Entering from the underground pa.s.sage, Steve found many magical beasts' corpses lying on the ground. They had all been killed by Stewart and Sophia.

As they went deeper into the pa.s.sage, magical beasts with more than a 40% level of cell activation could be seen. Had he seen them a few days ago, Steve would have been happy to harvest their meat. However, his current level of cell activation was only at 30%, so the meat from magical beasts would not benefit him much.

After Steve took seven or eight turns, a large, wide-opened iron door appeared in front of him. There were sword marks on the iron gate, indicating that the gate had been cut open by a sword. Scuffles could be heard from inside.

Steve leaned against the wall and peered beyond the iron gate, seeing a huge laboratory. Inside the lab, he saw numerous nutrition capsules, with many magical beasts and humans trapped inside each.

Some of the nutrition capsules were broken, and all kinds of mutated magical beasts sprang out from them, roaring at Sophia and Stuart.

Sophia and Stewart destroyed the equipment in the laboratory. It was quite difficult for them, fighting off the mutated magical beasts while looking for a way out to the next level.

These beasts were more powerful than any other magical beasts that they had encountered thus far, as these were elite magical beasts, which had a cell activation of more than 50%!

When the level of cell activation reached more than 50%, a flyby would occur, and the benefits of the magical beasts' meat would also increase. These magical beasts' meat even had a huge effect on Steve, who, while Sophia and Stewart were being held back by the elite magical beasts, secretly harvested some of it.

"Elite magical beasts' meat can sell for a lot of money, so it can bring great benefits, even if I cannot eat it all by myself," said Steve, who had been through poverty before, resulting in his becoming quite frugal.

Stewart linked his smart watch to the laboratory base's optical computer in an attempt to hack into the system. The big screen displayed progress of the data retrieval.

The demon guards were perturbed. They drove the magical beasts to launch an attack, then joined in the attack themselves.

"Stop them from hacking into the data."

"The plan of Lord Collic is not allowed to fail!"

More than 10 elite magical beasts roared collectively. A few of them possessed cell activity of more than 60%, so even with their combined strength, Stewart and Sophia struggled to deal with them.

However, the two of them did manage to guard the optical computer. The retrieval progress had now reached 80% meaning that the process would be completed in a little while.

Steve was still busy harvesting the magical beasts' meat. At the same time, The Heart of the universe was downloading information from the laboratory's system.

"The Heart of the universe starts scanning ... a.n.a.lyzing data ... downloading data ... data download successful!''

It did not take long for the The Heart of the universe to a.n.a.lyze the entire laboratory's base. In Steve's mind, a three-dimensional pattern was formed.

The base was divided into two levels. The upper level was used to research magical beasts, cells of demons and humans, blood, genes and so on. The lower level was an isolated s.p.a.ce, with a huge loophole that was linked to the upper level.

All research results from the upper level would be extracted and injected into a container. Data cables were plugged into the container, and there was an optical computer sitting next to it, capable of performing high-speed calculations.

There was also a syringe below the container. After a while, a small drop of liquid would drip into the gla.s.s bottle. Steve seemed to have a view of G.o.d, enabling him to observe everything but living creatures.

"What is this ability?" Steve wondered aloud, amazed by his own skills.

In fact, the more that the Heart of the universal developed its functions, the more surprised Steve became.

If models of living creatures can also be built, wouldn't it be possible to spot any ambushes or traps in advance?

"Drip drip drip ... The heart of the universe lacked energy, and temporarily was unable to build a model of living creatures on a large scale..." A voice within Steve's mind informed him.

Steve was in awe. Unexpectedly, what he had thought earlier could now actually be done! It was a huge surprise to him.

This function would be a great help in exploring the unknown. Now, he'd be able to know in advance what lay inside, whether there were living things, and what dangers were hidden and so on.

This information could greatly increase the chances of survival and even save many people's lives! However, Steve did not have time to consider all of these benefits now, as he wanted to enter the lower level ahead of Sophia and Stewart.

The things inside the container were the real treasures. In fact, it required the nutrients from hundreds of kinds of magical beasts, demons, and humans from the upper level in order to extract this mysterious liquid. Hence, such a liquid must be very important!

Steve gave up harvesting the meat of the elite magical beasts and went in the opposite direction of Sophia and Stewart. According to the model from The Heart of the universe, the pa.s.sage to the lower level was located right behind a nutrition capsule.

Sophia and Stewart were not aware of Steve, who had quietly slipped in.

The Heart of the universe was broken into, and the nutrition capsule automatically s.h.i.+fted to the left, revealing a pa.s.sageway that led to the lower level. Steve quickly jumped in and walked down a dark flight of stairs. Suddenly, there was a ray of light in front of him.

"Second level... and that treasure!" Steve exclaimed, as he looked at the vast s.p.a.ce, his gaze quickly attracted to the container in its center.

There was a mysteriously colored egg, coated in green liquid, inside the container. This seven-colored egg, which was the size of a chicken egg, was absorbing nutrients, while colored liquid dripped down from it. Approximately 100 ml. of colored liquid had been collected in the gla.s.s bottle below the container.

"What is that thing?" Steve marveled aloud.

"Data acquired, a.n.a.lyzing… Energy egg... An unknown species is being bred. Function: Automatically absorbs cosmic energy and condenses into liquid. Reminder: Energy liquids extracted from energy egg have a great effect."

Steve saw and heard the data a.n.a.lyzed by The Heart of the universe. Except for its providing a simple introduction, it was not of much use to him. Even the species of this energy egg was not revealed.

"Forget it, just take it first. Even Demon Collic deemed it as important, so it should not be an ordinary item," Steve commented, as he walked over slowly.

Demon Collic was a level-one demon, a truly evolved being, who was far more powerful than the others. He could even crush others to death with just one of his fingers! So, if he regarded it as a treasure, this thing must really be important!

"Warning! Warning! Danger! Danger! There are dangerous creatures up ahead, so please evacuate quickly!"

Just as Steve had moved closer, the Heart of the universe suddenly sounded an alarm. The level of danger for this alarm was even higher than that of Steve's, when he was battling the Blackfrost wolf!

Obviously, this made Steve feel incredibly tense!
