She was angry I hadn't insisted she'd return with Faye and Dawn.
I knew she was, because even if she was confident she still shook like a leaf in a tornado.
"Someone's here. I feel them watching." Nava says quietly, glancing away around her when Khole nodded in agreement and scanned the five of us with curious glances than the ground around her.
Everyone else seemed on alert and not watching her as Khole was over to the tree on the side and brought her finger to her lips. I watched her pierced her finger before scribbling something on the ground before moving away and going to another tree that was directly across the other tree.
She repeated this process another two times until backing away from her handy work and closing her eyes. She spoke some soft words under her breath before a flash came from her hands, the blood marking she wrote into the ground flas.h.i.+ng for a moment before disappearing.
"I feel them coming, stay alert-"
Something went through Khole before she screamed and thumped on the ground, hard. I lunged towards her and cradled her close to my chest as snickers and laughter sounded from behind all of us.
"Same as always. Surprised to see you're on their side, Dylan. Navalina. Nice to see you again." The familiar voice from earlier was no other than Andrew just as Khole mentioned earlier. I snapped my angry gaze at him and his red-eyed companion, seeing him toss a remote in his hands.
"What did you do to her?!" I roar, holding her face as her limp body slumped further into mine. I should have demanded she left with Faye and Dawn.
Never will I remake that mistake.
"Oh come on now. You out of all people should know I implant a chip in every one of my slaves." He snickers, tossing another remote and skimming his gaze to Navalina. "You know this as well." Before either of realized what happened, Nava screams in pure agony and dropped to the ground in a pit of pain. Levi snarls at him, grabbing his mate before she hit her head on the ground.
"You b.a.s.t.a.r.d," I whisper, feeling her stir in my arms making me look down at her in relief. "Khole... Wake up..." I brushed my fingertips against her cheek as she moaned and leaned away from me.
"I don't think you'll want either of those ladies waking up. They won't be the... same." A dark grin he had only sent shutters down my spine before the man beside him raised a gun and pointed it at Zavier.
He shot it off and Zavier hadn't even realized it, though the bullet stopped midway and fell to the ground a few feet in front of us. The blood markings that Khole made s.h.i.+ned brightly making me grin at him.
"My Khole is smarter than you let on. She's created a large s.h.i.+eld from you both." I said with a hint of pride when Andrew growled and shook his head, still pleased with what was happening.
"It does not matter. Those women will be waking and joining my side." He counters with c.o.c.kiness.
I was about to tell him to f.u.c.k off but I felt a stream of electricity shot out of Khole, hitting Andrew when she winced and held her neck. Andrew flew back, hitting the tree while his companion hurried to his side.
"C-Cade... You m-must knock me out. N-Nava as well." Khole stuttered, looking as if she was on the urge of losing all control when I blinked my confusion.
"No. I will not-"

"You m-must! I don't care whether you are D-Dylan or not-t! But you have t-" She didn't finish her words before there was a ferrous snarl. We snapped our gazes to Nava slamming her foot into Levi's jaw, her anger spewing from her while lunging towards Zavier and Ivan.
What was this?
"Please!" She pleads me when clenching her eyes shut. "You have too. I-I can't block it forever." She whispers, gripping her head while I stared at her. Unsure if I could do such a thing she wishes for.
"I-I can't," I admit before she dropped her hands into her lap, keeping her eyes shut.
"Must you be so pathetic?" She asks in a darker voice, opening her eyes and revealing the black flooding into them. "You may think of yourself as some protector but you are only a liar!" A gust of electricity shot from her hands and at my chest as I flew away from her, landing on the ground a few steps from her.
Nava slammed her foot into Levi's chest, sending him spiraling against his back beside me. We both looked at one another unsure of what has happened to our mates when Zavier cracked his fists and walked over to a p.i.s.sed off Nava.
Her dark black hair was just as wild as the look in her eyes. It was as if she was daring him to come at him and he was walking right into her trap.
