I teleported back to my house. Appearing inside of my cute, small bedroom, I took off my clothes, took a shower and layed on the bed in my long, plain dress with shorts underneath. I missed this warmth of the place you call home. I could hear some people pa.s.sing by and naughty children who wandered into this part of the village. Even though it was still noon, all of my thoughts started to wanish and my eyelids become heavy.

'Maybe I'll finally get some sleep...'

************************

The blood and the gore was now everywhere, covering sharp, white claws of those who killed the poor parents.

"Those were the last ones, right?" One of beasts growled with pleased voice. The enormous creature hook the blood from his claws and looked around, sniffing for other escaped villagers.

The tiny girl stared at them in horror. Just a moment ago, this pile of flesh was her loving parents. Tears streamed down her dirty cheeks. A weak sob escaped her mouth and the biggest of the group, probably the leader, instantly caught it with his sensitive ears. The tiger-like Beast moved in the direction of the small girl. Her heart started to beat faster, as if trying to jump out of the chest and run away on its own. All of her body was numb from pure terror.

The creature was in no haste and walked leisurely on its four muscular, furry legs. The girl fell back as much as possible and held her breath, trying to blend into the cold, slimy mud of the cave. The Beast towered over the entrance like a mountain cliff and peeked inside through the gaps of the natural barrier. Letting out a mocking laugh he turned around to face his underdealings.

"Hey, you b.a.s.t.a.r.ds! There is one more piece of c.r.a.p. Let the newbe clean it up! I'm too lazy."

The smallest of the group was pushed in front. Even if he was the shortest, he was still around 2.5 meters high and comparing to a three-years-old child, he was a horrific existence that will take her life. She crawled back more and more, staring at the approaching doom. He was getting closing in, but the closer he came, the less scared the child felt.

'Why is he sad?' A sudden thought crossed her mind, surprising her herself. ' Why do I think he is sad?' She couldn't explain, but she felt that this young Beast was suffering. She looked closer into his eyes and saw that suffering.

Because she was distracted from her fear, se regained her ability to move. Grabbing the scroll that her mother deemed dear to her, she ran deeper into the cave. Sharp, tiny pebbles grazed her feet and the darkness of the pa.s.sageway was slowly consuming her heart.

*Crush* She turned around and saw how with a single wave of his paw, the Beast brock through the barrier. She launched forward, not caring about the rocks and the darkness of the cave. She felt that the Beast was pursuing her, but the corridor was too small for him to pa.s.s through.

"Sigh"

"Sigh"

Two sighs of relief echoed in the empty corridors.

The girl felt that the sadness that Beast felt, became a little lighter, but didn't dare to turn her head. Continuing her journey, she wandered through the dark and we already losing the track of the time, when a tiny light of hope appeared at the end of the labyrinth.

Exiting the cave, she was. .h.i.t by the blinding light of the sun. Adjusting her eyes, she saw that she was almost out of the forest amd in the distance, a big, flouris.h.i.+ng city was hidden behind ma.s.sive walls.

"Go to the capital..." she muttered and dragged her bleeding legs with willpower alone. She moved slowly. Her consciousness was almost out of her grasp; however, one thing that she never let go off, was the scroll. She clinged to it with all of her might and was finally able to reach the gates.

Two st.u.r.dy guards were shocked to see a baby coming in their direction alone, carried something with her. They cautiously approached her and the one that looked as an easy going person, kneeled. Looking at the exhausted and bleeding girl before him, he could kind of guess where she came from.

"Hey there, little miss. What are you doing here?

The girl met his kind eyes and her fell unconscious into his arms.

**********************

My eyes shot open.

"This is... new? This is the first time I had a dream that went past their deaths..."

I sat up in the bed and looked out of the window. Full, translucent moon was high above the ground, showering the Earth with its brilliance.

"Midnight? Wow. Hey, dreams, what's happening? Did you decide to give me some rest?" I asked G.o.d-knows-who.

I changed into my training clothes (that became my regular clothes after all of this time) and teleported onto the mountain top.

Strong, chilling breeze ruffled my hair. I sat on the cliff, bathing in the raise of the jewels on the sky. Fresh air and peaceful atmosphere.

"Hehe, this sure does feel strangely beautiful after that dream."

