When he stopped in front of her house, Hailey got out of the car and went to the front of her house to unlock the door.

"I have been waiting for you."

Hailey jumped and turned to the voice that called her. "Valerian, what are you doing here?"

"What else would I be doing here, besides waiting for you. You look nice."

"Thank you, you should have called or come back later on or tomorrow."

"I would have but I needed to know that you got home safe, or if you came back home at all."

"Why would that matter?"

"Because I saw you, Hailey, leave with him and that means that you were with him the whole day."

"Where are you spying on me?"

"No, I wasn't. I was here to see you earlier but then I saw you two leave the house together. Did he stay the night over Hailey?"

Hailey looked down, she didn't know how to answer.

"Answer me, Hailey!"

"I..I…we fell asleep watching a movie and that's all that happened."

"So you did spend the night together."

"We didn't do anything, Valerian."

"He came to keep me company and I couldn't turn him away."

"Why can't you Hailey?"

"He has been there for me for so long and I just can't be mean to him."

"Why did you come to me than the other night and not him."

"I was drunk Valerian."

"So, is that an excuse that you are going to use. Being drunk. So what?"

"Fine, I am sorry that I came to you when I was drunk and didn't know what in the h.e.l.l I was doing."

"Being drunk is not an excuse Hailey. Your emotions don't all of a sudden change just because you are drunk."

"I don't know what you want me to say then, you won't accept my apology or anything. What must I do to make it up to you?"

"I don't want anything from you Hailey. I can't keep on doing this."

"Doing what Valerian?"

"You hurt me most of the times and I have tried."

"I am sorry."

"It's not just about being sorry Hailey, you have changed."

"Everyone has to change, that's how people grow. It's not possible to stay the same person over a long period of time."

"No, you didn't change for the good but for the bad."

"How so Valerian? It is because I don't meet your taste or I am not the same timid girl from years ago who did anything for you."

"No Hailey, I never viewed you to be timid but when you ran away from us or what we could have had, it just proved that you are a coward."

"I am not a coward!"

"Yes you are, I am right here and you can't face me or tell me why you left. Even when you left I looked for you, because I am not afraid to express myself."

"I have no answers for you Valerian, Not the answers you want in any case. Some people don't have to have reasons all the time as to why they do certain things or decisions."

"When it involves someone's heart, they should Hailey and that's decency, something you seem to be lacking."

Hailey took a deep breath, and her nostrils flared.

"You can unclench your fists or you can hit me if you want."

Hailey realized that she was clenching her fists all this time. She loosened them, "Are we done?"

"Yes Hailey we are done, I can't keep on trying to explain to you. It's like I am talking to a wall."

"Wow, all of this because of Alex staying over my place."

"No Hailey, it's because you were killing me every second that you two were together last night and the whole of today." With that Valerian walked away.