"You are being a very bad pup, Nava. Time to learn your lesson." He says while she grinned darkly and motioned him to come at her.
"Of how I've waited to take you down, my Alpha. You should learn how to control your wolves rather than your mate." Her words made him snarl at her before lunging towards her.
He s.h.i.+fted into his wolf, trying his best to land a hit but Nava was flawless in her defense attacks. Blocking each hit and kneeing him in the gut to earn a sharp yelp. He didn't fall to the ground but his movements were sure slowed down after her sickening attack.
Ian turned his attention to a power surging Khole, her hair flying in the air while electricity zapped around her like the G.o.ddess she was. She looked so beautiful, how I once thought she wasn't worthy enough for a prince like myself.
"You are being an unfair opponent. Striking a man when he treats you nicely. Not very ladylike of you." Ian tsks, walking towards Khole as she chuckled in an evil way.
"Who said I wanted to be ladylike you b.a.s.t.a.r.d." She sneers angrily, throwing a gust of power at him before he s.h.i.+elded himself from it. The intensity of her attack was even great for him while he ducked from her attack and yelled something in a foreign language.
Her lightning was pulled away from her target, Zavier, as a green vine wrapped up her leg and held her hands from harming anyone else. Only she burned the vines and threw several more bolts at Ivan. One of them hitting him in the arm and making him drop to the ground only for a moment.
All four of them fighting, but surprisingly the ladies had the upper hand. They worked together, Khole throwing bolts of energy into Zavier while Nava punched Ian any chance she had. The diligent team was tiring our companions and Levi and I needed to get off our a.s.ses and help.
I jumped off my feet, lunging towards Khole as she snarled and strained against my tight hold against her. Levi had the same idea, knocking Nava off her feet when she was distracted with fighting off Zavier's wolf.
Both ladies were violent against their mates as if they couldn't recognize their partners. It was heartbreaking.
"It'd be best if you let me go now." She purrs in a distracting way while Ian walked towards us, his hand bright with a light that would likely knock her out. "You don't know what someone like me could do," Khole says mysteriously, but that didn't make me release her.
"I know what witches can do," I growl at her, her fingers brus.h.i.+ng against mine. The felt oddly like... claws?
"Who said I was a witch you jacka.s.s? I hate being called a witch!" She screamed angrily, lightening spilling above before large bolts. .h.i.t the ground around us. The clouds darkening all of us and I could see that even Andrew was shocked.
Her ear-piercing scream seemed to call upon the dark mysterious clouds, only encouraging the rain of lightning. Luckily for us, she had placed a barrier that prevented us from getting harmed.
That was if we were inside the barrier.
I dove into it at the same time as Ian. Both of us staring in shock at her sudden attack as she breathed heavily and glared at both of us, her black eyes glaring at each of us. Nava kicked off her mate, throwing him into the s.h.i.+eld while Zavier dove into the barrier. Her black eyes were almost as dark as her fur.
Khole's bolts of electricity didn't hit her, avoiding Nava at all cost before they both shared a look and glanced at Andrew and his companion.
"We should kill that b.a.s.t.a.r.d first. He will be easily disposed of." Khole spoke in a cold voice while Nava growled, agreeing with her. Both the ladies shared a look before turning away and walking towards Andrew and his red-eyed companion.
"Khole! W-"
A large bolt of energy slammed against the barrier, the storm above raging angrily when she glanced back at me with a dark look.
"Do not call me as if you care, Dylan. Stay in that cage I created for Cade." She spat at me, turning away while her nails sharpened into claws and her small ears stretched.
"Valkyrie." Ian panted beside me, his eyes wide with shock when I spared a glance at him with a growl.
"What?" I snapped, angry she was following my orders as he shook his head in disbelief.
"Khole is Valkyrie. It all makes sense now. Her lightning. Her s.h.i.+eld. She's a descendant of Brynhildr. It's why I couldn't find her magic ability." He says in disbelief when I looked at my mate in doubt.
