in the bridge. She saw a wooden torch getting close and hid behind a very big flower pot.

She looked towards the training house, the door was wide open. 's.h.i.+t! Why didn't she lock it?'

The torchbearer came close and inspected the surrounding then saw the open doors.

The instant his leg touched the bridge, Ruqin ran out and used her sheathed sword to hit him on the head. He turned to see who it was but received yet another hit. He dropped to his knees, she gave another final blow before sending him into the lake with his torch.

She walked with her back to the training house, when she got close to the door she immediately shut it.

At least they needed one survivor to report to her father when he returned, unknowingly, her father had been captured earlier by the group of bandits.

She looked down at herself and discovered her inner clothing had ripped all the way from her toe up to knee. She couldn't fight more with this and just when she took a step forward, one man in black dropped from the zinc.

He had a scar on his face. He didn't wear a mask so she was able to see it.

He was way taller than the men she had defeated. Tall and bulky, more like a giant.

He flashed her a smile. "You must be the village's miss. Miss Yan Ruqin." The sinister smile on her face made him look like terrible monster.

When he smiled, it made his eyes form crescent moon and turned pure black.

"Come with me and I won't harm you." He outstretched his hand. There was quite a distance. "You're such a beauty in a small village. With your beauty you can marry a general in one of the four kingdoms. Stop wasting away here, princess."

"Try catching me," she flung a blade and when he tried to dodge she used a very narrow road formed on the end to escape.

He immediately ran after her, she was sure a fast runner. He agreed.

He had heard about her little talents. She was good with the swords, blades, needles, legs and even fists.

How did that man teach all these to a girl? Was he preparing her to be an a.s.sa.s.sin? He pondered while still running after her.

"Give up!" He yelled from his side.

"Already tired? Give up." She returned his word right back to him.

He was infuriated. This lake was really big. He almost smiled. And then he saw that the end of the lake wasn't so far. It was carved like gutter. With his long hands he was sure he'd easily grab onto her.

But Ruqin had other plans as she got close to the end first, her foot touched the wall as she held her clothes and then she climbed a rock that had dropped from the mountain.

It had happened too fast that the man couldn't relate. She just disappeared? This little girl will make me suffer from headache.

Meanwhile, Ruqin thought she had gotten away. She had instead run into the lion's den.

There, when she turned around, she was faced with a group of bandits. They stood in line ready to be dispatched. But then she appeared and their eyes widened.

The leader turned and when he saw her, a chuckle escaped his mouth.

Ruqin heart missed a beat. She couldn't fend them all of. They were like hundreds of them.

"What a beauty, it's an honour to see such a rare beauty in the land." He cupped his hand and went on one knee.

The men in black followed suit immediately.

With his head bowed the man smirked. "If you'll give me the honour to escort you," he put out his palm. Then his mouth open, O. "Or you might cut off my precious little hand." He smiled and stood up.

"Follow us and no one gets hurt."

Ruqin smirked. "A little bit play to keep the excitement going."

And it made the troops laugh. They laugh so loud that it echoed in her head.

"Sure, Miss. I wouldn't want to disrespect a lady of n.o.ble birth." He cupped his hands and bowed.

Ruqin unsheathed her sword and pointed straight to the ground. Then used her left hand to beckon the man.

He chuckled out. "I'm Master Su, miss... My lady would be more proper."

Ruqin had no breath to waste. She just couldn't surrender that easily.

The man twirled his sword and charged forward, heading straight for Ruqin's throat. Ruqin easily dodged with her knee touching the lush gra.s.s, she was now in front of the troops while the man ended up at her spot earlier.

"Aye, you're that good." The man spat out. "Only at dodging, I guess." He charged forward again, Ruqin moved not to have her back facing her enemy.

The man's face contorted in anger. "Are we having a child's play?"

"A little bit of play... Already tired?" Her swift answer made the man blink twice.

"Come over, just don't get hurt." He charged forward again.

The two swords clanged and Ruqin moved back a bit. She raised her right foot and kicked the man's ribcage. No one had seen that coming, she didn't even know it was that hard until she heard a crack sound.

The man's eyes popped with shock. He hissed and used his leg to try to sweep her off. Ruqin must have an A as she jumped, standing face to face with him. She gave him a good headb.u.t.t and the man staggered back.

Gasps rang out from the troops mouth.

That was their master, the little girl was toying with.

The world seemed to spin as the man bowed and clutched his forehead.

"What the f*ck? What are you made of? Iron?"

She winked at him. "Guessed right! You love the taste?"

"Stop being so hard, we're so many. You can't escape us."

"That sure?" She immediately regretted her words when the troop came rounding her.

"Good. You put up a good fight. Now let's go my Lady." Once he finished, two strong hands put their weights on Ruqin's shoulders as her hands were immediately tied with a black rope.

They dragged her out and climbed down the mountain and went to the square. Usually used to for entertainment in the village.

There everyone was gathered. When the villagers saw their miss they panicked. They had all thought she escaped.

Ruqin was dragged to the middle.

"This young woman is only twenty years old, but yet, so strong. I like her." Master Su announced. "So young," he clicked his tongue. "Very young."

Fire was made as they decided to pa.s.s the night and leave at dawn.

"Cut," the director said. "Good, good. That was a good one." He praised and everyone smiled.

Xiujun now had a blazer on him and cashmere to prevent the cold. He was freezing but wouldn't leave, he wanted to make Xueyan was safe.

He immediately ran over to where she was tied, loosed the rope and draped another blazer over her shoulders. He took her two hands and blew into them, then rubbed it together.

"I'm not that cold," she pouted.

Xiujun smiled. "You have a swirl of smoke coming out of your mouth." He teased.

Xueyan chuckled. "The stunt girl did all the work. Give her the blazer instead."

Xiujun fervently shook his head. "No way!"

Mei Han ran forward with another blazer and a duvet. "Give the blazer to the stunt girl." Xueyan said.

Mei Han bowed and went to do just that.

"Say thank you to the miss," the stunt girl said.
