“Mummy, who is more important? Me or Daddy?”

Enoch looked from Xia Ning to Qiao Yu, inched backward, then shouted in the direction of the kitchen at Gao Wanhua. “Grandma, Grandma, I don’t want Daddy anymore.”

Gao Wanhua came out of the kitchen in a hurry and said to Enoch. “Honey, what’s wrong?”

“Daddy wants to take Mummy from me! He’s a bad man!” Enoch said in grievance.

Gao Wanhua darted a look at Xia Ning and Qiao Yu, who were sitting on either side of Enoch, and a lightbulb went off in her head. Her smile widened. “I’ll teach your father a lesson later.”

Sensing Gao Wanhua’s gaze, Xia Ning was a little embarra.s.sed. She looked down at Enoch.

Qiao Yu, on the other hand, remained unperturbed. He only said to Enoch in an indifferent voice. “Going to your grandmother for help because you can’t beat me? You’re such a baby!”

Xia Ning couldn’t bring herself to watch the interaction between the father and son. Both were equally childish, but Enoch was still a child and his reaction was only normal. Qiao Yu, on the other hand, was being unreasonable.

She couldn’t help but look at Qiao Yu, who was playing with Enoch with his head lowered. The lines on his face softened and he didn’t look as emotionless. The affectionate look in his eyes was unbelievable.

This wasn’t a big family, but the warmth between the grandmother, father, and son made her envy. It was too wonderful to look away. There was a time when she had a happy family like this too.

After playing with Enoch for a while, Qiao Yu sensed that he was being watched. He looked up to find Xia Ning staring blankly at him and she almost looked infatuated. His pupils contracted and he kept his gaze on her in turn.