"What dream?" I turned around and saw that Tobiramnii-san and Has.h.i.+ramnii-san were standing behind me.

"Good night, Has.h.i.+ramnii-san, Tobiramnii-san! What are you doing here? It's already past midnight." I asked them, trying to avoid this subject. It's not the most pleasant thing to remember.

"Right back at you. We were at home and felt that you were here again." Has.h.i.+ramnii-san said and sat besides me. Tobiramnii-san did the same and now I was in between. "What troubles you? Tobirama went to check on you after in the evening, but you were asleep. He was about to leave, but saw how some tears started to form on your eyes and you began to role on the bed."

"Really?! I'm sorry you saw that, Tobiramnii-san."

"It was not a big deal. I tried to wake you up, but you wouldn't listen, so I just sat there and held your hand. Somehow, you calmed down and fell into a deep slumber. I was sure you will sleep till morning. What have had awakened you?"

I see. So the reason I didn't wake up when they got killed, was him being by my side....

"Thank you." I said while looking at the night sky. "I was finally able to get a proper sleep because you did that." I told him with a smile. Seeing their puzzled expressions, I told them the truth.

"Every night I see the same dream. I, as a three-years-old, was running away from the unit of the Beast's army. They were the ones who attacked and wiped off our small village. Every night, I would see the deaths of my parents again and again."

I returned my gaze to the sky. "With time, those memories became more real. I now feel, pain, temperature, scents and other things, as if I was there again. The moment they would get killed, I would usually wake up and getting back to sleep would become impossible."

They listened closely. I could see that they wanted to do something, but past must stay in the past. besides, they wouldn't be able to help anyways.

"So that is why, you come here in the middle of the night."

"Yes. It helps me to clear my head. I enjoy the view of the place that all of us created and my heart becomes at ease."

"How can you remember things from when you were three? I don't think kids can remember things of that age all that well. It wouldn't be enough to wake you up." Has.h.i.+ramnii-san asked with a thoughtful face, furrowing his brows.

"I have photographic memory. I was able to remember thing vividly from the age of one."

I state this fact with emotionless tone. Why do I feel a little irritated? I opened the s.p.a.ce and took out the scroll that mother gave me before her death.

"Mom gave this to me before she died. I tried to open it bac in my world, but failed."

"Did you try to open it again here?" Has.h.i.+ramnii-san asked.

I got amazed by my own stupidity...

"I forgot...."

"Let me take a look." Tobiramnii-san was about to grab the scroll and I was barely able to move it in the last second.

"Don't touch this!!!"

He stared at me with stunned expression. "I am sorry?"

"No, you didn't do anything wrong. this thing is dangerous. If someone else but me was to touch this, their life force will be sucked out. There was once a foolish thief who tried. Guess what he became? A dry corpse."

He nodded and didn't try to take it from me again. I stared at the green scroll in my hand and a sudden realisation hit me on the head.

'I used every method possible that involved mana... Should I try using chakra?'

I gathered some chakra and injected it into the scroll. It remained as dull and lifeless as any other day. Looks like I'll be experimenting on this a little later.

"Nothing happened... Well it was to be expec....."

Suddenly, the scroll send a wave of heat and soared into the air. As it was floating, it started to change its colour from withered green to golden. The light it was giving off slowly died down and it landed back on my hand.

"What happened...." I heard Tobiramnii-san ask in awe.

"I don't know." I tried to open the scroll and it started to unrole. I was trembling in antic.i.p.ation. The paper was slowly becoming longer and the first thing that was written on it, was written using the language from this world!

" It says 'Search for us, the last one.'..."

The second I red that out loud and the scroll escaped from my grasp yet again and shone with golden light. It was slowly appertaining higher apt.i.tude and when it was above our heads, it shot in a specific direction, like an arrow from a bow.

I jumped back on my feet and was about to give a chase, but felt a strong hand gripping my wrist.

"Let go, Tobiramnii-san! "

"Not until you tell us what is going on."

"I don't know!" I started to panic. "I can feel that I have to go in that direction! I don't know! Just let go already!!" I felt the urge to follow the golden arrow, as if someone was calling me. Something of great importance was there! I could feel it!

A sigh escaped from Tobiramnii-san's mouth. He let go of my wrist and I dashed in the direction in which the scroll had disappeared.
