"This is a first, you came out of cla.s.s before me." Lola said.
"I couldn't stand them."
"Reign and Karly?" as Lola burst out laughing.
"Not funny." as she tried to look serious.
Lola takes out her phone and she calls a cab to come fetch them.
"So, what were they doing?" Lola asked with an amused looked on her face.
"The usual couple s.h.i.+t, Oh babe this or babe that."
Lola burst out laughing. "I wish I was in your cla.s.s, to see all this drama."
The cab arrived, and they hopped in. They arrived at the mall, it was ma.s.sive. She had never been to such a huge mall. We go to the entrance, welcome to Water Rivers Mall. She looked around and she around.
Lola looped her arm around hers and they commenced walking. They walked into the first store and it was full of dresses. Lola ran to the one clothing rack and she went to the other. They picked out a bunch of clothes to try on.
When they were satisfied, they went into the changing room. They came out at the same time and they would compare outfits.
When they were done, they decided to first look at other stores then they would pick the best one. They went from store to store. Skylar felt exhausted, "Let's take a break ."
"Sure, I am also running low on energy." Lola replied.
They decided to go get some frozen yogurt. When they had their frozen yogurt in hand they sat down and started to discuss which outfit they would take.
"I loved the red dress from the second store. I am going to go for that one and you?" Lola said.
"I am going to get the white lace crop top, and the black mini skirt." She replied.
"I will come over to your house to get dressed." Said Lola.
"Okay, what time do you want to come?"
"at around half six."
"Cool."
They finished their frozen yogurts. They went back to the stores where they bought their outfits. Once they were done, they went home.
"Bye." Lola said as she got out the cab.
"See you tomorrow!" She replied.
Skylar got home, and she found her mom already there. He car was parked in the parking garage. She and Lola had spent so many hours at the mall.
"Hey mom." As she got in the house.
"Hi, sweetheart. Where were you?"
"I was at the mall buying an outfit for tomorrow."
Her mom raised her eyebrows, "It was Lola's idea."
"I didn't say anything. Go change then come down for dinner."
She went to her room and put down the parcel with her clothes. She changed into her pajamas and then went back downstairs.
She found her mom had dished up and set the food on the table. She sat across her and began eating.
"What did you buy?" her mom asked.
"I bought a lace top and a skirt." She replied her. She remembered that Lola was coming over tomorrow to get ready at her house. "Oh yeah, Lola wants to come over and get ready here. Is that fine with you?"
"That will be great honey, of course she can. I am glad that you are making new friends."
"Thanks mom."
She finished her dinner and she went back to her room. She sat on her table and did a bit of her homework. She was feeling very tired, so her studying didn't last long.
She closed her books and went to her bed. She lay down and immediately fell asleep.
Morning had come too soon, and she dragged herself out of bed. She felt a bit better when she was done showering. She got dressed, had breakfast and went to Lola's house who looked way more excited than the day before.
"Today is the day." She ran over to her and threw her arms around her.
"Morning to you too Lola" as she pulled back. They made their way to school and today would prove a challenge to Lola.
The day was not exciting or anything. It was okay, the major difference was that it was oddly quiet, and she knew why. Reign, Jessie, Karly and her minions hadn't shown up to school.
She enjoyed it especially in English she felt relieved and she could concentrate. The bell rang, and it was finally time to go home.
"I will see you later." Lola said in excitement when they go to her house.
"Okay." She waved at her. She got home and had some lunch then she took out her books and did her homework. When she was done, she looked at the clock and she had some time to nap.
"Skylar." She woke up when she heard her name being called. She rushed downstairs and she found Lola talking to her mom.
"You finally awake." Her mom said.
"Yes."
Lola grinned at her. She saw that she didn't have a need to introduce them because they were chatting when she got downstairs.
"Let's go Lola. We will see you mom before we leave."
"Okay honey." Her mom replied.
She and Lola went upstairs. "I like your mom." Lola said.
"Thanks, I guess."
"I am so excited." Lola squealed.
"You can use that mirror to do your make-up. I am going to go take a quick shower."
"Thanks."
She went to the bathroom and showered. She got dressed, and she walked out the bathroom.
"d.a.m.n you look hot Skylar."
She saw that Lola was in her red dress and had paired it with black pumps. "You too mami."
They both laughed. She went to her closet and took out her white sneakers and put them on. She went to the mirror and she put on some makeup. She let her hair down loose.
"If only I was a guy. You are on fire Skylar."
"Stop it, and so are you!"
Lola called a cab and they went downstairs to wait for it. Her mom looked at them. "You look beautiful my babies."
"Thank you." She and Lola replied.
The cab arrived. "We are leaving mom."
"Have fun and be safe." Her mom replied.
They went and got in the cab, and they made their way to the party. Skylar felt a bit nervous. She looked over at Lola who was giddy with excitement.
They finally arrived. They paid for the cab and the house was bustling with music and students.
"Ready?" Lola asked.
"More that I can be." She replied.
