THE CEO's LOVE 135 Guardian Angel

They arrived at the big toy store, Qingran gasped. "This is magnificent!"

Xueyan was surprised, "What do you know magnificent means?"

"Something marvelous," Qingran didn't take her eyes off toys as she replied.

"And that calls for another question," Yuxi giggled.

"Mummy, look over there. That's Tigger and Pooh teddy bear," she ran over and picked the two up, searching for Darby. "Mummy where's Darby?"

The store wasn't crowded today because it was still week day. 

Xueyan looked around. "I think Darby's finished," she scratched her head.

Qingran pouted then smiled. "Mummy, do I get to choose anything?"

"Yes, anything!"

"Woah!" Qingran was over the moon. She threw the things in her hand into the trolley. Then ran over to Mickey's basket and picked Minnie. "She's so beautiful,"

Xueyan picked up Daisy, "And she?" She swinger it left and right as Qingran tried to reach for it.

Qingran satisfied laugh made Xueyan heart melt. 

They stayed longer at the Disney store before moving to other stores. She picked Tom and Jerry and asked. "Which is trickier?"

The question made them laugh. "Jerry," Mei Han answered.

"You must be a cartoon lover, very good." And she threw it into the trolley but was still clutching onto Minnie.

Twenty minutes later, Xueyan had foot the bill and now they were seated around a table in a local restaurant.

Mei Han ordered for barbeque fish, Yuxi ordered for squab, century egg, beef noodles and dumplings.

"Aunty Yuxi, what type of combo is this?" Qingran inquired with utmost interest. She supported her jaw with her hand.

"My favorite combo," Yuxi grinned.

"Hmm," Qingran shrugged. "I want mixed pudding, and dumplings too."

Xueyan ordered crayfishes for herself and her daughter. Then tofu and rice. 

At the other table, the driver also placed his order as Xueyan had forced him to follow them.

After taking the orders the waiter left to get the food done.

They are till they were satisfied.

It was five pm already when they got home. Xueyan was stuck in between calling Zhaolin and apologizing or meeting him in person.

She later made up her mind and dialled his number, it only took the first ring for it to connect.

"Zhaolin," she didn't even know what to say. "Where, where are you?"

"At the office," she heard the sound of television and wondered if he was in a meeting. 

"If you're busy, I would call later "

"No, no. I'm not."

"..." She then listened closely. Maybe he's truly not...

"How did your day go?" He asked.

"Fine, I took Qingran out. We just got home."

"Oh," 

"Daddy, come over here! You need to be flogged again." She heard someone say from his side.

"I can play with you," the voice didn't belong to Zhaolin. And it sounded more feminine. The first person must have been his son...

So he's with his family, in the office?

"We will talk later," without waiting for a reply, she hung up. She turned around and came face to face with her father.

"What are you doing down here?" He asked frowning a bit.

Xueyan smiled. "Nothing much,"

He nodded, "I had gone out to receive fresh air, the weather is extra cool today."

"Oh that's nice," she held him on the shoulder as they entered the elevator.

When the phone on his ear made three beep sound he frowned. She just hung up?

"Zhi, let's play when we get home." He suggested. He still had a lot of files that needed to be attended to.

Xiangyang had left after much pursuasion from Songyan. He was surprised, that Xiangyang never seems to notice the efforts Songyan made. Is he really that blind?

"I can play with you, if you wish." s.h.i.+ya suggested and watched Zhihao shook his head.

"I'll play with dad when we get home." He dropped the game pad and went to his father's side.

She observed the two. When will this two men let her into their hearts? Just how long more with it take?

Zhiyang entered the office, picking up the already signed doc.u.ments. At the same time dropping more on the table.

"Dad, do you need help with any of these?" Zhihao picked up the already signed doc.u.ment. "I can help,"

His statement brought a smile to Zhaolin's face. "You don't even know anything about it."

"You can teach me," he suggested.

"Little master, if you want, during the holidays you can come to the company... I'll be willing to teach you," Zhiyang hurriedly offered.

"Really?" Zhihao grinned. "Not a bad idea, but sadly I'll be going on a vacation with dad."