"There's no way she's a Valkyrie. They've been long dead-" I stopped talking, watching as Khole's outfit s.h.i.+fted into the G.o.ddess armor known as the lost Valkyrie armor. She balanced a sword on her finger while Andrew scrambled away in fear.
"N-No! I control you!" He screams against the splash of lightning while Nava dove for his companion, glad to tear his throat from him. It was sickening, but if one of us was gonna kill him it would have been Nava.
"You do not have the power to do such things." She speaks as if she'd been reborn, tilting her head at the pathetic man. "I will murder you and-"
"You will do no such thing, Skola!" A woman snaps loudly, the lightning stopping as a few women appeared out of nowhere. Khole remain hovered over Andrew, her blading itching closer and closer to his throat. "Blade down. Now!" The woman was no taller than Khole, her armor telling us that she was too, a Valkyrie.
"Do not speak to me as if you know me." Khole snarls, spinning around and throwing her blade at the woman with copper hair before she ducked and dove for Khole.
Khole blade slammed against the barrier as I snarled and started going over to the fight but the other two women blocked me. Both of them gorgeous and Valkyries.
The copper-haired Valkyrie threw her blade from her belt, swiping down at my mate as she dodged the attack and slammed a foot into the woman's stomach. Nava snarled loudly, diving for the Valkyrie but a raven-haired woman tackled her to the ground and held her down.
"Let go of my mate!" Levi yells angrily, shoving past the two women and rus.h.i.+ng to Nava while the raven-haired woman held her hand on Nava's head and whispered a chant. The darkness from her eyes being stripped away before leaving her calm and confused brown eyes.
The raven-haired woman got off Nava, letting Levi crush Nava against him as she looked around confused. I almost didn't catch Khole get knocked on the ground, the copper-haired woman holding her down and hovering a hand in her face.
"Get off me!" She screams, biting the woman's hand and throwing her away before s.n.a.t.c.hing her blade from the ground. Khole jumped off the ground, ready to attack anyone around her but keeping her eyes on Andrew scurrying away from a p.i.s.sed off Valkyrie.
"Oh. Skola... Must you always be so difficult?" The copper-haired woman questions when I shoved the two ladies away and walked over to where Khole was. Her dark eyes unsettling to me in so many ways but I had other things to worry over.
"Khole. Come on. Drop the sword." I plead in a soft voice as she looked at the blade then at me with a dark smile.
"Okay." She tossed the blade grabbing it again before throwing it at me like a spear. I yelped diving away while the raven-haired Valkyrie grabbed it from midair and tossed it back to the copper-haired woman. She looked displeased at Khole when looking at me.
"Are you her other?" She asks me in a cold, emotionless voice as I nodded with a gulp.
This was so strange.
"Yes. I am her mate." I answer when the woman nodded and jumped at me, knocking me on the ground and pressing her blade against my throat.
I growled but the hold she had on me prevented me from moving much. My eyes watched as Khole narrowed her eyes at us, not at all happy about the situation.
"Let him go." She possessively says, stepping forward and rising to the woman's challenge.
The woman though chuckled before saying, "Let me remove the anger spell. Then I will release him." She promises when I winced from the blade knicking my throat.
"I said let him go!" Khole yells at the woman, glaring daggers at her.
"Then surrender yourself." The woman barks while Khole glared at her then slid her eyes at me for a moment. She looked torn whether to follow orders or to murder her captor and I'd be glad to die if she could feel at peace for once.
However, she didn't take the bait, raising her hands and placing them behind her head. The woman clicked her tongue at the other Valkyrie as the raven-haired Valkyrie walked over to Khole and held her hand in front of her face, speaking softly while the darkness left Khole's eyes.
The blade was removed from my throat, letting me run to Khole as she blinked back her dizziness and dropped down to the ground. I held onto her, not wanting to let her go when she blinked her large purple eyes at me in confusion.
"W-What happened-d?"
