"We can all agree that Tommy's poor cultivation saved us, but our clan still lost face because of Tommy's poor cultivation. Not a single person in the city would doubt our clan's strength, but having someone like Tommy around may be disastrous at time goes on." the Patriarch replied after noticing the change of atmosphere in the room.

It was true that even the elders of the clan were angered by Tommy on a regular basis. With so many youths even younger than Tommy who showed more potential than he did, Tommy still received unlimited resources and lived like a king.

Though not a single person in the Sacred Flame clan would revolt against the Patriarch due to him being the second strongest cultivator within the whole city, everyone constantly prayed to the heavens that one day, the Patriarch's eyes would open up more about his nephew, Tommy.

"I understand that I have given Tommy countless resources that could have been used to help advance others in his generation. As a Patriarch, I feel that I have failed you all as well as the rest of the clan. Although there is no way to take back anything which was given to Tommy, I still think there is hope." the Patriarch continued speaking with his oppressive aura unleashed.

Before this meeting with the clan's elders, the Patriarch met with Tommy's parents to discuss what the meeting would entail. He explained to them that Tommy's life would without a doubt be spared, however, something would need to be done in order to please the rest of the clan.

The Patriarch understood that although he was currently the strongest cultivator in the five great clans of the city, that the empire's guest who remained in the city to keep a close watch was by far much stronger.

There was no telling if the mysterious expert would remain neutral in the case of internal strife among the clans, but if the Sacred Flame clan p.i.s.sed off enough people, that the expert would have no choice but to act accordingly.

For many centuries now, the Sacred Flame clan had been the strongest existence in this city, and the Patriarch's duty was to make sure that the clan would continue to blossom and become stronger over time.

"That being said, I have come up with a plan to deal with Tommy accordingly, would you all like to hear it?" the Patriarch asked as he locked eyes with Tommy's father. Truth be told, there was only one way to make the whole clan happy when it came to Tommy and the Patriarch was willing to use his influence to make it happen.

Hearing the Patriarch speaking in such a manner, all of the clan's elders in the room nodded their heads as they gestured their leader to continue explaining himself.

"I want to use Tommy as a negotiating tool with the Flying Spear clan. I think that if we were to have him marry one of their clansmen no matter how lowly they are, it would help heal some of the past wounds between our clans."

"If Tommy could be used as a p.a.w.n in this circ.u.mstance, then we would be putting the Flying Spear clan in a very tough spot. We all know that we could crush that little alliance that they have with the Soaring Wind clan without the help of anyone else."

"Soon those two clans will have their own power struggle among each other and if we could slowly but surely bring the Flying Spear clan closer to us, we could influence them to cut ties with the Soaring Wind clan and to join our side."

"Of course, we would need to give the Flying Spear clan more than just Tommy himself since he is not someone who would bring much value to their clan, but I am willing to do this so that Tommy could move to their clan, and so that we will have more time to concentrate on more pressing matters." the Patriarch said as everyone in the room nodded their heads in agreement.
