Mei Han quickly pa.s.sed her a bottle of water. Which Xueyan drank like it was her last! The sun had dried her throat up.

Fangxi came over to where they were standing and stretched out her hand. "Give me one too,"

Mei Han pressed her lips together, picked one and gave it to her. Fangxi was stunned but took it nonetheless.

She didn't even say thank you, just drank it and pushed the remaining to Mei Han and walked off.

"So arrogant, not even a thank you." Mei Han grunted.

"Thank you, and thanks on behalf of Fangxi." Xueyan said then went back to stand in the middle of the field. By her side was the stunt girl. The girl performed almost all the hard part, she could lift the sword with ease.

The scene would be of Ruqin easily defeating the other contestants easily, with her swift and sharp moving. Aiming for their weak points.

Though defeating the soldier of the Wei kingdom had taken longer than expected, she owned the last glory.

It was two in the afternoon when the scene was completed. Xiujun ordered a take out of everybody's favourite.

When the food arrived, a young delivery boy was ahead of them. When he got to the employees area he asked for Xueyan, and they directed him.

"Ma'am, these are for you." He dropped the paper bags on a table beside her, dipped his hand into his trouser pocket and brought out a little envelope. "This too,"

She accepted it and thanked him before he walked off.

Part of her felt that it would only come from one person, and it was confirmed when she opened the little envelope.

Mei Han had just come out from checking the custume when he saw the delivery boy leaving, she came forward to ask but caught Xueyan smiling down at a tiny envelope. She kept still and watched her open it.

The content made her eyes pop.

Xueyan chuckled. What was wrong with him?

"Is that your boyfriend?" Mei Han sudden question startled the unprepared Xueyan.

"What are you doing behind my back?"

"Uhm, I was going to ask who the delivery boy was but got interested in what you had in hand so I joined you in reading it."

"You read it?" Xueyan mouth hung open.

"Yes. By the way, who is he? He sent a whole two pack and said no sharing, does he want to overfeed you?"

Xueyan chuckled. "It's okay, we can share. But no reading of my messages again!"

"Pinky promise," Mei Han happily grabbed one of the back. She screamed when she opened it, "A pack of snacks? Is that meant to be your lunch? Oh, he might be right... You need to eat light food."

Xueyan opened the second pack and the aroma wafted into her nostril. The first plate, contained a large crab and lemon.

"Woah! He's sweet! Xueyan do you like crabs?"

Xueyan nodded. "Yes,"

Mei Han then frowned. "He got you crab and then snacks,"

"No, there's also rice, soup and pork. We could share."

The news excited Mei Han but then she rejected it. "This is the reason he had said no sharing. It was for you only. That rice wouldn't even be enough for me alone." Mei Han was saddened. "You have such a sweet family and also a very sweet lov...hmm," 

Xueyan covered her mouth. "He's not my lover!"

"But, it feels like it. Or, is a dangerous guy into you?"

Xueyan gasped. "What in the world?"

"I don't think so, I had seen you smiling. His parents doesn't like you, right?"

Xueyan shook her head. "Stop forming things in your head."

"That's it! They don't like you, just steal him and run away. No one would be able to cut short your happiness then!" She smirked at the thought of that. "If I ever love a man and he loves me just the same but his family doesn't want me because I'm an orphan. I will take their son far away from them!" She hit her balled fist into her open hand. 

Xueyan chuckled. "I pray his family likes you just the same."

"Thank you," Mei Han smiled. "Now tell me, his family is against you two?"

Xueyan sighed. "Listen, I don't have a lover, nor do I have a family that is against me being with their son."

"Oh, that's great then!"

"What are you two talking about?" The person was none other than Xiujun, he took his hand up to show Xueyan the lunch pack in his hand, a smile attached to his face.

Now Xueyan felt bad, Xiujun had ordered takeouts for everyone. "Uhm..."

"We will have it." Mei Han grabbed the pack from him, s.h.i.+fting to block him from seeing the table behind them.

"You should eat up, the scene is almost complete." Xiujun then walked off.

"Eat that and I'll eat this," Mei Han said then started unpacking the lunch pack.

Xueyan took out her phone to message him. u003cThank you, and it's okay whether you deliver it or not.u003e

As soon as the message was sent out, it didn't take two seconds for his to return to her, it was a heart emoji.

Xueyan heart thumped at the sight of it. This is it! We're officially flirting! The thought of it made her chuckle. Remembering that Mei Han was around she stopped herself and went to eat.

With a scarf covering half of her face, Xueyan went back to the field and pulled it off when the director signalled at her.

"Take off your mask!" The emperor commanded.

With well practiced ease, Ruqin took of the mask and her hair came tumbling down.

Emperor Chang would be lying if he said her beauty didn't surprise him. Even though she was standing a bit far from him. She was one skilled woman he never thought he'd find in this life. Without unsheathing her sword she had knocked her enemies into an unconscious state.

Wow! He could hear the men whistle. See the necks stretch to get a better view of her... No! No one was allowed to!

"Put your mask back on!" He commanded.

Ruqin smirked. "What is this? A child's play?" He told her to take off her mask to examine her face?

He didn't even mind her arrogance and watched her smirk. It made her look dangerously beautiful.

Ruqin put her mask back on and strode forward to receive the reward. Two large chests were placed before her. Telling her to choose any of it. In between the chests was a white paper, that hadn't been stained by ink and a quill.

"Your majesty, thank you but I'd want none of these gifts!" 

Her sudden statement made the spectators jump from their seats. Who dares reject the emperor's gift?

"I knew it! This wench has no manner!" Wei Ying screamed from the throne shade, this young lady annoyed her! How can a young lady like her be this proud?

"Miss Yan, sorry but you must take one of them!" Master Su said, smiling at her.

Ruqin eyes focused on the person beside the master, her father... He looked extra thin. With eyebags. Even being covered in that big clothing, she could see the big change. What did they do to her father? Just what? She wouldn't spare any of them! She plucked her sword from the sand and headed to the throne shade.

Her eyes were bringing out fire, her jaws were clenched tight. The aura emitting from her was extra dangerous and smelled like someone craving for blood!

Now everyone else was invisible to her, she had her eyes on her father and her master. The only way to save her father from that evil man would be to kill him first.

He deserved nothing else but death! Death and death again.

She didn't even know when she climbed the long stairs and didn't even hear the soldiers coming from behind to capture her.

She unsheathed her sword and threw the covering away. It was then that master Su realized something was wrong! He should have never given that sword back to her! Never!

"Protect his majesty!" He screamed.

She saw his mouth move but didn't hear what it was. She got closer and until she was a step away from the man, she took out a needle from her waist belt and sent it flying towards the man!

Master Su dodged it as he bent immediately, Ruqin wasn't stopping either. She took out a pack this time and flew it his way. Before he could dodge for the second time, she flew into the air and kicked his leg.

The man staggered a bit and steadied himself.

She quickly put her old man behind her.