The information surprised the three older people in the room.

Zhaolin was the first to react, "Ah'zhi?"

"Yes dad. I've decided you will be coming with me." He shrugged. "You have been working alot! You've to go with me and Grandpa will take over when you're away," he folded his hands like it was his final decision, giving no room for disagreement.

The information hit s.h.i.+ya hard. They were planning a vacation?

Author: Geez, didn't you see Zhaolin was surprised himself? Was your brain produced in a factory?

"Zhi, where are you going during the holiday?" She asked.

"Hawaii,"

"That far?" She was appalled.

"It's not." He frowned. "Besides I'm going with daddy."

Zhaolin didn't bother arguing with the little guy again and continued signing the files.

"Sir, don't worry. I'll take care of the company in your absence," Zhiyang a.s.sured Zhaolin.

"You must be dumb to think I'm abandoning the company for a vacation,"

"You sure will!" Zhihao hit the table. "I'm your son... You care about the company more than you care for me."

Zhaolin chuckled. "Silly boy,"

"I'm not silly!" Zhihao refuted.

"Don't worry Zhi, I'll go with you." s.h.i.+ya offered.

He didn't even turn to look at her before rejecting bluntly. "No!"

s.h.i.+ya felt cold water drench her... Their att.i.tude towards her was taking a drastic turn... "Since your daddy will be busy, I can come with you." She tried cajoling but it wasn't working.

"No!" The word hit her again.

 Zhaolin wasn't even paying attention to them or more like he didn't mind. Zhihao could reject her a thousand times and Zhaolin wouldn't mind. She nodded in understanding. "Okay,"

At the lobby, Zhaolin carried his sleeping son as Riuwen went to drive the car out. The floor was almost empty except for the few workers exiting the building.

s.h.i.+ya looked at her wrist.w.a.tch, it was seven minutes past six.

The car arrived, they hopped in and it revved away.

Zhaolin helped Zhihao change into his pajamas before tucking the boy into bed. He straightened ready to leave and the little boy stirred. "Dad, mom... Daddy, mommy... Mommy,"

Zhaolin's eyes couldn't conceal the shock that went through him. Does Zhihao have nightmares? It was not even late yet... He shook the boy awake.

Zhihao wasn't panting though, "Ugh!" He stretched and yawned. "Why did you wake me up?" He brows was wrinkled strongly. "I was having a sweet dream. I saw mummy,"

Zhaolin held the little boy, "What do you mean by that?"

"I have been seeing mummy in my dream lately, anytime I close my eyes, I see her face close to mine, she would be giggling and calling out to me... But her face is never clear..."

"What‽" Zhaolin was still shocked. "For how long have you been seeing her?"

"You mean my mummy? Since a year ago." He yawned again. "Mother also says, she's my guardian angel... And will forever protect me."

A cold s.h.i.+ver ran down his spine. He has nightmares, meanwhile his son experience the opposite of it. "What else did she say?"

"That she loves me alot!" He grinned tiredly.

Truth be told, he had adopted Zhihao when he was just a month old... He knew nothing about his parents and he never bothered digging around... Does this mean, his mother will still come back to claim him? A terrifying thought, he didn't wish to dwell on. No way! n.o.body, absolutely n.o.body will be able to take Zhihao away... But... What if Zhihao decides to follow his mother?

Zhaolin heart started beating at a higher level... He felt his heart shatter. No, no way!

The thought have never for once crossed his mind... And he prayed in his heart that it would never happen.

By the time he recovered from his crazy thoughts, Zhihao was fast asleep again. He used the comforter to wrap in him up before heading to his own room.

He showered and went to bed, his nightmare happened again. This time he could tell clearly that it was a girls voice. The girl kept screaming for a stop, he didn't even know if he was the one the words were directed to but the girl didn't stop pleading... And he? What was he doing? He tried opening his eyes in the dream but it wouldn't.

It was like his eyes had been screwed shut!

Then after some time, he felt someone coming towards them, with heavy steps. "Zhaolin, what did you do‽" He could hear the shock in the person's voice...

"Zhaolin, Zhaolin, Zhaolin!"
